Abstract

The basic principle in the learning activities is student-centered learning. This requires a learning model that empowers students to be more actively involved in the learning process at school one cooperative learning model Two Stay Two Stray (TSTS). This study aims to determine the effect of cooperative learning model TSTS to see a difference in student learning outcomes between cooperative learning model TSTS and conventional learning on the subject of molecular geometry. The study population was all students class XI Science SMAN 2 Pasangkayu Academic Year 2013/2014. The study sample consisted of two class, namely class XI Science 2 as many as 25 people as the experimental class and class XI Science 1 by 27 people as the control classes determined by purposive sampling. Data collection was conducted using test instruments which consist of 20 items. Testing research data used t-test statistical analysis of the two parties with the prerequisite test that tests for normality and homogeneity tests. Average score of student learning outcomes using cooperative learning model TSTS is 74.06 while the average score of student learning outcomes that follow conventional learning is 66.5. Based on statistical analysis by t-test hypotheses two parties obtained tcount = 2.83 and this is in the region of rejection of Ho, namely -2.00 and 2.00. These results indicate that there are differences in student learning outcomes given cooperative learning model TSTS with conventional.

Abstract

Reaserch was conducted on the atomic structure subject and the periodic table with implementing cooperative learning model type of coopeative, integrated reading and composition (CIRC) in SMAN 1 Pasangkayu is applied to the learning model with the conventional lecture method. This study aims to implement cooperative learning model of CIRC towards the chemical learning outcomes. The population in this study is a class X student of SMAN 1 Pasangkayu academic year 2013/2014 the number of students 300 people, and the study sample X.4 class as experiment class with (n = 30) applying cooperative learning model CIRC and class X.3 as class control the number of students (n = 32) whithout using cooperative learning model CIRC. Testing the hypothesis t-test of the right-hand side. The results of the analysis of data obtained average scores on the experimental class = 76.90 and 60.81 for the control class normaly distibuted both classes and has variance (F test) are homogeneous. Tesing hypothesis obtained tcount t-test = 4.73 > ttabel = 1.67 with a significance level (α) = 0.05. The results showed that the application of cooperative learning model CIRC gives the positive effect on student learning outcomes in the atomic structure subject and the periodic table of elements (H0 rejected H1 is accepted).

Abstract

The seed of moringa (Moringa oleifera) is used as natural water purification materials and are coagulant. Biocoagulant materials combined in this study were egg shells. Egg shell is known to contain high calcium. This study aims to determine the character of polyblends in physical – chemical test, the degree of swelling an polyblends functional groups, and to determine the optimum ability of the polyblends power absorption. The research method used was sampel preparation, polyblends characterization, swelling degree and to analyze FTIR functional group and water quality test with parameters. The research results showed that the physical character polyblends lasting effectiveness was polyblends SBK : SCT with a ratio of 5:5, while the chemistry test of polyblends character with FTIR analysis showed the functional groups OH, C=C, CH, CH2, CO which each have their own unique characteristics. The water quality with parameters of turbidity, good polyblends adsorption was polyblends SBK:SCT with ratio of 7.5:2.5 with a decreased of 91.43%, ferrous metal content, polyblends SBK:SCT with a ratio of 7.5:2.5 declined 90.90%. The value test of BOD and COD, the best polyblend adsorption was polyblends 5:5 with 93.26% dcreased. Polyblends that produced the best pH of water quality was polyblend with a ratio of 7.5:2.5 with the pH value of 4.68 turned to 7.82.

Abstract

Generally in the learning process students tend to be passive in finding out the concept. Students just rewrite the existing conceptss, so that their learning outcomes are less. To obtainthe improvement of students’ learning outcome it required a learning model, one of them is cooperative learning model TSTS. This study aims to apply student-centered in the learning process of SMA Negeri 1 Sausu, and to investigate the students’ learning outcomes with the application of the learning model TSTS type and the conventional on chemistry subject at the tenth grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Sausu. This research is experimental research with quasi experiment design. The population is the whole tenth grade students numbered 124 studends with the sample taken purposively where class B as for the control class numbered 31 students and class D as for the experimental class numbered 31 students. The results of the data analysis obtained the average score of the experimental class is 7.04 with deviation standard is 2.85 and control class is 5.43 with deviation standard is 3.11. from the results of testing hypothesis obtained tcounted = 2.26 and ttable = 2.00 at α = 0.05, so that H1 is accepted and H0 is rejected. These data showed that students’ learning outcomes with the implementation of cooperative learning model TSTS were higher than conventional learning model on the subject of chemistry at the tenth grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Sausu.

Abstract

The study of effect of cooperative learning model of snowball throwing type in the molecule shape had been conducted. This study aims to find out the effect of cooperative learning model of snowball throwing on the student’s study outcome in molecule shape material science of SMA Negeri 1 Pasangkayu for 2013 neadenic year. The samples of study are grade XI Science 3 as experimental class (learning by using cooperative learning model of snowball throwing type) with 30 students and grade XI science 1 as a control class (convensional learning) 30 students. Data collection was conducted by using test instrument of study outcome in molecule shape material wich was validated before. The data analysis obtained average score in experimental class = 77.23 and for control class obtained average score 58.7. Based on the hypotesis analysis with t-test of statistic on the party was obtained the value of tcounted= 5.65 and ttable= 1.671 on a = 0.05. H1 was accepted and H0 was rejected, because tcounted was in area of rejection. This shows that the cooperative learning model of snowball throwing type gave positive effect on student study outcome in the molecule shape material in grade XI science of SMA Negeri 1 Pasangkayu.

Abstract

The use of instructional media could help teachers to develop and deepen in teaching and learning process in the classroom. This study aims to determine the effect of using atomic structure card media and periodic systems toward learning outcome of the eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri 6 Palu. The population in this study was all of the eleventh grade students on Science Program of SMA Negeri 6 Palu in the academic year 2013/2014 which consists of 3 classes. The sample in this study was 30 students of Science Program 1 as the experimental class and 32 students of Science Program 2 as the control class. Testing research data used statistical analysis of the t test (right) with the prerequisite test, test for normality, and homogeneity. The data analysis result obtained for the average score in the experiment class X1 = 68.03 with deviation standard = 10.50 and the control class X2 = 54.75 with deviation standard = 9.57. Based on the testing result of hypothesis by statistical t-test values obtained right side of tcounted> ttable is 5.37 > 1.67 with a confidence level of 0.05 and degrees of freedom = 60. From the results of hypothesis testing, then, Ho was rejected so it can be concluded that there is a better influence in using atomic structure card media and periodic system toward learning outcome of the leventh grade students of SMA Negeri 6 Palu.

Abstract

Learning on teacher centered learning chemistry, causing the interest and creativity of the students do not develop. This condition contributes to the low of students learning outcomes. Students learning outcomes will be better is students experience for themselves what really happened. Therefore we need a method of teaching which is one oriented to students. This study uses a model of cooperative learning TSTS which is one method of teaching. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of the application of the cooperative learning model TSTS on the subject of the periodic table of the learning outcomes of students of class X SMA Negeri 1 Dampelas. The study population was all students in the class X SMA Negeri 1 Dampelas academic year 2012/2013 consisting of six classes. The study sample consisted of two classes, namely class XA 32 students as the experimental class and the class XF 32 students as the class control are determined by purposive sampling. Results of analysis of data obtained for the mean score on the experiment class X1 = 76.50 with a standard deviation = 12.18 and the control class X2 = 57.81 with a standard deviation = 16.26. Based on the hypothesis testing results obtained tcounting = 5.21 and ttable = 2.00 at α = 0.05. In this case H1 is accepted and Ho is rejected, because tcounting is in the rejection of Ho. It can be concluded that the application of cooperative learning model TSTS on the subject of periodic system of elements had a positive effect on learning outcomes of students of class X SMA Negeri 1 Dampelas.

Abstract

One of the indicators of the successful is the reachment of the students’ learning outcome on every subject taught belong to chemistry subject. This research conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Palu Marawola with the purpose of determining the difference of students’ learning outcome on chemistry subject which treated with cooperative learning model snowball throwing type with convensional learning on the material of atomic structure of the tenth grade students in SMA Negerei 1 Marawola. The population of the research was the tenth grade students in academic year 2013/2014. The sample was the Class E as the experimental class numbered 25 students and Class D as the control class numbered 25 students. The technique of data collection done through achievement test on chemistry subject particularly on atomic structure validated at first. The result of testing used two tailed t-test statistics analysis with prerequisite that is normality and homogenity tests. The data analysis result obtained the average score on experimental class = 75.04 and for the control class the average score obtained = 68. Based on the hypothesis with two tailed t test statistics it obtained the value of t counted =7.45 and t table = 2.02 at α = 0.05. In this case H1 was accepted and H0 was rejected because t counted was on the area of H0 rejection. It showed that there was a difference of students’ learning outcome through the application of cooperative learning snowball throwing type and convensional of the tenth grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Marawola.
