Abstract

The esperiment was conducted to evaluate the effect of dietary addition of feed supplement on ruminal degradation of native grass with nylon bag technique or in sacco technique. The trial was a completely randomized design experiment of a 4 replicates on 2 rumen fistulateed cattles. Native grass was added with 4 kind of seed supplements as a growth promoting feed supplement (GPFS) with different feeds composition, they were consist of iso Nitrogenous and iso Carboneous. GPFS A consist of soybean meal and ketepeng leaf, GPFS B consist of soybean meal and lemuru fish oil, GPFS C consist of Leucaena leaf and ketepeng leaf and GPFS D consist of Leucaena leaf and lemuru fish oil. Four ration were incubated in the rumen for 0, 2, 4, 8, 12, 24, 32, 48, and 72 hours. Both dry matter (DM) and organic matter (OM) disappearance of native grass were not significantly affected by different feed supplement. Also, DM, OM, and crude fiber (CF) during 72 hours incubation were not affected by addition of feed supplements. Four kind of feed supplements had the similar potential to improve the ruminal environment and ruminal degradation

Abstract

Composite fluor was made from combination of tapiocca and glucomannan-carrageenan in four different composition. The composite fluor for wheat in producing wet noodle. Amylose content of tapiocca provide strong structure of wet noodle, while combination of carrageenan-glucomannan objected to substitute gluten function in building elastic bonding needed in the wet noodle. Increasing of the composite fluor level increased raaw fiber content of wet noodle. Based on sensory analysis, substitution of wheat by the composite fluor decreased intensity of brightness, hardness, unique taste and aroma of wet noodle, but in the other side, retained its elasticity at two level of substitution (18% tapiocca mixed with 2% carrageenan-glucomannan and 19% tapiocca mixed 1% carrageenan-glucomannan).

Abstract

The aim of the research was to study the effect of kind of mulches, farmyard manure dosages (FYM), and their interaction on available potassium and yield of soybean on Vertisol. The experiment was conducted at green house on July to December 2002. Soil analysis was done at Soil Science Laboratory, Agriculture Faculty, Sebelas Maret University, Surakarta. It was arranged in Completely Randomized Design (CDR) with two factor and each treatment combination replicated three times. The first factor was kinds of mulch i.e. without mulch, rice straw at 5 ton/ha, and rice hull at 5 ton/ha. The second one was farmyard manure (FYM) dosage, i.e. 0,6 and 12 ton FYM/ha. Data analyzed for F Test and DMRT at 5% significancy and Stepwise Regresion to predict the optimum of soybean yield. The result showed that both kind of mulch and FYM influence available potassium at maximum vegetative phase of soybean, while their interaction significant on available K at harvested  time, seed weight/plant and weight of 100 seeds. Available K increase coinside with FYM dosage. Stepwise Regression Analysis showed that treatment combination for the optimum of available-K at maximum vegetative phase, available-K at harvest time, seed weight/plant, and weight of 100 seeds were rice straw mulch and 2,76 ton FYM/ha, rice straw mulch and 0,035 ton FYM/ha, rice full mulch and 2,57 ton FYM/ha, and rice straw mulch and 1,1017 ton FYM/ha respectively

Abstract

Irrigation water contributes several kind of nutrients to lowland rice and sometimes creates some problems. Research on irrigation water connected with fertilizers requirement and its effect on plant growth and crop yield was still limited. Water samples from Sidorejo irrigation in Central Java, at dry season in 2001, analyzed in laboratory its anion, cation, and water quality. The result showed that water quality from Sidorejo irrigation is suitable and did not give any unfavorable effect on the growth and yield of rice plant; which the values of SAR is very good, DHL and TDS were good-very good, Cl- is very good, percentage Na+ is moderate-good, SO4- is very good, and pH is normal. Irrigation water from Sidorejo irrigation were could supply 4,62 kg N/ha/season, 0,02 kg P/ha/season, 8,45 kg K/ha/season, 48,36 kg S/ha/season, 128,26 kg Ca/ha/season, and 34,89 kg Mg/ha/season respectively. The amount of nutrients supply have to be considered in the decision of fertilizer need

Abstract

The research was conducted to study binucleate Rhizoctonia as biocontrol agents again Sclerotium rolfsii Sacc. On soybean seedlings in Laboratory and greenhouse. Nine of 57 isolates were identified as binucleate Rhizoctonia. Eight of the nine isolates were non pathogenic and three of them were used in the research as biocontrol agents. The three isolate decreased the disease intensity caused by S. Rolfsii in the greenhouse by 29,17; 14,58 and 41,67%.
