Abstract

This research compared the performance of PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) inverter and multilevel inverter in terms of their output voltage and current total harmonic distortion (THD). The inverters were designed to have the output voltage of 220 V at 50 Hz. The input voltage for both inverters are 400 VDC. For PWM inverter, the PWM technique utilized was sinusoidal PWM (SPWM) and for multilevel converter, the number of voltage level is five with diode-clamped topology. The study included circuit implementation, analysis, and THD calculation, all of which were carried out through simulation using PSpice software. In controlling the SPWM inverter output, the adjusted parameters included amplitude modulation ratio, frequency modulation ratio, and filter components’ parameters. On the other hand, the firing angles of the switching components were designated as controlling parameters in multilevel inverter. From the study, it was found that the best THD values of the designed SPWM inverter are 4.2% (voltage) and 1.7% (current), while those of multilevel inverter are 27% and 11%, for voltage and current, respectively. Thus, it can be concluded that SPWM inverter is better than 5-level inverter for the application in solar panel due to its lower THD. In our study, 5-level inverter did not satisfy the THD requirement specified in IEEE 512-1992, i.e. 5%.

Abstract

Piping setup is very important to ensure the safety and eligibility of the piping system before applied in industry. One of the techniques to facilitate perfect piping setup is by employing pipe monitoring robot. Pipe monitoring robot is designed in this research to monitor cracks or any other defects occur inside a pipe. This automatic monitoring is conducted by the application of image processing with canny edge detection. Canny edge detection method detects the edges or lines of any cracks inside the pipe and processes them to create differences in image, therefore only the cracks can be shown and finally, those cracks can be well analyzed. Canny edge detection has 5 processing techniques that are smoothing, finding gradients, non-maximum suppression, double thresholding, and edge tracking by hysteresis. In this research, the experiment was conducted by letting a robot monitoring new pipe and detecting cracks. Two cracks samples were taken and analyzed. The results show that the best value for smoothing is 10 and 5 for thresholding in getting not too blurred or to sharp result.

Abstract

Kesuksesan sebuah perguruan tinggi dalam menciptakan lulusan yang berkualitas ditentukan oleh sumber daya yang masuk ke perguruan tinggi tersebut. Masing masing perguruan tinggi mempunyai sistem tersendiri dalam proses seleksi tersebut. Namun, dalam proses seleksi yang dilakukan banyak mahasiswa yang nilai kelulusannya tidak sesuai yang diharapkan. Oleh karena itu perlu adanya suatu sistem yang dapat mendukung keputusan dalam seleksi calon mahasiswa baru guna mendapatkan input calon mahasiswa yang baik. Penelitian ini membangun sistem Pendukung Keputusan menggunakan metode nave bayes classifier dimana nilai tes kompetensi dasar mahasiswa yang telah diterima akan dijadikan data latih kemudian diklasifikasikan berdasarkan nilai ipk yang telah diperolehnya. Nilai ipk tersebut akan menjadi patokan pembentukan kelas yang merupakan rekomendasi kepada tim penyeleksi. Kemudian diberikan sebuah data calon mahasiswa beserta nilai kompentensi dasar, jika calon mahasiswa tersebut memasuki kelas aman maka akan direkomendasikan untuk memasuki Perguruan Tinggi yang dimaksud.

Abstract

Solar energy is energy which can be harnessed conveniently and free. However, its conversion result may not be easily obtained. Based on the previous research, solar power plant is a source of renewable energy, utilizing solar energy. Solar power plant converts solar energy into electricity using Photovoltaic (PV) or solar cells. Even though solar power plant is considered as better energy alternative, it presents problems and weaknesses. In this case, the problems are related to insufficient power generation with low power efficiency, high oscillation and very slow power tracking. Hence, in order to solve these problems, Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) has been utilized. Combination method of P&O-fuzzy and IC-fuzzy is employed to its design. Moreover, combined algorithm may result better power from conventional algorithm due to appropriate performance of duty cycle according to system design, with efficiency result of 79%-85.6%, tracking in searching output power of 0,0055s - 0,008s, low oscillation and maximum power generated by combined algorithm of 1028 watt.

Abstract

Untuk menyusun perencanaan pengembangan objek daya tarik wisata di pulau Ambon khususnya penentuan pola perjalanan wisatawan diperlukan data dan Metode yang relevan, salah satu metode penentuan pola kunjungan wisata adalah Metode Frequent Pattern Growth yang terbukti dapat digunakan untuk melihat pola kecenderungan. Dari 505 sampel data wisatawan Gabungan yang terdiri dari 331 wisatawan Domestik dan 174 wisatawan mancanegara yang berkunjung ke 18 objek daya tarik wisata di pulau Ambon dengan minimum support 10 % dan minimum confidence 70 % didapatkan 12 pencarian pola kunjungan wisatawan yakni pola kunjungan wisatawan domestik, Mancanegara dan Gabungan  ke seluruh ODTW, ODTW Pantai, ODTW Sejarah dan ODTW Alam. Dari masing–masing item, diambil 10 pola berdasarkan tingkat confidence tertinggi untuk dijadikan bahan rekomendasi bagi dinas terkait menyangkut penentuan pola kunjungan wisatawan di pulau Ambon.

Abstract

AbstractVANET has characteristics of high mobility vehicles and fast changes of the topology, it causes process data communication interrupted frequently. It can be minimized by Vehicular Technology Delay Tolerant Networking (VDTN). The Epidemic protocol is one of which was used to the distribution of message on VANET, the mecanism of Epidemic protocol caused amount of message, thus impacting in distribution unefficient message and the performance can be lower.The porposed of this research are to solve the problem of Epidemic protocol, namely e-Epidemic protocol. This proposed protocol are the development of Epidemic protocol that give more attention on the vehicles direction and farest vehicle.The results based on the number of messages distribution showed the number of messages average which owned e-Epidemic protocol is 8% whereas epidemic protocol is 92%. And based on the delay value, e-Epidemic protocol only has delay as much as 17%, meanwhile epidemic protocol has delay 83%.

Abstract

Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) merupakan satu teknologi telekomunikasi yang mampu melewatkan layanan komunikasi dalam jaringan Internet Protocol sehingga memungkinkan antar pengguna berkomunikasi suara dalam jaringan IP. Kelebihan dari VoIP ini mampu melakukan efisiensi bandwith dan biaya pengelolaan dengan memanfaatkan Raspberry Pi sebagai server VoIP. Dalam penelitian ini, VoIP dibangun pada Sistem Operasi Linux dengan aplikasi Asterisk dan RasPBX yang diintegrasikan pada Raspberry Pi dengan menggunakan jaringan nirkabel lokal sebagai media transmisi. Sistem ini diujikan dengan menggunakan dua tipe client, yaitu PC dan smartphone dengan mengukur QoS dengan rata-rata delay 0.4463ms, rata-rata throughput 16.36KBps, rata-rata packet loss 0.889% dan jitter 1.102ms.

Abstract

Waktu servis dapat diketahui melalui mengkonversi putaran roda kendaraan menjadi jarak tempuh. Penggunaan sensor magnet Reed Switch untuk menghitung putaran roda sepeda motor, kemudian Mikrokontroller digunakan sebagai pengolah data putaran roda menjadi jarak tempuh. Apabila perhitungan jarak tempuh telah mencapai batas untuk servis oli, maka akan diberikan suatu peringatan berupa suara menggunakan buzzer. Sistem ini juga dilengkapi dengan button reset untuk me-reset perhitungan jarak tempuh dan sd card yang digunakan untuk menyimpan data jarak tempuh. Aplikasi LBS dapat menentukan posisi pengguna maupun bengkel-bengkel resmi Honda yang telah terintegrasi. Dengan kombinasi ini, aplikasi LBS Bengkel akan mencari rute untuk menghubungkan posisi pengguna dengan bengkel motor serta memanfaatkan servis di google yang sudah disertakan layer traffic sehingga pengguna dapat memilih bengkel yang sesuai dengan keinginannya. Dari hasil aplikasi LBS bengkel yang telah dibuat, aplikasi dapat mendaftarkan servis sepeda motor ke bengkel-bengkel yang terintegrasi. Aplikasi tersebut memapu melakukan proses pencarian lokasi bengkel terdekat di sekitar pengguna dan menunjukkan rute dari lokasi pengguna ke bengkel tujuan menggunakan API google map.Kata kunci: Location Based Service (LBS), Mikrokontroler, Bengkel, Reed Switch, Buzzer

Abstract

Selecting study program is important things that must decide for high school student in Indonesia. However, students often have difficulties to explore the field of study which match with him. Technology can be used as a tool for making a decision, for example by using android application. Android platform has advantages because it is easy to accessible and familiar in teenagers in Indonesia. In this research, an application was developed by Rational Unified Process methodology. The selection of study program is done with knowing personality type. There are 6 criteria in defining personality type with RIASEC method: Realistic, Investigative, Artistic, Social, Enterprising, Conventional. Personality type can be known after user filled the questionnaire in an application. Next, an application can display study program that matches the type of user personality. From evaluation and analysis, the result showed that application is easy to use. It is expected that this application can be a simulated application which provides information and solutions in advance to selecting study program in universities.

Abstract

Pitch is a movement of an aircraft achieved by tilting the elevator control which makes the nose of aircraft ascend or descend. This research will design a control system that controls the slope of the x-axis or pitch with the observer-state feedback to keep the aircraft always in the position setpoint, the stabilization of the pitch angle at the value of 0 radians. The applied controller is tested under three different conditions based on the variation of the gain value of Q and R that will affect the observed gain matrix (L gain) and the matrix state-feedback gain (K gain). The variation with the gain value of Q = 10 and R = 0.1 is the best result of the three kinds of testing performed with the fastest stabilization processing time, that is 7 seconds, to reach a steady state condition and the minimum pitch angle deviation value is 0.08 radians. The use of the observer has a significant influence on the pitch angle deviation of the aircraft. When using the observer, the pitch angle deviation value is 0.08 radians, and 0.2 radians without the observer. The larger result of pitch deviation angle will affect the stability of the aircrafts motion and cause the slope of the movement on the x-axis become greater so that the aircraft is prone to fall.
