Abstract

This study aimed to find out the mistakes made by students in doing the essay task  of the material limit and derivative, determine the cause and determine the percentage of students who make mistakes. The research is descriptive qualitative research study; the subjects were taken 5 students of class X1 TKJ SMK Kuncup Samigaluh. Data was collected through observation, tests and interviews. Data validation is done by triangulation of data by comparing the data tests and interview data, while data observations are used as reinforcement in the analysis. Data analysis techniques using qualitative data analysis including data reduction, data presentation and verification of the data and drawing. The results showed the mistakes made by the students are (1) an error in receiving information (80.77%) involved errors in writing down what is known and what is asked, cause lazy to write, forgot to write, want to get it over with, do not read the instructions carefully, (2) the error associated with. Limit and derivative concepts (92.31%) involved errors in the application of limit theorem, determine the limit algebra, trig functions to determine the derivative, find the equation of the tangent line curve, determine the interval rose functions; interval fungtion down, and the stationary value, cause students do not carefully read matter, no taboo application limit theorem, not understanding the material limit algebra indeterminate form properly, want to abbreviate the writing limxà1, at each step, to get it over with, do not know about the herd numbers, misinterpret intent about, not careful when working, less derivative memorize trigonometric functions, forget what was asked, forgetting how to find the equation of the tangent line curve, gradient perplexed determine which ones should be used to find the equation of the tangent line perpendicular to the line of the curve, not mastering the material equation of a tangent curve, not understanding the material increasing function, decreasing function and stationary values, interval determine not understand the rules, and no way of factoring the true taboo (3) error in calculating (76.92%) involved errors in substituting algebra operations, the cause is not well understood algebra multiplication, not master nature properties of algebraic operations, while holding inaccurate, hasty in doing the task, and lack of understanding of the process of substituting the right.

Abstract

This research aims at improving activeness and mathemathics learning achievement through cooperative learning model ; Teams accelerated-instruction (TAI) type. The hypothesis of the action research is that cooperative learning model ; Teams accelerated-instruction type is able to improve activeness and mathemathics learning achievement on 7th grade students in SMP Negeri 3 Pengasih Kulon Progo at 2012/2013 academic year.  This research is Classroom Action Research using quasi-experiment method conducted at least in two cycles. The subject of the research is 32 students of class VII A in SMP Negeri 3 Pengasih Kulon progo while the research object is mathematics learning process through cooperative learning model ; Teams accelerated-instruction type intended to know the degree of srudents’ activeness and mathemathics learning achievement in SMP Negeri 3 Pengasih Kulon Progo. Data collection techniques in the research are observation sheets, documentation and field notes. The instruments used are observation sheets and achievement test. The instrument try-out is validity and reliability test. The result of the research shows that after being applied cooperative learning model ; Teams accelerated-instruction type in the classroom, the students’ activeness and mathemathics learning achievement is improving. The improvement is indicated that there is an increased percentage average on observation sheets of mathemathics learning achievement in each cycle. The first cycle’s increased average is 49,61% categorized as moderate level and the second one is 69,33% categorized as high level. Seen from the average of students’ mathemathics learning achievement, there is also improvement. The average of the students’ prior knowledge related to mathemathics learning achievement is 65,63 fulfiled 53,12 % Minimum Crietria of learning Mastery (17 students). The first cycle shows that the average of the students’ mathemathics learning achievement is 70,09 fulfiled 59,38 % Minimum Crietria of learning Mastery (19 students). The second cycle shows that the average of the students’ mathemathics learning achievement is 79,18 fulfiled 71,9 % Minimum Crietria of learning Mastery (23 students). Accordingly , it is recommended for mathematics teachers to apply cooperative learning model ; Teams accelerated-instruction type to solve the problems emerged in the learning process.

Abstract

This research was formed the background by the low level of the studying achievement of the student's mathematics was caused by the negative perception of the student  towards mathematics, the object studying in mathematics abstract was not yet realistic and studying that was used did not yet use the teacher and the capacity of the study field to understand the concept of mathematics in the level was beforehand very weak. The aim of this Research was to know  that was effective used in studying, with team teaching  or individual teaching . This research used the method of the quasi experiment. The research population was all the student class X the Senior High School inYogyakarta in the year 2010-2011. The sample that was used in this research 2 schools. The taking of the Sample was carried out technically cluster random sampling. The instrument test was carried out used the validity test, the level of the difficulty of the difference power and reliabilitas. Technically the analysis that was used  t-test. As the condition for the analysis that is the population normal distribution, and the population had the same variance (homogeneous). In this research could be concluded that studying the team to the study field of mathematics not yet effective was applied to the student class X  the senior high school in Yogyakarta with the subject of discussion Trigonometry. This could be seen from results of the t-test that was received (tobs) of 1,145 where the area of criticism in u = 236 in the level siginificans 5% (two sides) is .

Abstract

This research arms at knowing motivation and achievement in Mathematics learning using Problem Solving approach in grade VII A SMP Taman Dewasa Ibu Pawiyatan Yogyakarta in the academic year of 2012/2013. The subject of the research is eightteen students. It is conducted in two cycles. Each cycles consist of : planning, action, observation, reflection. The technique or the collection is through test, interview, questionnaire, documentation and field notes . The researcher analyze the data to be done by calculating the questionnaire and to test every aspect of learning achievement is done by calculating the average value and counting the percentage of tests that meet the KKM. Based on the results of the research show that the application of Problem Solving approaches to increase motivation and achievement of students learning Mathematics. It is shown by the average percentage increase in motivation to study pre action by 40% increased by 66,53% in cycles two and cycles two increased to 78,88%, the guidelines include in the high category. Also demonstrated an increase in the average test result of students pre action for 56,05 and average test result of students in cycles one increased 8,95 point to 65 and average test result of students in cycles two average test result of students in cycles two increased 6,38 point to 71,38.

Abstract

Unemployment and proverty has becomes a major problem for Indonesian people that cannot be solved yet. Unemployment and proverty are also the impact of culture, character, and quality of human resources are the focus of the education function. Curriculum based entrepreneurship is expected to be a key measure for the school in creating school graduates that were highly competitive in the job market. One of the efforts is to implement statistics (especially financial statistics) in the subjects of entrepreneurship education. In the course of financial statistics, students are equipped with knowledge about investing strategies : how to maximize profits and minimize losses. However, entrepreneurship education still focuses on the entreprenurial process or behavior in order for the students to have character of entrepreneurs.

Abstract

The purpose of this research are to describe the process of implementation of the Integrated Cooperative learning models Reading and Composition (CIRC) to increase the activity and student chemistry learning outcomes in class VII B SMP Taman Dewasa Ibu Pawiyatan Yogyakarta. Type of research is action research class carried out in two cycles, where eachcycle consists of four stages, namely (1) planning, (2) implementating, (3) obserating,(4) reflecting. The subjects in this research are students of class VII B SMP Taman Dewasa Ibu PAwiyatan Yogyakarta, amounting to 19 students while the object in this research is the activity and student learning outcomes. Data obtained in this research include: student learning outcomesdrwan from the tes results at the end of cycle and the activity of students drawn from the observation sheets. The results showed an increase in every aspect of student activity proceeds as follows: aspects noted increased from 57.89% to 78.94%, aspects argues increased from 57,89% to 73,68%, aspects discuss increased from 60,52% to 55,26%, aspects do the problems increased from 55,26% to 86,84%, aspects respond to the teacher's instructions increased from 49,99% to 73,68% and aspects presentation increased from 36,84% to 65,78%. While the average math student learning outcomes increased from 61.05 in the first cycle to 72.10 in the second cycle.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the Mathematics Education students are taught by UST Yogyakarta models Missouri Mathematics Project (MMP) achieve mastery learning mathematics, and to know the mathematics achievement of students taught using a model of Missouri Mathematics Project (MMP) is better than being taught by using a model conventional. The study was conducted in Mathematics Education Program FKIP-UST. The population in the study were all students of 7th semester of mathematics education and the samples taken at random from the population consisting of one experimental class and one control class. Data collection method used was a test. The research instrument used to learn math achievement tests. Tests carried out using a test instrument validity and reliability of the data obtained 4 about valid and reliable because more than r table = 0.316. Data analysis using the t test. The results showed the One-Sample Test sig obtained experimental class 0.001> 0.005, then H0 is rejected. So the average value of the experimental class learning model using MMP was 75.8 and achieve mastery learning which is more than 70. In addition, t-test for Equality of Means generate value t = 2.78 and sig (2-tailed) = 0.007 <0.05, so that H1 is accepted. Thus, the average achievement of different experimental class learning achievement grade control. Then based on the output of Group Statistics show the average results of studying experimental class 75.83 is much greater than the control class 67.93. Therefore, it can be concluded that the mathematical achievement of students taught by UST Yogyakarta Missouri Mathematics Project model reached mastery learning and better than students who were taught using the conventional model.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to improve interests and outcome of learning Mathematics of Eighth grade students of SMP Taman Dewasa Pawiyatan Yogyakarta, employing the Small Group Work model. Action Hypothesis proposed in this study is that the Small Group Work model is able to enhance the interest and outcome of learning Mathematics of the Eighth grade students of SMP Taman Dewasa Ibu Pawiyatan Yogyakarta. The research applies the Classroom Action Research, particularly using apparent experiment conducted, at least, in 2 cycles. The subject appointed is the Eighth grade students of SMP Taman Dewasa Ibu Pawiyatan Yogyakarta. There are 19 students consisting of 9 male students and 10 female students. The object opted is Mathematics learning through Small Group Work model to determine their interest and the outcome of Mathematics learning in Algebra operation. The required data is gathered through using observation sheets, questionnaires, tests, field documentation and notes. The instruments are assessed using validity and reliability tests. The research findings indicate that the application of Small Group Work model is proven to improve students’ interest and their learning outcome. This can be presented by the increasing of student’s interest average percentage based on the observation sheets in each cycle. In the first cycle, the students’ interest is as much as 62,71%, and for the second cycle achieves 79,82%. It is also supported by the questionnaire data that shows the increasing number in the first to the second cycle, from 79,83% to 85,11%. The increasing fashion also takes place in the students’ Mathematics average score. The average score for the first cycle is 48,42 up to 58,95, and for the second cycle turns to 71,84. It is confirmed in this research that the Small Group Work model can enhance students’ interest and the Mathematics learning outcome. It is expected that teachers can put this learning model in practice.
