Abstract

Six Sigma has been known to be a breakthrough business strategy to achieve customer satisfaction through defect reduction and cost optimization. A flawless product or service would, however, be of little value if it does not sell. Thus, it is of considerable importance to begin with the customer. Quality Function Deployment (QFD), as a customer-driven tool in Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) toolset, can be regarded as one of the most powerful tools to serve this purpose. The success of QFD use relies heavily on the accuracy of the primary input, that is, the Voice of the Customer (VOC). To better identify and obtain more accurate VOC, the use of Kano Model in QFD has been incorporated in the literature. Unfortunately, the dynamics of Kano Model, such as the fact that what now delights the customer will become an expected need in the future is often oversimplified and has not been adequately addressed. The aim of this paper is to shed some light to Kano Model dynamics modeling by providing a quantitative technique which is based on compositional data analysis. It is expected that a timely update of customer needs data may serve as a useful indicator to monitor the progress of how well a company satisfies its customer over time, and at the same time provide a ground for formulating the next strategies as to enable the company to respond differently and continuously over time of its operations. To give some practical insights, an illustrative example is provided.

Abstract

Persaingan global mendorong Indonesia untuk memajukan ekonominya. Salah satu cara untuk menjawab tantangan  globalisasi ini adalah dengan menerapkan manufaktur berkelanjutan. Manufaktur berkelanjutan berawal dari manufaktur ramping, produksi bersih dan Life Cyle Assessment dengan memperhatikan keselamatan karyawan, konsumen dan masyarakat. Terdapat berbagai hambatan dalam implementasi manufaktur berkelanjutan. Indikator keberlanjutan suatu organisasi juga beragam, yang berdasar pada tiga aspek, yaitu ekonomi, sosial dan lingkungan. Pada makalah ini akan dibahas bagaimana isu manufaktur berkelanjutan akan dilihat dari ketiga perspektif, yaitu sisi industri, pemerintah dan akademia, khususnya di Indonesia.

Abstract

Shewhart's dan S(or R) control charts have been used very widely in industries . For several decades, many researchers have endeavoured to develop new algorithms to raise the detecting effectiveness of the control charts. While these methods do increase detecting effectiveness, they usually increase the type I error at the same time. This error give the warning that process is unstable. In this article, we design a single control chart to subtitute -S control chart that have the same sensitivity but doesn't increase error type I. We analyze those factors and their influence to a single and -S control chart. The ARL1 value in -S control chart i s compared with a single control chart . The result shows that a single control chart effective enough. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Sampai saat ini Peta Kendali dan S (atau R) merupakan peta kendali yang umum dipakai di kalangan industri. Pada beberapa dekade, sejumlah penelitian dilakukan untuk menemukan algoritma yang dapat meningkatkan kepekaan peta kendali dalam pendeteksian. Pada saat kepekaan peta kendali tersebut meningkat maka bersamaan dengan itu kesalahan dalam pendeteksian juga meningkat. Di dalam artikel ini penulis mencoba membangun sebuah peta kendali tunggal yang dapat menggantikan peta kendali -S yang memiliki kepekaan sama tetapi tidak meningkatkan kesalahan jenis I. Untuk itu dilakukan simulasi yang menganalisa faktor-faktor tersebut dan pengaruhnya terhadap peta kendali -S dan tunggal. Nilai ARL1 peta kendali -S dibandingkan dengan nilai ARL1 peta kendali tunggal. Hasil simulasi menunujukkan bahwa peta kendali tunggal cukup efektif. Kata kunci : ARL0, ARL1, a1

Abstract

Knowledge is currently viewed as an important strategic resource in companies in order to gain competitive advantage. However, the success in generating competitive advantage will depend on the company’s ability to acquire and assimilate knowledge (potential absorptive capacity) and to transform and exploit knowledge (realized absorptive capacity). This research proposed three hypotheses by processing the sampled data of 114 companies of information and communication technology industry in Indonesia. Based on the results, this study finds that knowledge sharing capability significantly influences potential absorptive capacity and the company’s ability to acquire and assimilate knowledge has a positive influence towards the company’s ability to transform and to exploit knowledge. The relationship between potential absorptive capacity and realized absorptive capacity is moderated by formal mechanism. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia: Pengetahuan saat ini dipandang sebagai sumber daya strategis yang penting bagi perusahaan untuk dapat memiliki keunggulan bersaing. Kesuksesan perusahaan menghasilkan keunggulan bersaing tergantung pada kemampuan perusahaan mengakuisisi dan mengasimilasi pengetahuan (potential absorptive capacity) dan mentransformasi dan mengeksploitasi pengetahuan (realized absorptive capacity). Penelitian ini mengajukan tiga hipotesis dengan mengolah data sampel dari 114 perusahaan pada industri teknologi informasi dan komunikasi di Indonesia. Hasil penelitian menemukan bahwa knowledge sharing capability berpengaruh signifikan terhadap potential absorptive capacity, kemampuan perusahaan mengakuisisi dan mengasimilasi berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kemampuan mentransformasi dan mengeksplotasi pengetahuan. Hubungan antara potential absorptive capacity dan realized absorptive capacity dimoderasi oleh mekanisme formal. Kata kunci: knowledge sharing capability, potential absorptive capacity, realized absorptive capacity, mekanisme formal, industri teknologi informasi dan komunikasi.

Abstract

In this article is developed a data envelopment analysis (DEA) model to solve a budget allocation problem to the decision-making units (DMU's) in an organisation. The allocation is depend on multi-input/output. To develop the model is used some of numerical examples. The results of calculation by DEA model are an optimum budget allocation in lower and upper bound and a fix value between them Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Dalam artikel ini dikembangkan sebuah model data envelopment analysis (DEA) untuk memecahkan masalah pengalokasian anggaran ke masing-masing unit pengambil keputusan (UPK) dalam sebuah organisasi, yang mempertimbangkan multi-input/output. Dalam mengembangkan model, dilakukan dengan beberapa contoh numeris. Hasil perhitungan dengan model DEA ini, didapatkan alokasi anggaran optimal yang berupa batas bawah dan atas serta nilai alokasi diantara kedua nilai tersebut. Kata kunci : data envelopment analysis, efisiensi, alokasi anggaran.

Abstract

This research discusses jobs scheduling model on flowshop-4-stage for fabrication and assembly processes. Each job consists of a unique component and a common component. Both the unique and common components are processed on the first three machines and assembled on the fourth machine. The unique components are processed individually, while common components are processed in batches for which respective constant setups are needed. The criteria used for the models are to minimize maximum lateness and number of tardy jobs. The development is executed to accommodate the possibility of tardy jobs. A proposed algorithm is initiated with jobs scheduling using the earliest due date (EDD) rule for the single machine, and batching process using the dynamic programming principle. Number of tardy jobs improved based on Hodgson Algorithm. The proposed algorithm is not an optimal algorithm as we can not guarantee optimal in scheduling process, nevertheless the batching method can bring out an optimal solution. This research also discusses numerical cases to show model behavior. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia: Penelitian ini membahas model penjadwalan job pada flowshop-4-stage untuk proses fabrikasi dan perakitan. Setiap job terdiri dari 1 unique component dan 1 common component, yang keduanya diproses pada tiga mesin pertama secara serial dan dirakit pada mesin keempat. Unique component diproses satu per satu sedangkan common component diproses dalam batch dengan waktu setup yang konstan untuk setiap batch. Kriteria yang digunakan adalah minimisasi lateness maksimum dan jumlah tardy jobs. Pengembangan model dilakukan untuk mengakomodasi adanya job yang terlambat. Algoritma dimulai dengan proses penjadwalan job dengan menggunakan aturan earliest due date (EDD) untuk mesin tunggal, dan proses batching dengan menggunakan pemrograman dinamis. Jumlah tardy jobs diperbaiki dengan Algoritma Hodgson. Algoritma yang diusulkan bukan merupakan algoritma optimal karena proses penjadwalan yang tidak dijamin optimal, meskipun proses batching dapat menghasilkan solusi optimal. Penelitian ini dilengkapi dengan contoh numerik untuk menunjukkan perilaku model. Abstract

The purpose of this research is to design Mathematical models that can determine the selling volume as an alternative to improve the markup percentage. Mathematical models was designed with double regression statistic. Selling volume is a function of markup, market condition, and substitute condition variables. The designed Mathematical model has fulfilled by the test of: error upon assumption, accurate model, validation model, and multi collinear problem. The Mathematical model has applied in application program with expectation that the application program can give: (1) alternative to decide percentage markup for user, (2) Illustration of gross profit estimation that will be achieve for selected percentage markup, (3) Illustration of estimation percentage of the units sold that will be achieve for selected percentage markup, and (4) Illustration of total net income before tax will get for specific period. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang model Matematis guna menetapkan volume penjualan, sebagai alternatif untuk menentukan persentase markup harga jual produk. Model Matematis dirancang menggunakan Statistik Regresi Berganda. Volume penjualan merupakan fungsi dari variabel markup, kondisi pasar, dan kondisi pengganti. Model Matematis yang dirancang sudah memenuhi uji: asumsi atas error, akurasi model, validasi model, dan masalah multikolinearitas. Rancangan model Matematis tersebut diterapkan dalam program aplikasi dengan harapan dapat memberi: (1) alternatif bagi pengguna mengenai berapa besar markup yang sebaiknya ditetapkan, (2) gambaran perkiraan laba kotor yang akan diperoleh setiap pemilihan markup, (3) gambaran perkiraan persentase unit yang terjual setiap pemilihan markup, dan (4) gambaran total laba kotor sebelum pajak yang dapat diperoleh pada periode yang bersangkutan. Kata kunci: model Matematis, aplikasi program, volume penjualan, markup, laba kotor.

Abstract

This paper investigates a development of single machine batch scheduling for multi items with dependent processing time. The batch scheduling problem is to determine simultaneously number of batch (N), which item and its size allocated for each batch, and processing sequences of resulting batches. We use total actual flow time as the objective of schedule performance. The multi item batch scheduling problem could be formulated into a biner-integer nonlinear programming model because the number of batch should be in integer value, the allocation of items to resulting batch need binary values, and also there are some non-linearity on objective function and constraint due to the dependent processing time. By applying relaxation on the decision variable of number of batch (N) as parameter, a heuristic procedure could be applied to find solution of the single machine batch scheduling problem for multi items.

Abstract

Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Pekerjaan seorang teller tergolong sebagai pekerjaan non-produksi. Karena itu penilaian hasil kerja pada teller tidak dapat didasarkan pada hasil-hasil yang bersifat kuantitatif. Penilaian kinerja berbasis perilaku seperti BOS dalam menilai kinerja seorang teller akan jauh lebih efektif dan adil karena terfokus pada perilaku-perilaku penting dalam aktifitas keseharian (daily critical incidents) seorang teller. Dari sisi instrumentasi, prosedur penerapan BOS pada sistem perbankan menjadi sedikit lebih sederhana dibandingkan jenis-jenis perusahaan lain karena bank adalah perusahaan yang sangat birokratis. Artinya, sebenarnya perilaku-perilaku penting seorang teller adalah perilaku-perilaku terstandarisasi (sudah tercantum dalam SOP harian), dan hampir tidak mungkin dapat dimodifikasi untuk menjadi lebih baik oleh seorang teller (better performance). Masalahnya, dalam penilaian kinerja seringkali sebuah perusahaan memerlukan hasil penilaian yang cukup tajam dan lugas terhadap hasil kerja karyawan terutama jika penilaian kinerja berkaitan dengan pelatihan, promosi, dan pemberian bonus. Untuk memenuhi tujuan perusahaan ini, dua buah teknik modifikasi skala penilaian, berupa pemaksaan skala (forced scales) dan penghilangan skala (scales elimination), keduanya disesuaikan dengan karakteristik pekerjaan perbankan, telah diterapkan pada lembar SOP. Analisis lanjutan berupa analisis statistik sederhana terhadap hasil BOS juga menunjukkan bahwa BOS dapat digunakan sebagai alat untuk mengevaluasi kinerja departemental, dalam hal departemen in front office (teller group), terutama melalui. penggambaran nilai rata-rata perilaku teler ke dalam kurva radar Kata kunci: PA, BOS, SOP, teller, kejadian kritis.

Abstract

Stakeholder condition is particularly important to reach project success. The objective of this study is to investigate the stakeholder conditions which are suggested in three parts; stakeholder impact, stakeholder engagement, and stakeholder psychological empowerment on project success. The data obtained from a questionnaire survey administered to 197 respondents for initial research, 204 for main research, and 5 construction companies for validation research by using structural equation modeling (SEM) with program AMOS 16. The results indicated that stakeholder psychological empowerment applying of the ability to perform has a significant influence on project success measured by quality performance. On the other hand, stakeholder engagement reflected by engagement scope has no significant influence on project success
