Abstract

The general objectives of this research are: (1) cooperative learning model is more effective to use between TGT and NHT, (2) the effect learning activity to student’s achievement, (3) there is an interaction between learning models and learning activity to learning achievement of mathematics. This is a quasi-experimental research.  The research populations are the seven grade of SMP 9 Yogyakarta in Academic Year 2013/2014. Samples are taken with cluster random sampling technique obtained experimental class I and experimental class II. The data were obtained through test and questionnaire. The test instrument used test of item validity and test of reliability. In the analysis of data, the researcher used two-way analysis of variance test for using requirements analysis are normality and homogeneity tests. The results show that the value of FA = 24.364 > Ftable  = 4.00; FB = 209.683 >  Ftable = 3.15; and FAB = 0.664 <  Ftable = 3.15 which means that all of the hypotheses are accepted.  The result of the study showed TGT is more effective to be used than NHT, high learning activities give the best achievement of mathematics means that learning activities will give an effect to the students’ achievement, there is no interaction between learning model and learning activity on the learning achievement of mathematics means that on each learning activity levels (high, medium, low) mathematics achievement of TGT is always better than NHT, as well as on each learning model (TGT, NHT) mathematics achievement of high learning activities is always better than mathematics achievement of medium and low learning activity.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to improve the learning motivation and learning achievement in mathematic of student of class VIIC SMP N 22 Purworejo using learning type Small Group Work. The subjects of this research were student of class VIIC SMP N 22 Purworejo totaling 31 students. The object of this research was learning motivation and mathematic learning achievement. The result showed that after application of using learning type Small Group Work in class VIIC SMP N 22 Purworejo, learning motivation and mathematic learning achievement of student has increased. This was indicated by an increase in the result percentage average learning motivation score of 39,78% in the pre-action, whereas at the first cycle improves with average percentage 55,61%. In the second cycle improve to 78,01%. Mathematic learning achievement of student also increased. At the beginning of the test the ability is 64,32. In the first cycle, the average result improves to 76,26. In the second cycle the average result improves to 85,30.

Abstract

The purposes of this research were to know the achievement of tendency and learning mathematics desire seventh grade students of junior high school in SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Wonosari use cooperative learning model that conclude STAD and TAI types, to know which one the most effective. The type of this research was quasi experiment research. The population of this research was seventh grade students of SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Wonosari academic year 2013/2014. The data that will be analyzed were two classes’ amount 73 students. The data were collected by cluster random sampling technique with drawing way. The data collecting technique were using test and questionnaire technique. Experiment analysis instrument was done usefully include validity, different power, level of difficulties and reliability test. The data analysis technique was descriptive and hypothesis test that done by due diligent test. The result of this research can conclude that: Mathematics learning achievement of STAD students experiment was categorized as medium, mathematics achievement of TAI students experiment was high categorized; Mathematics learning desire of STAD students experiment was high categorized, mathematics learning desire of TAI students experiments was high categorized; Based on mathematics learning of students, TAI experiment group have higher achievement than STAD experiment group therefore cooperative learning model TAI type more effective that cooperative learning STAD type. TAI experiment group have higher mathematics learning desire than STAD experiment group, so cooperative learning model TAI type more effective that cooperative learning model STAD type, it can seen from learning mathematic desire of students.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to improve the learning interest and learning outcomes in mathematics to the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 2 B Kalibawang Kulon Progo Regency, Yogyakarta in Academic Year 2013/2014 using the Jigsaw cooperative learning . The subjects of this study were the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 2 B Kalibawang Kulon Progo Regency of Yogyakarta Academic Year 2013/2014 as many as 24 students. The object of this research is learning and mathematics learning outcomes gained from the implementation of the overall learning process learning model of Jigsaw. The results showed that after the application using cooperative learning Jigsaw SMP VIII B 2 Kalibawang Kulon Progo Regency of Yogyakarta Academic Year 2013/2014, the interest in learning and learning outcomes of mathematics were increased. This is demonstrated by the increase in the percentage of interest in learning score which was 74.10 % on average in the pre-action, while the first cycle was improved with an average percentage of 76.98 %. In the second cycle it was increased to 78.58 % . The results of students' mathematics learning were also increased. At the beginning, the test capability was 45.16 . In the first cycle , the average was increased to 54.44 . In the second cycle the average was increased to 72.06 .

Abstract

Sheet simulation is a media that can improve student learning outcomes, increasing the active response of students, and relieve tension and tired of learning mathematics. Media is in accordance with the character of the student and student interests and habits of students. The learning process with this medium is a model of the games and discussions group involving a student with a jovial mood, learning and thinking.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the process of learning by methods Contextual Teaching Learning (CTL) , increase interest and learning mathematics class VII C SMP Negeri 2 Kalibawang Kulon Progo. Hypothesis action in this study is through the implementation of cooperative learning approach can enhance CTL interest and learning outcomes. This research a Classroom Action Research (CAR) or Classroom Action research (CAR) conducted collaborative. The research suggests that increased student interest in each cycle by using learning methods Contextual Teaching Learning (CTL) compared to interest student learning before this research. Before this action student interest is the percentage of 32 % is included in the less qualified, student interest after the first cycle was 57 % qualify as moderate, while the students' interest after the second cycle was 79 % including higher qualifications. prior research These students passively listening to the teacher but after more research students actively ask questions and discuss the students' scores increased, the first score of 55.80 , an increase in the first cycle was 68.54 and increase the second cycle was 72.0. From the above results it shows that the model of learning Contextual Teaching Learning (CTL) may increase interest and student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to determine differences in problem solving skills with the learningcycle and conventional models in Mathematics Education Programm UST. This study design is a randomized pretest-posttest control group design. The sample was a student of fourth semester. Data collected by the testing techniques that comprise the initial test (pretest) and final test (posttest). Instruments in this research is a test instrument that consists of 4 questions about the pretest and posttest 5. The trials instruments include validity, different power, test difficulty levels, and reliability testing. Data analysis techniques include equality test average, which is the prerequisite test normality and homogeneity test, and analysis of the N gain using the t test. The results showed that there are differences in problem-solving abilities with learning model and conventional learning cycle. It was seen from the significant value of the index gain = 0.000 <α = 0:05. Based on the average ability of mathematical reasoning and problem solving shows that the model Learning Cycle better than conventional models.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out the correlation between students perception of teacher’s teaching ability, being active learning and learning motivation with the results of mathematics learning either independently or jointly. The population in this research is the entire students grade VIII SMPN 2 Salam, with a sample of 92 students taken by cluster random sampling. Analytical techniques multiple regression analysis resumed partial correlation with requirment of normality and linierity. Based on the results of the research, R =0,267, meaning that there was a positive correlation between students perception of teacher’s teaching ability, being active learning and learning motivation with the results of mathematics. ry1-23 is 0,261 meaning that there was a positive correlation between students perception of teacher’s teaching ability with the results of mathematics learning, ry2-13 is 0,288 meaning that there was a positive correlation between being active learning with the results of mathematics learning, that there was a positive correlation between learning motivation with the results of mathematics learning.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to find out correlate between beginning skill, learning pattern and background of parents education with mathematics learning achievement on 7th grade students at the whole district of Karangpucung, region of Cilacap at 2013/2014 academic year. The population in this research were all students of  7th grade students at the whole district of Karangpucung, region of Cilacap at 2013/2014 academic year and the samples taken at cluster random sampling with amont 130 students. Data collection method used was a documentation, a questionnaire and a test technique. The result showed the Sig = 0,000 < 0,05 for mayor hipotesis. Meanwhile, the result of minor hipotesis showed the Sig = 0,001<0,05; Sig = 0,000<0,05; and Sig = 0,020<0,05. So, there is correlate between beginning skill, learning pattern and background of parents education with mathematics learning achievement on 7th grade students at the whole district of Karangpucung, region of Cilacap at 2013/2014 academic year as collective and partial. It is expected that students care about beginning skill, learning pattern to mathematics learning achievement increasingly.

Abstract

The purposes of this research was to describe the interest and achievement of mathematics in student B eight grade junior high school PIRI 2 Yogyakarta using Quantum Teaching. This research was Class Action Research (CAR). The technique of data done by questionnaire, and tests. The results of the research that increases motivation and mathematics achievement. The average percentage of student motivation questionnaire at pre-cycle was 73,89%, became 80,74 % at cycle I, and became 84,35% at cycle II. Achievement of the KKM also increased. Average of achievement at pre-cycle 47 , 54,66 at the first cycle, and 70,31 at the second cycle. Based the results of the research, learning model of Quantum Teaching can increase motivation and achievement of mathematics. So, teachers can implement Quantum Teaching type as a variation of learning.
