Abstract

The character education refers to the efforst to bring up the children to be mature with good ethics and morales. In Hindu, the education is setting the foundation, orientation, and perspectives that could be used mentally and spiritually for the character building. The mental toughness is related to the intelectuality as well as the personality that could avoid negativity and keep on progressing and understanding the tests of life. Spirituality is related to the belief in God, developing the devotion to Him, and taking any works as a service to Him. With these all Hindus may always do good deeds and compete through ages.

Abstract

God is very difficult to understand with eyes. In order to know God, His nature, and His personification, use of various symbols can be helpful, which suggests the unification of two elements, namely the physical and spiritual ones. Acintya is the symbol or manifestation of God 's Omnipotence. It is the “unimaginable” that turns to be the “imaginable" through potraits, reliefs, or statues. All of these symbols are manifestation of the Acintya that takes the form of the dance of Shiva Nataraja, as the depiction of the Omnipotence of God, to bring in the actual symbol of the "Unthinkable " that have a meaning that people are in a situation where emotions religinya very close with God.

Abstract

This article describes the role of Vāda-Vidyā for students at universities to improve the quality of education, which is still considered to be very low in Indonesia. Vāda-Vidyā is the science of discussion contained in the Nyaya Sutra for the sake of seeking the right knowledge. Vāda-Vidyā displays various theories that metaphysical-ontologically provide an overview of the sixteen categories (padartha), namely the things that must be mastered in order to achieve liberation through a true knowledge. Efforts to reach the right knowledge in epistemic described through four pramana, namely pratyaksha, anumana, upamana and sabdha. From the fourth pramana, pratyaksha is the most important, where three others depend. With a qualitative descriptive method, this article attempts to enter all the problems faced by Indonesian students by Kemendikbud through analysis of epistemology of Vāda-Vidyā. In principle, if Vāda-Vidyā can be correctly understood and actualized into learning activities, the quality of education in Indonesia will be improved.
