Abstract

Preparation of human resources that are well-qualified and excellent is both an option and orientation for all types and levels of education. Madrasah as community-based educational institutions (community based education) have responsibility in preparing human resources and superior quality. To be able to continue actively preparing qualified human resources and excellent insight, innovative development of superior madrasah is required; which is developed to achieve excellence in output. To achieve this excellence, the input, the process of education, teachers and education personnels, management, education, and supporting facilities should be directed to support the achievement of this goal. Excellenct madrasas should be designed in accordance with the vision, mission and institutional objectives, and the need analysis of academic and institutional system. This should be done with an adequate understanding of the geographic and cultural context.Keywords: Excellent madrasah, educational development, quality education

Abstract

This study aims to describe the improvement of teachers' teaching ability, student learning activities, and student learning outcomes in the subjects of English at MTs Negeri Model Sorong. Subjects of this study are English teachers and the eighth grade students of MTs Negeri Model Sorong in Academic Year 2015/2016. This research is a Lesson Study-based School Action Research using a qualitative approach. Data are collected through observation, documentation, and test. The findings are that the application of Lesson Study provides a positive impact on upgrading teachers' professional skills at MTs Negeri Model Sorong. This improvement has an important impact on student motivation and learning outcomes in the English subject.Keywords: Lesson study, teaching ability, learning activities, learning outcome, English

Abstract

This paper is a hadith study on the concept of teachers' ethics according to Abu Isa al-Tirmidzi in his Sunan book. This concept is very relevant to the professionalism of the Islamic religious education teachers, as stated by the Law No.14 of 2005 on Teachers and Lecturers. In Islamic education, teachers have important meaning and roles, because not only that they have a responsibility, and determine the direction of education, they are also central in shaping individual Muslims to be in line with the educational goals of Islam. Therefore, Islam highly appreciates and respects the people who are knowledgeable and working as educators. Islam elevates and glorifies them more than other Muslims who have no knowledge and not educators. In order to obtain that award and honor, they, in the process of teaching, should observe good ethics. A teacher must possess honesty, humility, transparency in the teaching of science, and has no favoritism.Keywords: Teachers’ ethics, al-Tirmidzi, Islamic education

Abstract

الملخص: لم تكن قضية تكامل العلوم أمرا جديدا، إذ يمكن العثور عليه فى أعمال كلاسيكية للعلماء المسلمين، ومن خلالها، ظهر علماء معترف بهم عالميا، وتطويرات الجامعة الإسلامية الحكومية بعد كونها مجرد معهد عال للعلوم الدينية، بالنظر إلى نواحى الضعف فيها، إلى أن تصبح جامعة لها  كليات شرعية وعلمية تقنية، والتطويرات الضخمة فى جامعة الأزهر الشريف بمصر على مر تاريخها، حيث بدأت آخر القرن العاشر الميلادى فى صورة حلقات دراسية، إلى أن أضحت لها الآن أكثر من 70 كلية، بين كليات شرعية ولغوية وعلمية إنسانية وعلمية تقنية ومهنية عملية، لا تخلو عن أفكار وديناميات وثنائيات وخلافات أو صراعات فكرية فى التكامل المعرفى للعلوم الشرعية والعلوم غير الشرعية. وإن خريجى الجامعات الإسلامية والأزهر خاصة بعيدين عن مواقف التطرف، وإنما اتخذوا الموقف الوسط فى الدين والعلم تجاه التعددية الملية والثقافية والمعرفية ومن أجل ذلك نرى ضرورة تفعيل التكامل المعرفى فى هذا العصر بمنظار التجديد والقراءات الثلاث والمهمات الثلاث للإنسان فى سبيل إعادة النهوض بالأمة. ومن الضرورى إعداد الجيل الحالى والقادم تربويا على التكامل المعرفى أى التفنن على أساس التخصص الراسخ.الكلمات الاسترشادية: التكامل المعرفى، الوسطية، تفعيل التكامل، القراءات الثلاث، أساسية التخصص

Abstract

This study aims to perform a significance test of (1) the positive communication within the family on students’ assertive behavior, (2) the teachers’ interpersonal communication on students’ assertive behavior, and (4) the positive family communication and teachers’ interpersonal communication simultaneously on students’ assertive behavior. This is a quantitative study using a survey questionnaire in data collection. This research is conducted at MAN Model Manado. The research population is all students of the 10th, 11th, and 12th grade, totaling 1406. The sample size of 87 students is selected by a simple random sampling. The results show that (1) while the level of the positive communication within the family, and of the students’ assertive behaviour perceived by the students is relatively low, the level of the teachers’ interpersonal communication is relatively high; (2) a  positive communication within the family has a significant effect on students’ assertive behavior; (3) an  interpersonal communication has a significant effect on students’ assertive behavior; and (4)  a positive family communication and teachers’ interpersonal communication simultaneously have a significant effect on students’ assertive behavior.Keywords: Positive communications within family, teachers’ interpersonal communications, students’ assertive behaviors
