Abstract

The purpose of this article is to identify problems and alternative solutions in design of machine elements learning, in order to be used as a guide to development of learning model in the future. This literature review is conducted through searching journal within the scope of machine design learning with google scholar, www.springer.com, www.elsevier.com, www.sagepub.com and international conference proceedings resources. By searching keywords: machine design, machine design learning, teaching and learning of machine design, mechanical design, machine elements, obtained 100 journals and related proceedings, which selected into 79 journals and proceedings that describe the problems and alternative solutions according to the topic of this article. The results of the study shown the main problems in design of machine elements learning is: the learning still apply the traditional method, the sudject materials is not relevant to the field needs, the students do not have sufficient initial knowledge and experience, the lecturers lack experience guiding students to practice, lack of student English skills, the lack of practical exposure of students, and no validated framework for designing instructional development in changing traditional models of instructional design. Furthermore the alternative solutions offered are: make students learn actively and advance the concrete working mode, the course material is directed to design complex system through project engineering program, develop the model of 'joint experiment' study which discuss field problem, design activities done in the laboratory to apply classroom learning into a real world or apply the virtual laboratory modules or interactive laboratory simulations, and learning is done with a team-based hands-on approach, which provides students with practical experience in designing, fabricating and testing the strength and efficient mechanical systems.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of website quality of BPS Kab. Siak to the satisfaction of website users. In this study the quality of the website is measured by using webqual method. Webqual variables are independent variables consisting of ease of use, quality of information and quality of service interaction. The dependent variable is user satisfaction. The research method used in this research is quantitative correlation method. Sample selected from population of website user of BPS Kab. Siak, calculated using Slovin formula with 10% significance. To test the effect of the independent variable on the dependent variable using multiple linear regression analysis. This research resulted in a positive and significant influence of the three independent variables on user satisfaction, either partially or simultaneously.

Abstract

This study discuss about the practicality of interactive instructional media on Electrical Circuits Learning Process with students grade X in Technical and Vocational Middle School (SMK) 5 Padang. This research will reveal the practicality level of the use of interactive instructional media both by teachers and students after using this interactive learning media in the learning process. Subjects in this study were 2 teachers and 30 students. Questionnaire sheets that have been validated by experts were used as instruments in this study to collect teacher response data and student responses related to media practicality. The data obtained is processed using descriptive analysis techniques by referring to the systematic steps of practicality testing. The results showed that based on the teacher's response, the practicality level of the media was very practical, whereas based on the students' responses, the practicality level of learning media was also very practical. So, it can be concluded that interactive instructional media is very practical to be used by teachers and students in the Electrical Circuit learning process.

Abstract

Increased energy needs in the community can have an impact on the scarcity of fuel oil so that it becomes a dependence on energy as a main requirement. The development of product diversification in the form of mixed sugar cane and durian skin briquettes in an effort to obtain alternative fuels. Renewable energy sources that have the potential to be used as fuel for briquettes made from raw sugar cane and durian skin. Efforts and innovations of mixed sugar cane and durian skin briquettes are produced as alternative fuels so that they have characteristics of quality and performance, namely the calorific value. The stages of testing and evaluation of mix sugar cane and durian skin briquettes are needed before being developed and recommended as alternative fuels. Through the technology of the process of making briquette products with compacting and optimizing the content composition and use of adhesive types to obtain the heating value. From this study can be produced mixed sugar cane and durian skin briquettes which are recommended as alternative fuels. The highest characteristics of the heating value of mixed of sugar cane and durian skin briquettes with gambir adhesive were obtained at 16967.91 kJ/Kg and density of 682.23 Kg/m3. Briquettes (biomass) that have a high density have a high calorific value. Comparison of the composition of the mixture in making briquettes is 40%: 40%: 20%. The composition of the mixture between the raw material and the adhesive, the amount of grain, the force of compacting greatly affects the characteristics of the calorific value and density of the briquettes.

Abstract

Remote sensing is a science or arts to acquired information on object, area, as well as certain phenomenon without direct contact with the object, area or the phenomenon. Thus for geothermal manifestation phenomenon, ones could obtain the data by means of remote sensing using satellite; the data would be satellite image. The study was conducted on area of Kebar District, Manokwari Kabupaten, Papua Barat Province to obtain new possible geothermal manifestation on the area. The data used where ASTER L1B, SRTM image, and RBI map. The data were processed as follow: Delineation evaluation, NDVI Analysis, Surface temperature spreading analysis, and classification. from the data processing, the study found several new geothermal manifestations at Kebar Dsitrict, Manokwari Kabupaten, Papua Barat Province.

Abstract

This article was based on the results of classroom action research of STEM approach in investigating pumpkins at first grade of SDN 02 Aur Kuning Kota Bukittinggi. The students learn to know deeply about pumpkins that easily found in their sorrounding by investigating and combining science, mathematic, enggineering, drawing, and art in their learning process. The subject of this project was the first grader of 02 Aur Kuning elementary school students in Kota Bukittinggi. The methode used classroom action research methode in two cycles with two meeting per each cylce. Indikator of critical thinking that used in this study were basic operations of reasoning and metacognitive knowledge. The results of this research showed that by applying STEM approach in investigating pumpkin improved the learning outcome and students creative thinking in learning science and mathematic at elementary school in Bukittinggi.

Abstract

Rumah dengan kategori non-engineering houses saat terjadinya gempa banyak mengalami kerusakan, hal ini disebabkan dinding rumah dengan bahan batu bata yang tidak memenuhi persyaratan mutu yang ada. Pemerintah telah mengupayakan dengan menetapkan petunjuk teknis untuk rumah aman gempa (key requirement for safer houses), namun demikian batu bata yang telah dan sedang digunakan masyarakat sampai saat ini masih belum dapat dijamin kualitasnya. Solusi untuk meningkatkan mutu yang dihasilkan, salah satunya dengan membuat batu bata yang bermutu dan aman terhadap gempa dengan bahan baku campuran hasil sedimentasi dari erosi daerah penambangan batu gamping (limestone). Pemanfaatan hasil sedimentasi ini sekaligus sebagai upaya mengurangi dampak laju sedimentasi pada sungai Batang Arau kota Padang. Pembuatan batu bata dengan proporsi campuran tanah hasil sedimentasi 50%, 45%, 40%, 35%, 30%, 25%, 20%, 15%, 10%, 5%, selanjutnya pengujian mutu batu bata mengacu SNI 15-2094-2000. Hasil pengujian diperoleh, penyerapan air batu bata campuran bahan sedimentasi l4,16% (<20%:memenuhi standart SNI), kuat tekan rata-rata batu bata campuran bahan sedimentasi sebesar 32,56 kg/cm2 (≥30 kg/cm2:memenuhi persyaratan kuat tekan minimum membangun rumah aman gempa) serta didapatkan komposisi tanah lempung 70% dan bahan sedimentasi 30% memberikan mutu bata tertinggi

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membandingkan hasil belajar Keterampilan Komputer dan Pengelolaan Informasi (KKPI) siswa kelas XI yang menggunakan multimedia interaktif dengan yang menggunakan modul cetak ditinjau dari kreativitas di SMK N 2 Bukittinggi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen semu dengan sampel satu kelas eksperimen dan satu kelas kontrol yang dipilih dengan teknik cluster porpusive sampling. Data kreativitas siswa diperoleh dengan menggunakan Torrance Tests of Creative Thinking (TTCT). Hasil penelitian dianalisis menggunakan analisis varian dua arah dan uji t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa : 1) hasil belajar siswa yang menggunakan multimedia interaktif lebih baik dibandingkan dengan yang menggunakan modul cetak, 2) hasil belajar siswa berkreativitas tinggi yang menggunakan multimedia interaktif lebih baik dibandingkan siswa berkreativitas tinggi yang menggunakan modul 3) hasil belajar siswa berkreativitas rendah yang menggunakan multimedia interaktif juga lebih baik dibandingkan siswa berkreativitas rendah yang menggunakan modul cetak, dan 4) terdapat interaksi antara strategi pembelajaran yang menggunakan multimedia interaktif atau modul cetak dengan kreativitas siswa dalam mempengaruhi hasil belajar KKPI siswa kelas XI di SMK N 2 Bukittinggi

Abstract

Knowledge management is an organization of knowledge held by individuals within an organization. With knowledge management,an individual knowledge can be own by organization so it can give a benefit to organization in order to enhance business competitiveness.Management and documentation of the knowledge in order to become a reference for all the employee within the organization are need a development and implementation of appropriate knowledge management system. The implementation of knowledge management system must be supported by specific features to store and organize the existing knowledge.To overcome this problem, a knowledge management system was designed in the form of a web-based programming system using PHP programming languages ​​with GTFW and MySQL Framework. Knowledge management systems are equiped with data search facilities, documentation and records of problems, information and download features from each of available documents.

Abstract

PDS adalah kegiatan Revitalisasi LPTK yang mengharuskan dosen mengalami langsung bagaimana menjadi guru. SMKN 5 Padang merupakan salah satu Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan bidang teknologi yang memiliki bidang keahlian teknologi Teknik Instlasi Tenaga Listrik, tujuan program keahlian ini adalah menghasilkan lulusan yang berkompeten secara teoritis dan praktis dalam bidang Instalasi Tenaga Listrik. Untuk mencapai hal tersebut proses pembelajaran Instalasi Motor Listrik tidak bisa dilakukan hanya dengan model pembelajaran konvensional yaitu metode ceramah dan tanya jawab untuk penyampaian materi kemudian dilanjutkan dengan siswa melaksanakan praktikum berdasarkan gambar dan petunjuk yang diberikan oleh guru selama penyampaian materi pembelajaran. Untuk itu dilakukan penelitian tindakan kelas (action research) yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi psikomotor siswa dengan penerapan model pembelajaran Project Based Learning (PjBL) pada proses pembelajaran Instalasi Motor Listrik di kelas XI. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pada ranah psikomotor siklus 1 telah terjadi peningkatan hasil belajar siswa jika dibandingkan dengan hasil belajar dengan model pembelajaran yang sebelumnya. Kemudian peningkatan hasil belajar siswa semakin membaik pada siklus 2 setelah dilakukan beberapa penyempurnaan dalam pelaksanaanya. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran Project Based Learning dapat meningkatkan kompetensi psikomotor siswa pada proses pembelajaran Instalasi Motor Listrik.
