Abstract

Early stimulation, detection and intervention for growth and development of children is a shared responsibility of health and community officials, including cadres of posyandu (integrated service post). The research that has been done is aimed at developing Posyandu cadre, with Role Play approach based on Maternal and child book (MCH book). This study was the classroom action research. The population were posyandu cadres in Bendo Sub-district. The sample size was 33, taken by simple random sampling. Instruments used were questionnaire and observation sheet. Descriptive and multivariate analyzes were used. The 38% of posyandu cadres were of late adulthood, the majority of senior high school (52%). Knowledge before role play: majority enough (88%), after role play, good (73%). Able to measure weight: good (70%). Measuring height: good (51.5%). Ability to measure head circumference well (84.8%). Able to detect developments well 82%. Able to perform vision tests with 94% good. Able to perform hearing test well (100%). Statistical analysis was no relationship between age and education with pretest knowledge. Conclusion: it was necessary to do coaching to Posyandu cadre continuously, with the use of variation of method to make lesson easier to understand. Abstract

One of midwifery student’s competences is can handle postpartum haemorrhage. Thus, it is needed learning of ideal laboratory practice through learning media of uterus model, which it resembles the real uterus organ. Meanwhile, the available learning media of uterus model is still less sufficient, hence, it needs to be conducted a research regarding learning media of uterus model that resembles its original uterus organ so that it will be easier to be understood by the students. Moreover, this research aimed at conducting evaluation of the available uterus model, arranging learning development through uterus model media, and conducting field experiment I. Design of this research was experimental research, which the research was conducted through experiment of making learning media in form of uterus model. Afterwards, it was analyzed by utilizing Test. The result showed evaluation against available uterus model, which most of them were not appropriate with uterus structure (73.16%). Development of learning media resulted uterus model product, which afterwards, it was conducted field experiment I and it showed that there was a significant difference of understanding between available uterus model and developed uterus model (p-value = 0.000). Therefore, it was suggested to conduct further research in stage II that involved test against uterus model function of development result and to recommend the development result to users and professionals. Abstract

Background Blood glucose levels are a critical factor for maintaining the bodywork. Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disorder characterized by elevated blood glucose levels due to abnormalities of insulin secretion and insulin work or both. One of Indonesia's native plants that are suspected of potentially as an antidiabetic is Langsat (Lansium domesticum L.). Empirically, this plant has been used by Maluku community as an antimalarial drug, but there was no scientific report on the utilization of this plant extract as an antihiperglicemia drug. Objective This research was conducted to determine the effect of the infusion cortex of langsat (Lansium domesticum L.) to decrease blood glucose in diabetic rat models.Method Twenty five of Wistar malerats aged 6-8 weeks, weighing 180-200 grams were used in this study. Subjects were induced with Alloxan 110 mg/kgbw. Subjects were grouped into five groups, namely; 1) 10 g/kgbw of the infusion cortex of langsat group, 2) 20 g /kgbw of the infusion cortex of langsat group, and 3) 30 g/kgbw of the infusion cortex of langsat group 4) diabetes group, and 5) control group. The Infusion was given for ± 21 days and blood glucose examination was conducted before and after this tretment. Results There was a significant decrease in blood glucose levels in the 10 g/kgbw, 20 g/kgbw, 30 g/kgbw of the infusion cortex of langsat groups (p<0.05). Best effects offered by 30g/kgbw dose. Conclusion: Infusion cortex of langsat (Lansium domesticum L.) to decrease blood glucose levels in hyperglycemic conditions rats induced by Alloxan. The most effective dose to lower blood glucose levels was 30 g/kgbw. Keywords: Diabetic, Blood glucose, Cortex of langsat (Lansium domesticum L.)

Abstract

The relationship between student interest and learning achievement, until now has not been widely studied. This study aims to explain the relationship between interest and learning achievement of first semester students, Surabaya Ministry of Health Polytechnic, with a cross sectional design. The research subjects were 400 Semester I students of the Poltekkes Kemenkes Surabaya, 2016/2017 Academic Year, which were selected by simple random sampling technique. Data about student interest is obtained from the results of psychological tests at the time of the selection of new students, while data on student achievement is obtained from the Academic Information system. The collected data were analyzed using the Spearman correlation test. Students who have high interest tend to have a better semester achievement index. Keywords: Interest, Learning achievement

Abstract

Fruit flies (Bactrocera Sp) has been known as the main pest to the fruits commodity in Indonesia which caused large economic loss. Pandanus leaf (Pandanus Amarylifolius Raxb) already examined that it was contained some chemical componds that have potential to control pests. The purpose of this research was to analyze the effect of pandanus leaf (Pandanus Amarylifolius Raxb) extract to the mortality of adult phase fruit flies (Bactrocera Sp). The research was done by using laboratory experiment with true experimental post test only controlled group design. The result would be observed only after the animal test exposed by pandanus leaf extraxt with concentration variation was 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, and 25%. Several test also have done in this research such as photochemistry test, spektrofotometer test, and fruit flies (Bactrocera Sp) mortality. The result showed that pandanus leaf (Pandanus Amarylifolius Raxb) extract contain active compound such as flavonoid, essential oil, tanin, saponin, and alkanoid. Statistic result using anova test showed that p value < 0.05 which mean there were a significant difference of fruit flies mortality in each concentrate of pandanus extract and there were significant influence of pandanus extract to the fruit flies (Bactrocera Sp) mortality. Probit results then, showed that LC50 of pandanus leaf (Pandanus Amarylifolius Raxb) extract to fruit flies (Bactrocera Sp) was 5.216%. Abstract

Every pregnant woman would face the risk of life-threatening complications. WHO estimated that about 15% of all pregnant women would develop into complications related to their pregnancies. The purpose of this research was to explore the role of midwife in community empowerment about early detection of pregnancy complication at Proppo Public Health Center of Pamekasan Regency. This research was a qualitative research. Data collection using primary and secondary data and conducted in-depth interview. Respondent in this research was village midwife at Proppo Public Health Center as many as 17 people. The results showed that midwife's role in community empowerment about early detection of pregnancy complication at Proppo Public Health Center was varied. Village midwives at Proppo Public Health Center served as educators, counselors, facilitators are possible depending on the level of knowledge and education of the community include cadres, community leaders, pregnant women and families. Based on this research, socio-cultural role is very influential on the pattern of empowerment. So it needs to be studied more deeply about socio-cultural factors in relation to community empowerment about early detection of pregnancy complications.
