Abstract

Capacity of CDMA was limited by interferences and could be optimalyzed by reduce interferences to fulfill requirements of multiclass services. In this research, the impact of imperfect power control and imperfect sectorization to reverse-link user capacity of CDMA system based on signal to interference ratio (SIR) by using beamforming at mobile station transmitter and base station receiver have been analyzed. Beamforming would be used with assumed each element has uniformly excited, equally spaced linear array. CDMA system use hexagonal macro cell in home cell base station, which divided effectively into 3 sectors with 120o beam width. User capacities was influenced by power control factor, number of antenna beamforming elements and sectors, overlap angle due to imperfect sectorization, imperfect power control, SIR and processing gain CDMA. Results of this research indicate that the system with power control and sectorization using beamforming has larger capacity of multiclass system than without beamforming. Keywords: Beamforming, Power Control, Sectorization, Multiclass, CDMA.

Abstract

Decision modeling is one of the most prominent activity for architecture design of a software product line architecture. The decision modeling supports the selection of suitable composition of software components from the architecture of member products of a product line. However, only little effort have been devoted to quality attributes. To address this shortcoming, this paper present a method that hybrid the Analytical Hierarchy Process and the Formal Concept Analysis. The key issue of decision modeling that assessing a quality attributes of an architecture configuration is to measure the impact of a quality attributes that made by the set of components. In this paper, we analyze the software components composition that corresponds to the quality attributes. An illustrative example based on the e-Learning software product line is presented to demonstrate of how the proposed approach works. Keywords: Software Product Line, Product Line Architecture, Decision Modeling, Analytical Hierarchy Process, Formal Concept Analysis, Software Architecture Design

Abstract

Scheduling of courses in an university is not easy to solve. Beside viewing from the amount courses, we also need to view from lecturers perspective, namely possibilities of the lecturer that will teach more than one course. Because there is a possibility that the number of courses and the number of lecturers are not comparable. Moreover, classroom availability to manage teaching-learning activity should also be considered. Scheduling of courses at Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan Universitas Lancang Kuning still done manually, so that it requires a relatively long time in scheduling the courses and human errors often occurs in form of conflict on lecturer’s teaching schedule, classrooms usage, and the courses schedule of each classes. Therefore, a solution is needed to solve the existing scheduling problems. The method used is a Genetic Algorithm which is a computational approach to solve modeled problems by the biological evolution process. However, the use of Genetic Algorithm is still causing a conflict on the lecturers (1,70 %), usage of the classrooms (19,03 %) and the schedule of each classes (5,96 %), so these results can not be used for a real scheduling and still need researches and further development by trying different methods such as selection, crossover and mutation. Key words: Scheduling of courses, Genetic Algorithm

Abstract

Today, a form of technology known as Web 2.0 that thoroughly supports web-to-web interactions is present. Interactions, such as information sharing in the forms of document sharing (slideshare), picture sharing (flickr), video sharing (youtube), Wikis, and online networking (weblog and web-forum) are principally accommodating community empowerment services. These factors cause the appearance of social interaction through Internet as well as learning interaction and anywhere-anytime training which is recently called e-Learning. Basically, e-Learning needs a self-employed learning method and learning habits that emphasize on the learner as the most important role. However, e-learning system which is expected to boost the intensity of self-employed learning is incapable to represent the importance. This is proven with the current e-Learning system in Indonesia that only accommodates the delivery of learning materials identical to all active learners, ignores the cognitive aspects and does not offer any approach or experience of interactive self-learning and disregards the aspect of users’ ability to adapt. The proposed e-learning system which is Web 2.0-based utilizes ontology as the representation of meaning of knowledge formed by the learner. Kata kunci: adaptive e-Learning, e-Learning, ontology, personalization e-Learning

Abstract

This study tested the accuracy of speaker identification by using the MFCC (Mel Frequency Cepstral Coefficient) and SOM (Self Organizing Map). MFCC is used as feature extraction of voice signal. SOM is used to clustering the feature vectors that obtained from the MFCC. Weight vectors that obtained from the clustering will be used as a codebook. Voice testing is measured the proximity from the codebook by using the Euclidean Distance. The smallest value of the measurement results is the winner vector that representing a particular person. Test results show the SOM can be used for the identification of the speaker but with the highest average accuracy for female speaker only 54.4%, male speaker 75.6% and for all speaker 62.5%. Keywords:  Codebook, Euclidean Distance,  MFCC, SOM, Speaker Identification

Abstract

Abstract The aim of this research is to show whether a super-linearity speedup can be or cannot be achieved within normal personal computer in university laboratory with an effort-less cluster, based on a pre-boot execution environment (PXE) operating system. Super-linearity is a case of speedup where the time execution ratio of sequential versus parallel is more than the number of computing node. We create the High Performance Computing cluster environment based on Bioinformatics Research Group High Performance Computing (birgHPC), a remake of PelicanHPC. The environment is limited to 32 regular personal computers as PXE computing nodes, Pentium4 3.2GHz CPU. The head-node is equipped in Pentium4 3.2 GHz CPU, 2.5 GB RAM, 80 GB hard-disk. Basic Local Search Tool (BLAST) and Message Passing Interface BLAST (mpiBLAST) problems are conducted, searching sequences in 8.9GB unformatted database, within several environment settings. The challenge is to beat 7+ hours of computing time in a single machine of BLAST problem. It is concluded that super-linearity is a rare case that can be shown in simple limited environment. Even the experiment environment is tweaked: downsize the computing node RAM and upsize the searching sequence such that the cache effect can be significant. Keywords: Super-Linearity, High Performance Computing, Bioinformatics, mpiBLAST
