Abstract

Remaja perlu membentuk self-concept yang positif dalam proses pencarian jati dirinya. Berbagai variabel psikologi turut membentuk self-concept remaja termasuk self-esteem. Akan tetapi, self-esteem hanya membuat diri para remaja diliputi kebutuhan untuk selalu berusaha berada di atas orang lain atau melebihi standart sosial yang ada. Variabel ini akan memaksa para remaja mempertahankan tingkat self-esteem yang tinggi atau setidaknya di atas rata-rata dari penilaian lingkungan. Self-compassion hadir sebagai variabel yang lebih positif dalam usaha membentuk self-concept remaja. Self-compassion tidak meniadakan evaluasi remaja dari diri maupun lingkungan. Self-compassion membantu remaja untuk memberikan pemahaman perlu bersikap baik terhadap dirinya sendiri (self-kindness), membentuk pemikiran bahwa situasi yang dialaminya sekarang bisa juga dialami oleh orang lain (common humanity), serta secara kesadaran penuh melakukan suatu tindakan (mindfulness), maka ia mampu membentuk self-concept yang lebih positif. Remaja perlu mengembangkan self-compassion daripada terfokus pada self-esteem dalam usaha membentuk self-concept

Abstract

Abstract. Ethical Decision Making (EDM) is behavior that is based on cognitive morals to choose an ethical decision. Flexible Work Arrangement (FWA) is a work option that allows employees to be flexible in terms of the place of work and its settlement. Job satisfaction is a positive feeling about work. This study will see job satisfaction mediates flexible work arrangement relationships with ethical decision making. This research method is a survey with a cross sectional design. The sample in this study were those who had worked in Indonesia with simple random sampling. The results of the study point out a significant indirect effect of flexible work arrangement on ethical decision making through job satisfaction

Abstract

This study investigates the relationship between school well-being, growth mindset, and grit. The subjects involved in this study are students from grade 12 in high public and private schools in Purbalingga, Central Java (n=418). The research method used is quantitative method with data collection through three questionnaires, i.e., School Well-Being Scale (32 items, α=0.853); Mindset Scale (20 items, α=0.804); and Grit Scale for Children and Adult (12 items, α=0.774). Results indicated a positive affact growth mindset on school well-being, a positive affact growth mindset on grit, and confirmed the mediating role of grit. It was concluded that the effect of growth mindset on school well-being of senior high school students in Purbalingga was mediated by grit. Growth mindset in students predicts higher school well-being through the enhancement of grit. Thus, giving intervention of growth mindset and grit can be carried out by school to improve students’s school well-being.Keywords: grit, growth mindset, high schools, school well-being Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan school well-being, growth mindset, dan kegigihan. Partisipan yang terlibat adalah siswa kelas 12 sekolah menangah atas dari sekolah negeri dan sekolah swasta di daerah Purbalingga, Jawa Tengah (n=418). Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kuantitatif dengan pengumpulan data melalui tiga kuesioner, yaitu skala School Well-Being (32 aitem, α=0.853); skala Mindset (20 aitem, α=0.804); and Grit Scale for Children and Adult (12 aitem, α=0.774). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya pengaruh positif growth mindset terhadap school well-being, pengaruh positif growth mindset terhadap kegigihan, dan kegigihan terkonfirmasi sebagai mediator. Dapat disimpulkan, pengaruh growth mindset terhadap school well-being pada siswa sekolah menengah di Purbalingga dimediasi oleh kegigihan. Growth mindset pada siswa memprediksi school well-being, melalui pengembangan kegigihan. Oleh karena itu, pemberian intervensi dengan menyasar growth mindset dan kegigihan disarankan dapat dilakukan sekolah untuk meningkatkan school well-being siswa.Kata kunci: growth mindset, kegigihan, school well-being, sekolah menengah atas

Abstract

Levels of wellbeing, financial factors, emotional and psychological factors need to be addressed to individuals in the workplace. Individual well-being is met is expected to occur individual satisfaction in the workplace. Individual satisfaction, groups in the workplace have an impact on emotions. This study aims to examine the role of welfare in individual emotions. The method used in this research is observation, interview and secondary data. The sample in this research is cleaning service of Faculty of Psychology Airlangga University Surabaya, random sampling method. The result of this study is that employees have good emotions and well-being when they are at work. The most important factor why they can enjoy the job is the existence of a conducive, comfortable, and familial work environment. In this research, the conducive working environment factor is quite dominant. In addition, the relatively small working pressures and awareness of the difficulty of finding employment are also factors why these employees decide to survive.

Abstract

Personality traits (openness and conscientiousness) were found to play a major role to improve innovative work behavior. However, the relationship between the two variables cannot be fully understood because of the rule of tenure as the moderator. In order to provide greater clarity, researcher wants to examine the effects of openness and conscientiousness on innovative work behavior and how the dynamic of moderating effects of tenure on the associations between traits and innovative work behavior among startup employees. Researcher has conducted a cross-sectional study on 105 startup employees. The results showed that openness and conscientiousness personality traits influenced the innovative work behavior, but there was no moderation effect of tenure to be found. Findings of this research can increase theoretical understanding and also can be used by startup companies in the recruitment and selection process to select employees who have the characteristics of openness and conscientiousness with high potential to innovate.

Abstract

The goal of the research is to know the influence of the father's role and self control against pornographic site access behavior on teenage boys in the city of Makassar. This research using quantitative research methods. The sample is obtained by using purposive sampling technique with the subject as much as 116 people aged 11-13 years. Methods of data analysis used in this study is the analysis of the test of simple linear correlation and multiple regression test. Hypothesis test results I showed the value of the coefficient of = 0.286, hypothesis test results II shows the value of the coefficient of =  0.253, test results and hypothesis III shows the value of the coefficient of = 0.301 value significance p=0.00 (p<0.05). The result of the research data shows that there is the influence of his father and self control against pornographic site access behavior on teenage boys in the city of Makassar.Tujuan dari penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh peran ayah dan self control terhadap perilaku mengakses situs pornografi pada remaja laki-laki di kota Makassar. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kuantitatif. Sampel diperoleh dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling dengan subjek penelitian sebanyak 116 orang yang berusia 11-13 tahun. Metode analisis data yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah uji analisis linear sederhana dan uji regresi korelasi berganda. Hasil uji hipotesis I menunjukkan nilai koefisien = 0,286, hasil uji hipotesis II menunjukkan nilai koefisien = 0,253, dan hasil uji hipotesis III menunjukkan nilai koefisien= 0,301 dengan nilai signifikansi p=0,000 (p<0,05). Hasil dari data penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh ayah dan self control terhadap perilaku mengakses situs pornografi pada remaja laki-laki di kota Makassar.

Abstract

This study aims to find out relationship between dimension big five personality with emotional labor. The research sample was all nurses working at Sari Mutiara Medan General Hospital, which amounted to 115 people, with a total sampling method.The data were collected via emotional labor scale with 48 item and big five personality scale (BFI) with 44 item. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between big five personality with emotional labor. Openness to experience were positively related to emotional labor with correlate coefficient 0.268 and sig. 0.003 (p<0.05), the other dimensions have negative relationships, including extraversion dimensions with correlate coefficient 0.052 and sig. 0.562 (p<0.005), agreeableness with correlate coefficient -0.129 and sig. 0.150 (p<0.05), conscientiousness with correlate coefficient 0.082 and sig. 0.363 (p<0.05) and neuroticism with correlate coefficient -0.104 and sig. 0.245 (p<0.05) were negatively related to emotional labor. The results also showed that the contribution of a given big five personality on emotional labor was 9 percent, while the remaining 91 percent was affected by other factors not examined. From the results, it can be concluded that the hypothesis stating that there is a significance relationship between big five personality and emotional labor.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the relationship of locus of control, self-esteem, pedagogical competence and career readiness to be a teacher on university students. The population of the research is students of IED at Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta. The sample is taken using incidental sampling technique. Data collection was conducted by using career readiness scale, locus of control scale, self-esteem scale, and pedagogical competence scale. The data are analyzed using statistical calculation method by using the multiple regressions technique. The results show that; (1) there is no  significant relationship between locus of control, self-esteem, pedagogical competence and career readiness to be a teacher, (2) there is a relationship between locus of control and career readiness to be a teacher, (3) there is no relationship between self-esteem and career readiness to be a teacher, (4) there is a correlation between pedagogical competence and career readiness to be a teacher. The total effective contribution of locus of control and pedagogical competence are 14.9%. The effective contribution of locus of control variable is 5.4% and pedagogical competence variable is 9.5%.
