Abstract

Utilization of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) provides increasing demands on decreasing traffic congestions, transportation safety, and environmental problems as well as increasing transportation capacity. Over the past few years, one of the most disruptive and transformational technologies, blockchain technology, has emerged. As a result of offering more security, privacy, traceability, transparency, and decentralized authority, the utilization of blockchain technology in ITS have increased drastically. Despite this increase, there is a lack of a good understanding of what are the Critical Success Factors (CSF) to support IT providers for designing their products properly, and to provide industry leaders to focus on the main drivers of their outstanding projects. This study aims to explore and analyze CSFs that can facilitate the success of blockchain-based ITS, which has so far been neglected despite its remarkable relevance. In doing so, eleven primary studies, identified as a result of conducting a systematic literature review (SLR), were taken as a baseline to develop the model of CSFs. Additionally, since the number of existing studies related to CSFs for blockchain and ITS are limited, an expert panel was formed to evaluate and contribute to the model. Abstract

In modern era, a wide range of smart industries is being focus on automation-based applications. Various technologies are rapidly implementing in Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) for manufacturing sectors that helping to achieve advanced schedule production framework and on time delivery of products. The integration of IIoT platforms with the blockchain are challenging service in manufacturing system. The primary objective of this article is to characterize various issues and challenges that are implementing IIoT and blockchain in industries. The proposed work is an integration of IIoT and blockchain in industrial processes for solving the security issues in real-time. Also, identifying various enablers of blockchain and issues of IIoT from smart industries manufacturing using a survey tool is formed in the form of questionnaire. Based on these responses Decision Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory (DEMATEL) technique has been implemented for categorizing these challenges into cause and effect. In this paper, we introduce the general layout with their key issues and challenges of IIoT and blockchain that signifies the safety requirements to design the IIoT and blockchain. Further, we describe how IIoT can be integrated to the blockchain for smart Industrial applications. Finally, various recommendations are the proposed to upcoming IIoT and blockchain developments. The proposed work will be highly beneficial for the smart industries to develop a next generation IIoT and blockchain based framework.

Abstract

Modern IT technologies shaped the shift in economic models with many advantages on cost, optimization, and time to market. This economic shift has increased the need for transparency and traceability in supply chain platforms to achieve trust among partners. Distributed ledger technology (DLT) is proposed to enable supply chains systems with trust requirements. In this paper, we investigate the existing DLT-based supply chain projects to show their technical part and limitations and extract the tools and techniques used to avoid the DLT scalability issue. We then set the requirements for a typical DLT-based supply chain in this context. The analyses are based on the scalability metrics such as computing, data storage, and transaction fees that fit the typical supply chain system. This paper highlights the effects of Blockchain techniques on scalability and their incorporation in supply chains systems. It also presents other existing solutions that can be applied to the supply chain. The investigation shows the necessity of having such tools in supply chains and developing them to achieve an efficient and scalable system. Abstract

Computer crime is a form of criminal behavior in which the use of computer technology and information systems is manifested as a mode of crime or the computer is used as a means or purpose of perpetration with which is producing some relevant criminal consequence. Computer crime is also an unlawful violation of property in which computer data is intentionally altered (manipulated by a computer), destroyed (computer sabotaged) or used in conjunction with hardware (theft of time). Objective of this paper is consideration of using new computer technology in everyday life. Unfortunately, some users using new technology for criminal acts. For Analysis, author use official resources from books, scientific papers and online resources. Even though it is a new technology, police and justice successfully deal with different types of computercrimes.

Abstract

Indonesia is a country rich in cultural diversity, with each culture having its own regional language characterizing the area. The Muyu language is one of the regional languages, used by the Muyu tribal community in Boven Digoel Regency, Papua Province. The language is now under the threat of abandonment by the Muyu community, especially the younger generation. One of the causes is the lack of written learning media for the language to be inherited by older speakers in the form of books and electronic dictionaries. This study will try to develop an Android-based Muyu-Indonesian-English dictionary application using the waterfall method (classic life cycle). The aim is to test students' preferences and attitudes towards the development of Muyu language knowledge. The research sample consisted of 40 respondents consisting of Muyu students at Musamus University. A questionnaire was used to measure the extent of student responses to the use of the Muyu-Indonesian-English dictionary application. The test results show that the system has no errors in carrying out the functions that have been created previously at the manufacturing stage. The three-language Muyu-Indonesian-English dictionary application is able to search for vocabulary properly and correctly in Muyu, Indonesian, and English. The attitude of students towards the usefulness of this dictionary application is measured at the medium category, meaning that the application is useful as a tool to facilitate students of the Muyu language, especially Android users, in finding vocabulary in three languages, and can be a tool for learning the Muyu language and preserving local wisdom so that it does not become extinct. Doi: 10.28991/esj-2021-SP1-06 Full Text: PDF

Abstract

Minimum Redundancy Linear Arrays (MRLAs) and Uniform Linear Arrays (ULAs) investigation conducted with the possibility of using them in future 5G smart devices. MRLAs are designed to minimize the number of sensor pairs with the same spatially correlated delay. It eliminates selected antennas from the entire composite antenna array and preserves all possible antenna spacing.  MRLAs have attractive features for linear sparse arrays, even if the built-in surface is deformed, it works without problems. To our knowledge, MRLAs have not been applied to smart devices so far. In this work, a 7-element ULAs and 4-element MRLAs (same aperture) were used for the simulation. The Half Power Beamwidth (HPBW) is 0.666 and the Null-to-Null Beamwidth ( ) is 1.385 in ψ-space. In comparison, the standard 4-element arrays are 1.429 and 3.1416, while the standard 7-element linear arrays are 0.801 and 1.795 respectively. Experimental results show that 4-element MLRAs have a narrower mean beam, much higher sidelobes and shallow nulls. Abstract

The use of IoT in precision agriculture is very important in the process of increasing crop production. The local supply of onions in Merauke Regency have not fulfilled the demand, thus the high price in the market. Most of the demand for onion are still fulfilled from outside the region, as the production of local farmers has not been optimal. The weather has been identified as one of the factors that affect the quality of onion production. This study aims to create an automatic monitoring system based on an Arduino microcontroller to measure soil moisture and temperature in onion patches. The method used is to design an automatic monitoring device to determine soil moisture and temperature so that it can provide information about the growth and maintenance of onion patches. The Arduino microcontroller is connected to a reading sensor that is integrated with component devices to maintain a stable temperature and soil moisture. All devices and components are designed to operate in a custom-made environment in the form of a greenhouse prototype. Abstract

This study focused on teachers’ perception for integrating educational robots into learning and the feedback of teachers and students who used an education robot prototype as a part of learning. Data were collected from 510 primary school teachers who were used in a confirmatory analysis of factor model. Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) indicated a good fit with a six-factor model in the observed data, which could be presented through six dimensions of robotic education quality, including social interaction, cognitive function, teaching method, learner characteristics, main features, and content. The prototype-testing phase was carried out using 5th grade students at a primary school in Thailand. The robot was tested for 10 hours, which included 20 students participating in the focus group. The research results showed that integrating the six dimensions of robotic education into the educational robot prototype resulted in a strong positive improvement in the focus groups learners’ behavior and supported the instructors during the learning process. In contrast, some teachers lacked experience and confidence with robots integrated with LMS, which caused challenging obstacles in teaching. The results were achieved when integrating the six-factor model into education robots to improve student learning. Abstract

The research aims to test the model of integrated DOI theory and TOE framework to predict Cloud Computing (CC) decision-making intentions of SMEs, Izmir, Turkey. The survey data was collected from 140 Information Technology (IT) decision-makers via Google forms survey tool. Confirmatory factor analyses were made to examine the decision-making approach of SMEs. The study revealed that the variance of top management support and complexity explained 29.8% of the decision-making approach to CC adoption. The originality of the study is that the research on cloud computing in Turkey is scarce and not comprehensive either. In addition, they are not for Turkish SMEs. This research will bring together an introductory plan for cloud providers to understand the intentions of SMEs for adopting cloud computing. This research will also provide scholars with an in-depth analysis of the status contributing to the academic research in the field of ICT development in developing countries. Abstract

A lava flood disaster is a volcanic hazard that often occurs when heavy rains are happening at the top of a volcano. This flood carries volcanic material from upstream to downstream of the river, affecting populous areas located quite far from the volcano peak. Therefore, an advanced early warning system of cold lava floods is inarguably vital. This paper aims to present a reliable, remote, Early Warning System (EWS) specifically designed for lava flood detection, along with its disaster communication system. The proposed system consists of two main subsystems: lava flood detection and disaster communication systems. It utilizes a modified automatic rain gauge; a novel configured vibration sensor; Fuzzy Tree Decision algorithm; ESP microcontrollers that support IoT, and disaster communication tools (WhatsApp, SMS, radio communication). According to the experiment results, the prototype of rainfall detection using the tipping bucket rain gauge sensor can measure heavy and moderate rainfall intensities with 81.5% accuracy. Meanwhile, the prototype of earthquake vibration detection using a geophone sensor can remove noise from car vibrations with a Kalman filter and measure vibrations in high and medium intensity with an accuracy of 89.5%. Measurements from sensors are sent to the webserver. The disaster mitigation team uses data from the webserver to evacuate residents using the disaster communication method.
