Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas. Penelitian ini dilakukan dalam dua siklus dengan tujuan meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa dengan menggunakan alat peraga di kelas V SDN 1 Dolong A. Subyek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas V SDN 1 Dolong A yang berjumlah 32 orang terdiri dari 15 orang laki-laki dan 17 orang perempuan. Hasil penelitian  pada siklus I menunjukkan rata-rata hasil observasi aktivitas siswa diperoleh persentase 71,87% dengan kategori baik, persentase aktivitas guru 77% kategori baik, persentase daya serap klasikal 56,63% dan tuntas klasikal sebesar 71,87%. Pada siklus II diperoleh rata-rata persentase aktivitas siswa sebesar 87,5% dengan kategori sangat baik, persentase aktivitas guru 90,38% kategori sangat baik, persentase daya serap klasikal 80% dan persentase tuntas klasikal sebesar 85%. Hal ini telah memenuhi indikator keberhasilan yang telah ditetapkan dengan nilai rata-rata hasil belajar minimal 70 dan ketuntasan klasikal sudah mencapai indikator keberhasilan minimal 80%. Kata Kunci: Hasil Belajar, Alat Peraga.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar IPA pada siswa kelas III SDN Mire melalui penerapan metode demonstrasi. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas. Desain penelitian mengacu pada model Kemmis dan Mc. Target yang terdiri atas 4 komponen, yaitu (1) perencanaan tindakan, (2) pelaksanaan tindakan, (3) observasi, (4) refleksi. Jenis data yang digunakan yaitu data kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Adapun hasil observasi kegiatan guru siklus I presentase aktifitas guru sebesar 72% atau berada dalam kategori baik sedangkan siklus II meningkat menjadi 84% dan pada kategori sangat baik. Aktivitas siswa siklus I persentase rata-rata yang diperoleh mencapai 72,85 % dan pada siklus II meningkat menjadi 91,42 % dan berada pada kategori sangat baik. Hasil analisis tes tindakan siklus I menjelaskan Presentase Daya Serap Klasikal  mencapai 69,46% dengan kriteria penilaian cukup, Persentase ini meningkat pada siklus II menjadi 78,75 % dengan kriteria baik, sedangkan untuk Persentase Ketuntasan Klasikal pada Siklus I mencapai 75 % dengan kriteria baik meningkat pada siklus II menjadi 85,71 % atau dengan kriteria ketuntasan yang sangat baik. Berdasarkan perolehan hasil tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa dengan menggunakan metode demonstrasi dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar IPA dengan materi Energi untuk siswa kelas III SDN Mire. Abstract

The research about the effect of storage time of tumeric (curcuma domestica vahl) for inhibition of antioxidant has been conducted. The study aims to determine the effect of storage time of tumeric (curcuma domestica vahl) for inhibition of antioxidants as well as to determine how much inhibition of antioxidant found in tumeric. This study used a variation of storage time namely 8, 13 and 18 days. The extract of tumeric was obtained by maceration method using ethanol. The antioxidant activity of turmeric was measured by UV Vis spectrophotometry in which DPPH (1,1-difenil-2-pikrilhidrazil) as a reagent. The absorbance measurements was carried out at a wavelength of 517 nm to determine the percentage of inhibition of antioxidant in turmeric and vitamin C (as a positive control). The results revealed that percentage of inhibition of vitamin C is 56.68%, while the percentage of inhibition of turmeric decrease during storage. Based on the data obtained, turmeric with storage time of 8 days is 43.96%, turmeric with storage time of 13 days is 23.27%, and turmeric with storage time of 18 days is 11.92%. This study showed that the effect of storage time on the inhibition of antioxidant turmeric are characterized by a decrease of percentage inhibition of antioxidants in turmeric during the storage period.

Abstract

The basic principle in the learning activities is student-centered learning. This requires a learning model that empowers students to be more actively involved in the learning process at school one cooperative learning model Two Stay Two Stray (TSTS). This study aims to determine the effect of cooperative learning model TSTS to see a difference in student learning outcomes between cooperative learning model TSTS and conventional learning on the subject of molecular geometry. The study population was all students class XI Science SMAN 2 Pasangkayu Academic Year 2013/2014. The study sample consisted of two class, namely class XI Science 2 as many as 25 people as the experimental class and class XI Science 1 by 27 people as the control classes determined by purposive sampling. Data collection was conducted using test instruments which consist of 20 items. Testing research data used t-test statistical analysis of the two parties with the prerequisite test that tests for normality and homogeneity tests. Average score of student learning outcomes using cooperative learning model TSTS is 74.06 while the average score of student learning outcomes that follow conventional learning is 66.5. Based on statistical analysis by t-test hypotheses two parties obtained tcount = 2.83 and this is in the region of rejection of Ho, namely -2.00 and 2.00. These results indicate that there are differences in student learning outcomes given cooperative learning model TSTS with conventional.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine differences the learning outcomes of students in class using the cooperative learning model type make a match with class using conventional in the chemical bonding material in class X SMA Negeri 3 Palu. Type of research was a quasi-experimental design with non randomized pretest-posttest control group design. This research was carried out in two class of class X MIA 6 as an experimental group (n = 32) and class X MIA 7 as a control group (n = 30). Testing of learning outcomes of students data used t-test statistical analysis of the two parties with the prerequisite test: test for normality and homogeneity of a written test given after learning (posttest). The results of the data analysis, the average values obtained of class experiment (X1) was 69.00 with a standard deviation 10.66 and control class (X2) was 64.73 with a standard deviation was 11.38. Results of hypothesis testing, obtained that tcalct = 2.14 and ttable = 2.00 with a= 0.05 and degrees of freedom of 60. Results of the calculation the express that H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted. Based on the results obtained, it can be concluded that there were differences between the learning outcomes of students in chemistry class that using cooperative learning model type make a match, with the class using conventional on chemical bonding material in class X SMA Negeri 3 Palu.

Abstract

The aim of the study is to determine dissolving power and the solubility of calcium on kidney stone by the extracts of basil (Ocimum sanctum L.) and determined the effect of basil leaves extracts concentration (%)on the solubility of kidney stones calcium. The method used the extraction infuse way. Variation of concentration extracts were 5%, 10%, 15%, 20% and 25%. The solubility of calcium in basil leaves extracts was determined by SpectroDirect. The results showed that concentration of 5% dissolved by 15.38% of calcium; concentration of 10% dissolved by 21.05%; concentration of 15% dissolved by 26.92%; concentration of 20% dissolved by 35.71%, and concentration of 25% dissolved by 42.10%calcium. It can be concluded that the extracts of basil leaves dissolved kidney stones calcium. The solubility tests showed that the higher the concentration of the basil leaves extracts than the greater the solubility.

Abstract

The study’s aim is to utilize waste oil palm empty bunches into organic fertilizer and analyze the levels of nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P). The methods used may include sampling and laboratory analysis. To determine the levels of nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P) on the organic fertilizer from TKKS waste, spectrodirect was used. Based on analysis, it was obtained that level of nitrogen (N) is 2.033% and phosphorus (P) was 0.107%, while the amount of moisture content was 47.53% and ash content was 36,66%. Based on the SNI about compost quality from organic waste, the results of this study indicate that waste TKKS can be used as raw material for organic fertilizer.

Abstract

This study was conducted to determine differences of the student’s learning outcomes that was applied by collaborative learning model with technique think aloud pair problem solving (TAPPS) and was applied by lecture method in the hydrocarbon material against the student’s learning outcomes in class X SMAN 6 Palu. The collaborative learning model was think aloud pair problem solving technique on the hydrocarbon material class X SMAN 6 Palu. The type of research was a quasi-experimental with research design pretest posttest control group design. Population in this research was whole students in class X SMAN 6 Palu, academic year 2015-2016 consisting of six classes totaling 115. The sampling technique used was a purposive sampling. The samples in this research was an experiment class with 17 students and a control class with 8 students. Data analysis techniques used was non-parametric and statistical method of Mann-Whitney U-test. Research result showed the output Rank for mean score of the experiment class was bigger than the control class 22.41 ˃ 13.83. The output statistics test, Sig. 2-tailed (0.13) 0.05 ˂ and Ucalculation (78) ˂ Utable (93). From the findings of hypothesis testing, H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted then it can be concluded that there were significant differences learning outcomes in the student’s with the collaborative learning model technique think aloud pair problem solving (TAPPS) with the lecture method on the hydrocarbon material against the learning outcome of students in class X SMAN 6 Palu.

Abstract

This study aims to determine concentration of zinc (Zn) and lead (Pb) metals on the sea water in coastal areas Mamboro District of North Palu. The method used was a spectrophotometry using atomic absorption spectrophotometer (AAS). Seawater samples were taken from three different points, is A (5 meter), B (10 meter), and C (15 meter) within ± 5 m from the coastline, and sampling started from the edge of the harbor of cooking oil companies. Results of the analysis of zinc contents from the three points are 0.155 mg/L at point A, 0.126 mg/L at point B, and 0.109 mg/L at point C, respectively. Moreover, the lead contents are 0.35 mg/L at point A, 0.391 mg/L at point B, and 0.433 mg/L at point C , respectively. Concentration of zinc metal on the sea water in Mamboro coastal marine ranged from 0.109 mg/L – 0.155 mg/L, which is higher than the threshold value zinc metal, 0.01 mg/L, where concentration of lead metal on the sea water in Mamboro coastal marine ranged from 0.35 mg/L – 0.433 mg/L, which is higher than the threshold value of lead metal, 0.025 mg/L.

Abstract

Research has been conducted to determine the level of vitamin C by a visible spectrophotometer, and a metal content of potassium (K) from pumkin sample (Cucurbita Moschata) by Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS). Measuring the levels of vitamin C in the sample performed at a wavelength (λ) = 510 nm and measuring the levels of potassium in the sample performed at a wavelength (λ) = 766,5 nm. The results obtained by the levels of vitamin C is sample A (pumpkin from Jono oge village) obtained at 6 mg/L, sample B (pumpkin from Sidera village) obtained at 4,5 mg/L, and sample C (pumpkin from Toro village) obtained at 0,97 mg/L. While the metal content of potassium is sample A (pumpkin from Jono oge village) obtained at 23,22 mg/L, sample B (pumpkin from Sidera village) obtained at 22,22 mg/L, and sample C (pumpkin from Toro village) obtained at 20,22 mg/L. These data indicate that the levels of vitamin C and potassium sample A higher than sample B and C.
