Abstract

Researchers in Guangxi Province, China, are doing research on primary school teachers to investigate the relationship between environmental aesthetics, aesthetic experiences, and sustainable development. To conducting an analysis of the data collected from 435 elementary school teachers who participated in a structured survey, Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with SMART PLS software was utilized. According to the conclusions of the study, there is a large and beneficial association between environmental aesthetics, aesthetic experiences, and sustainable development. Based on the findings, it is possible that enhancing environmental aesthetics could result in an increase in the number of aesthetic experiences, which could be beneficial to educational sustainable development. The research is restricted to a narrow geographic area and relies on self-reported data, both of which may restrict its capacity to be generalized. The research demonstrates that environmental aesthetics influence the educational experiences of primary teachers, notwithstanding the constraints that have been mentioned. Abstract

This study fills a significant vacuum in the literature and offers insightful information, especially pertinent to the Arabic and Gulf areas. In support of the socioeconomic development and diversification initiatives in these areas, it encourages the creation of educational policies and practices that can improve student job chances. Educators and policymakers play a crucial role in implementing these recommendations, ensuring that effective STEM education equips future generations with the knowledge and skills to navigate and secure digital environments, mitigating risks posed by cyber threats. By preparing students to excel in STEM disciplines, they ensure that the future workforce is ready to contribute to and shape a safer, more innovative future. Today's STEM workforce requires continuous education to stay abreast of advancements in STEM fields. Online delivery of STEM courses enables higher education institutions to collaborate effectively with industry partners, minimizing disruptions to productivity. This study aims to evaluate the enhancement of students' STEM knowledge and skills through e-learning platforms using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The dataset comprises 212 participants and 15 indicators, analyzed using measurement and structural models. Results indicate significant findings supporting hypotheses: E-Learning (E.L.) improving Student employment opportunities (SEO) (B=0.539, t=8.884, p=0.000) and E.L. improving STEM (B=0.465, t=8.849, p=0.000), validating H1 and H2, respectively. H3 explores how possessing STEM knowledge mediates E-Learning's impact on SEO, revealing a notable indirect relationship (B=0.082, t=2.303, p=0.021). Integrating E-Learning with STEM fosters a robust digital infrastructure, addressing talent shortages and improving human resource management amidst global technological advances. Abstract

The present study discusses the issues of bullying prevention in secondary schools with the objective of finding out about the efficiency of the experiential learning method in this context. Within a more extensive research study under realisation, the method of pedagogical experiment was applied to a sample of 100 vocational school students, and its partial results are presented. A set of experiential activities was prepared for teachers and used by them in the experimental group (50 students) within a 10-month bullying prevention program. In the control group (50 students), traditional methods of bullying prevention were used. To examine the effect of the intervention, the Olweus Bullying Questionnaire was administered to the participating students before and after the intervention (pre-test and post-test). The obtained research results suggest that the implementation of experiential learning activities contributed to a more positive school climate and favourable conditions for the realisation of bullying prevention in the participating school. Although given the limits of the research study, the present findings cannot be generalised to the entire population of vocational school students, the study brings unique data that fill the gap in current knowledge and create a basis for further research activities. Doi: 10.28991/ESJ-2024-SIED1-026 Full Text: PDF

Abstract

Objectives: This study aims to investigate the relationship between Emotional Intelligence (EI) and academic achievement within educational settings. It seeks to determine how different EI models”specifically, Ability EI and Trait EI”impact students' academic performance, behavior, engagement, and motivation. The goal is to provide insights that can guide the integration of EI into educational practices to foster a more supportive and effective learning environment. Methods/Analysis: The study is based on a systematic review of sixty-four (64) peer-reviewed studies published between 2016 and 2023. These studies include randomized controlled trials (RCTs), longitudinal studies, and meta-analyses. The selected studies were analyzed to explore the effects of EI on various academic outcomes, including performance, behavioral engagement, and motivation. Findings: The analysis reveals that both Ability EI and Trait EI are positively associated with academic success. These models of EI appear to contribute significantly to the development of key skills such as emotional control, empathy, and problem-solving, which in turn support effective classroom management and academic achievement. The findings suggest that incorporating EI into educational curricula can lead to improved communication, better problem-solving abilities, and enhanced relationships between students and faculty. These improvements can create a more conducive learning environment and enhance overall academic outcomes. Novelty/Improvement: This study adds to the existing literature by offering a comprehensive review of recent studies that examine the role of EI in academic settings. Abstract

Objective: This study aims to compare the effectiveness of motion graphics versus pamphlets for educating young adults about depression. Methods: A multicenter randomized controlled trial was conducted from April to June 2024; participants were randomly assigned to Group A (motion-graphic media) or Group B (pamphlets) in a 1:1 ratio. Pre- and post-intervention knowledge scores were collected, and satisfaction scores were collected after intervention from group A. Findings: A total of 78 participants with a median age of 19.0 years (IQR 2.0) and predominantly women (64.1%), completed pre- and post-intervention questionnaires. The median knowledge score for Group A increased from 15.0 (IQR 4.0) pre-intervention to 18.0 (IQR 3.0) post-intervention, while Group B's scores improved from 12.0 (IQR 4.0) to 16.0 (IQR 3.0). Post-intervention scores were significantly higher in Group A compared to Group B (p = 0.002). Participants in Group A also reported high satisfaction with the educational material. Novelty:This study highlights the potential of innovative media for patient education, particularly in addressing mental health issues. Abstract

Objective: This study aims to analyze the impact of organizational management on motivation, satisfaction and commitment in teacher training in the context of Chilean quality assurance policies that emphasize a positive school climate and good coexistence. Methods: Using a Likert scale with a Cronbach's alpha of 0.957, we surveyed 62 students in a mathematics teacher education program. A multiple linear regression analysis was conducted to examine how motivation, satisfaction, and engagement were related to organizational management and climate. Findings: The results show that motivation and satisfaction are significant predictors, explaining 61.5% of the variance in organizational management, while commitment also influences climate, but to a lesser extent. These results underscore the importance of motivation and satisfaction for effective organizational management and suggest that these factors may be more important than commitment in shaping a positive organizational climate. Abstract

Objectives: This study aims to explore the impact of Team-Based Learning (TBL) on anxiety levels (AL) among master's students in Data Science, particularly how TBL influences students' anxiety in academic settings and contributes to their engagement, skill development, and learning awareness. Methods/Analysis: The study implemented TBL in a Data Science master's course for one semester, employing both qualitative and quantitative methods. Data were collected through surveys and individual interviews, followed by exploratory and statistical analyses conducted in Jupyter Notebook, SPSS Statistics, and Excel. This mixed-methods approach provided comprehensive insights into students' experiences and perceptions regarding TBL and anxiety. Findings: The analysis revealed that TBL positively affects students' anxiety levels, contributing to enhanced engagement, individual and group skills, and awareness of the learning process. However, certain TBL elements were found to potentially increase anxiety, suggesting a need for tailored adjustments to the approach. Novelty/Improvement: This study underscores TBL's potential to reduce anxiety and foster active learning, emphasizing the importance of student-centered teaching. Abstract

This study employed a survey-based approach supported by the Community of Inquiry (CoI) framework to investigate the effect of the Metaverse on education, with a special focus on collaborative learning, opportunities, and immersive experiences. Data collected from 337 university students provided insights regarding the perceptions, opportunities, and experiences linked with metaverse technologies in educational settings. Study findings remained supportive towards the preliminary hypotheses. The first hypothesis confirmed a significant effect on Collaborative Learning. The second hypothesis also indicated a significant effect of metaverse technology on Learning Opportunities. Finally, the third hypothesis, focusing on Immersive Experiences, also remained significant. Overall, the respondents agreed that the Metaverse is a positive addition, improving their learning experiences and motivating them to engage in learning activities. Abstract

The digitalization of strategic planning is crucial for Oman's postsecondary higher education. This study focuses on the impact of automating and digitalizing strategic planning management to bridge gaps and improve decision-making. Aligning strategies with goals through digitalization enhances academic excellence and global recognition, providing valuable insights for Omani higher education managers. Investigating strategic planning automation in non-Western settings, it advocates for integrating digital tools to advance academia globally. The main objective is to assess how automation and digital information affect these institutions' effectiveness, accuracy, and efficiency in strategic planning. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) used as the primary methodology. The dataset consists of 224 participants and 15 indicators. Both the measurement model and structural model were employed for analysis and testing. The results show that a two-tailed test with t=-1.96 at a 95% significance level found automation significantly affects strategic planning (B=0.36, t=2.97, p=0.000), and digitalization significantly affects strategic planning (B=0.30, t=2.68, p=0.01). Mediation analysis of automation as a mediator revealed a noteworthy indirect relationship between digitalization and effective strategic planning (B=0.30, t=2.96, p=0.000). While automation offers many advantages, digitalization enables a more comprehensive and fundamental change that supports various strategic goals. By integrating digitalization into their strategic planning, organizations can create a robust digital infrastructure that improves data capabilities, encourages innovation, and boosts agility, providing a sense of security about the future of Omani higher education. Abstract

This study investigates the adoption of Metaverse-based immersive learning in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), an area that has been understudied and lacks an understanding of factors influencing the acceptance of this digital platform. In contrast to traditional mobile or e-learning, the Metaverse facilitates all sorts of unique immersive experiences including virtual simulations and cultural dialogues that can aid your process for language acquisition and cultural understanding. However, its reception in the field of TESOL is yet to be substantiated through empirical evidence. The present study explores the effects of constructs such as Perceived ease of use (PEU), Perceived usefulness (PUS), Attitude (ATT), Subjective norm (SBN) and Perceived behavioural control (PBC) on students' Intention to Use Metaverse (IUM) in TESOL context. Data collected from 736 university students in Jordan were analyzed using structural equation modelling (SEM) with a combined Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) framework. Results indicate that in terms of direct effects, PEU strongly influences ATT (β = 0.566) and SBN (β = 0.448), whereas PUS regulates ATT (β = 0.514) and SBN (β= 0.482). Path coefficients for the predictive factors of IUM”ATT, SBN, and PBC were 0.326, 0.641, and 0.516 respectively. A J48 decision tree validated by machine learning was able to predict 91.22% of IUM with good accuracy. The results reveal that Metaverse-based TESOL has gradually become part of student habits despite their limited access to technology.
