Abstract

The Trowulan site in Mojokerto Regency, East Java, is one of the important sites that is utilized both ideologically, academically and economically at the same time. Since Wardenaar, who was assigned by Sir Thomas Raffles to observe ancient relics in Mojokerto, and in 1815 succeeded in making documents in the form of pictures and descriptions, the urge to research this site is getting bigger, even today. One of the striking results of the research is that the archeology is very closely related to the Majapahit Kingdom, the last Hindu work in Java which flourished from 1293 to 1478. In particular, the various scattered relics indicate that Trowulan was an ancient city. Not only that, other archaeological activities, namely conservation, are also being carried out to this day.

Abstract

Given the limited number of cultural resources (finite), non-renewable, non-movable, and fragile, the use of cultural resources must be oriented towards conservation. Therefore, in an effort to utilize cultural resources, it should be used with care. Then in terms of the development of cultural assets, we must also look at the value of various interests, so that the various conflicts of interest that exist can be suppressed as far as possible so that there is no attempt to defeat each other, but mutually beneficial.

Abstract

The name "Kauman" means the dwelling place of a group of religious experts, where the village is closely related to the existence of the Yogyakarta Sultanate Palace. This palace was founded around 1755, based on the Giyanti agreement which divided the Mataram Kingdom into two, namely the Yogyakarta Sultanate and the Surakarta Sunanate. Meanwhile, the establishment of Kauman Village was not much different from the founding of the Kraton Yogyakarta, because the Grand Mosque which was located in Kauman Village was founded in 1773. Thus, the existence of this village is certainly not much different from the establishment of the Grand Mosque.

Abstract

In order to seek national identity and to improve morals, one way can be referred to from the cultural heritage of our own ancestors through historical and archaeological sources (relief). One of the important aspects in the relief that needs to be developed and disseminated is mainly the stories of fables and symbols that are implied in the puppet reliefs. The story of the fable is very good for providing educational guidance to children and parents so that they have good character and refer to the noble roots of their ancestors.
