Politeia: Jurnal Ilmu Politik is a peer-reviewed journal published by Indonesian Political Science Association (AIPI) and collaboration with the Laboratory Department of Political Science based in Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU). Abstract

How can explain the phenomena of Indian democracy? This study intends to answer this ques-tion. To have the use of Robert A. Dahl views and all at once criticize his views, this study also tries to explain about the secret of Indian democracy succeeded. The point is India is the po-verty country and there are no one of poverty country in the world have democracy for long time. Obvious have found that democracy in India has a lot of problem. And there are indica-tions about premise of problem Indian democracy as impact of economic variable. Mainly be-cause Indian democracies prevalent exist adjoin with human right violation, poverty, and “jati” (the system of caste). Apiece as the abnormal fact because there are exactly “reinforce” de-mocracy in India. Hence, in this study the term of “permissive democracy” used to describe the uniqueness of Indian democracy condition. As implication of the theories, this study argue that clarification about the phenomena of democracy at poverty state need special concept as a dif-fering with developed countries because however there are difficulty to meaningful about de-mocracy without economic welfares. Absolutely, democracy cannot sufficient and cannot sur-vive without economic welfares.Keywords: democracy, permissive democracy, economic walfares.

Abstract

Indonesia nationalism evocation as the same manner as triggered by social organization and politics like Budi Utomo and Syarikat Islam has been disband but later become a strength. This happened because there are the chance equality, aspiration equality, and ideology equality. In other hand outside of Indonesia also felt this effect. The one of country that feels of this is Ma-laysia. This study focused on Indonesia nationalism effect to Malaysia nationalism evocation. Especially explain about how the process of political transformation and Indonesia nationalism to Malaysia. Based on historical approach this study has found that Indonesia nationalism and Malaysia nationalism evocation each other related. Furthermore he came to be as political identities. Political party in Malaysia like UMNO, PAS is the one of organization that has many influenced by spirit of Indonesia nationalism evocation effect. They always exist in Malaysia political configuration.Keywords: Political Transformation, Nationalism revival.

Abstract

This study description about relation between cartoon and politics in general, and description they dependability relationship in political history in Indonesia. In fact, cartoon, become indi-visible part from event and phenomenon political. Cartoon have symbolic meaning that show existence of suggestion, criticism, support and resistance to political object like executive, leg-islative, political party, and society. In consequence, its not wrong if told that cartoon existence in a country becomes indicator to see weather seriously a country do democracy or not. Car-toon is way to submit political message indirectly, although its comments not always will be im-pressing positive. But, this assessment is relative because cartoon can used as the government propaganda. Cartoon history in Indonesia indicates that at a period of government Soeharto cartoon publication gets tight monitoring. At a period of government Soekarno, it’s becomes political propaganda tool, both domestic and international relation. So, besides as the work of art and political art, in politics, cartoon is very strategic communication means.Keywords: Cartoon, Political communications, Political art.

Abstract

This study focused to explain about relation between state and civil society. Especially discuss opposition between them in political perspective approach.  Actually state and civil society are two of vital importance political elements in perspective politics. Both of them, is concept that expand along with era growth. Concept of civil society emerged as respond from state role that too dominant in society and concept of state emerged as respond from society that each other battle. But now, concept of civil society and state has expanded. There are there models rela­tionships by them. First, civil society relations stands up as shield for society and state behavior that tend to hegemonic, authoritarian and repressive. Second, if state not hegemonic, civil so­ciety will emerge as state partner in executing public interest. Third, if public life already ac­commodated by country, civil society can do its function in complementary where civil society emerges to equip society needs. So, in this perspective concept of civil society comprehended as the element of de­mocratization acceleration. Keywords: Civil society, State behaviour, democratization.

Abstract

The representation of women is one of the most highlighted in the general elections in Indonesia in the last period.This is because the representation of women in the legislature is very minimal. This study describe female behavior in determining political choices in the legislative election in 2014. Especially at dapil 2 (electoral district) in the Kota Medan.  The findings of the study is there are three approaches that can see and analyze how the behavior of voters (women) determine the political choices in elections. First, sociological approach; Second, a psychological approach; Thirdly, the approach of rational voters.Female voter behavior influenced the figures and the track record of candidates,there is a tendency to choose the incumbent candidates, independently, saw the vision, mission, or the track record of candidates. The study used the approach to political ideology. This study method is descriptive. Collecting data with depth interview. Analysis of data using qualitative analysis.

Abstract

The democratic system is inseparable from the existence of the elite.Elite has an important role in democracy as a group that can affect people in politics. Dominated by economic elites have occurred in election of the Kepala Desa Simare in Toba Samosir regency in 2010. This study found there arethree interesting phenomenonrelating to the economic elite. First, there are resources in the form of wealth for political power; Second, the economic elite were able to control the villagers Simare; Third, the economic elites dominate Simare village government structure.Elite has initiated expansion Simare village is economic elite. They have a wealth of economically. With a wealth of resources possessed by the economic elites make it easier to gain political power in the sense of forming a government village.The study used the approach to political ideology. This study method is descriptive. Collecting data with depth interview. Analysis of data using qualitative analysis. Keywords: Domination, economic elite, village government.

Abstract

Gerakan Pembangunan Swadaya Rakyat (People Governmental Development Movement) started since the Bupati Instruction in Serdang Bedagai regency. The directive Instruction Number 4 (2005) about the Gerakan Pembangunan Swadaya Rakyat (Peoples Movement of Governmental Development) (Gerbang Swara).With the instruction is expected there are synergies and targeted development in accordance with spatial planning based on community needs, and also increase community participation in development. Community engagement is central to expedite the development process. Without this, the development activities would not run properly. This study explains the low level of community participation in development. This study found there arefour causes of low participation. First, economic background. Second, the lack of property ownership society submission to the government. Third, the less the public response to the program Gerbang Swara; Fourth, lack of socialization.The study used the approach to political development. This study method is descriptive. Abstract

The government Pakpak Bharat (2010-2015) has been running for four years. There are many programs and strategies that create better development conditions.This study describes the political development in the Pakpak bharat Regency. The focus is to discuss the orientation or development policy objectives in the government Pakpak Bharat 2010-2015. This study found there are five things that the main orientation of development in Pakpak Barat regency, namely in the areas of infrastructure, education; health; the field of economy; and the bureaucracy.Improving human resources is one focus of the governments work, namely by increasing the development budget of education, as well as other programs that improve the level of education.In the health sector, there is an increase in hospital facilities, community health centers, health care centers maid, Posyandu and polindes.The study used the approach to political development. This study method is descriptive. Collecting data with depth interview. Analysis of data using qualitative analysis. Keywords: Political development, public policy, public mobility.

Abstract

This study is about the perception of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) and Muhammadiyah on womens participation. Muhammadiyah and Nahdlatul Ulama (NU)is the largest Islamic organization in Indonesia. Persyarikatan Muhammadiyah and Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) has been known since bebarapa twenty years ago.Muhammadiyah was established on 18 November 1912.Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) was established in Surabaya on January 31, 1926.Pioneers Muhammadiyah is K.H. Ahmad Dahlan and the founding pioneers Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) is KH. Hasyim Ashari. According to the scholars Nahdlatul Ulama role of women in politics is necessary to follow the current political participation. It would be better if Muslim women participated for the revival of Islam. According to the scholars Muhammadiyah women and men have a gender equality. Women needed to contribute ideas on political issues. The study used the approach to political ideology. This study method is descriptive. Collecting data with depth interview. Abstract

This research is aims to find out how much the influence of Zakah on Civil Servant Profession and Development conducted by Baitul Mal on Economic Empowerment Society in East Aceh. The research sample is taken from 3 (three) sub-districts, namely Simpang Jernih, Peureulak Barat and Peudawa Sub-districts for 3 (three) months from 7 May to 7 July 2016. The research design used is quantitative research design using linear regression analysis multiple and supported by model test and statistical test using the help of program Eviews 8 and SPSS 16.0. The results showed that the zakah received and variable construction can explain mustahik income of about 33.38%, while 66.62% is explained by other factors. Simultaneously variables that receive alms from the treasury construction affects income mustahik using alpha 5%. Zakah received a positive and significant impact on revenue mustahik. Zakah profession salary civil servants in baitul mal East Aceh in accordance with the purpose and objectives of Islamic economics.
