Abstract

This article aims to redefine Edward Said's definition of orientalism in the era of contemporary communication and information technology through the comments column for the film Squid Game on the IMDB (internet movie database) website. This paper argues that the Orientalist attitude of a dominant English-speaking country such as the United States emerged as a consequence of its white superior hegemony. In the midst of this orientalist attitude, today's communication and information technology has become a discursive channel for the world community to conduct ongoing discussions on films by Asians. By using the text in the comment column for the film Squid Game on IMDB.com as a case example, this article provides a discussion regarding the need to rethink the conceptual definition of orientalism today. This paper uses a digital research methodology with analysis tools using R Studio with two types of analysis, namely word cloud and sentiment analysis. By utilizing the programming language functions available in R Studio, this paper mines text from the IMDB.com comments column for the film Squid Game. This article contains results obtained from digital research methods, namely the Squid Game comments column focuses on characters, plot, acting and story. Meanwhile, sentiment analysis shows the dominance of positive sentiment and some negative sentiment. Therefore, this article argues that the battle between negative and positive sentiments in the Squid Game comments column is a means of resetting the negative stigma towards Asian films and eroding the orientalist attitudes that the West oppresses towards "the East."

Abstract

Now that we have entered an era of technological progress, a lot of social activism has started to take place on social media. There has been a lot of research discussing environmental activism that takes place on various social media. This research focuses on a person's attitude towards the circulation of environmental issues on social media. Attitude variables are taken from the TPB. Previous research examined all components of the TPB. However, this research only discusses attitudes that will have an influence. Apart from that, this research also discusses how a person's attitude after being exposed to environmental issue content can influence the desire to like the upload, donate, and volunteer. Research data was obtained using a precise quantitative method, namely by taking free samples. This method is carried out by distributing questionnaires on social media to make it easier for researchers to obtain samples that meet the criteria. Then the data obtained from distributing the questionnaires was analyzed using the SmartPLS and SPSS applications. From the results obtained, there is a positive relationship and significant influence between the predictor variables and the independent variables. This means that there really is an interplay between attitudes towards the content of environmental activism and the specified desires. Environmental activism content on social media is received positively by every individual. This is what makes them increasingly want to like environmental issue content, donate money and volunteer.

Abstract

Easy access to the internet provides many conveniences for its users. Thanks to the convenience provided, information can spread quickly and widely. However, for every advantage there are disadvantages. The easy dissemination of this information can also have negative impacts, one of which is the spread of fake news. Currently, fake news is very easy to find, especially in online media. This research is based on behavioral reasoning theory, which discusses the reasons behind individual behavior and intentions. The purpose of this theory is to find out the factors that influence the spread of fake news. In this research, there are 2 factors studied, JOMO and authenticating news before sharing through perceived believability. By distributing questionnaires to students and analyzed using SmartPLS, it can be concluded that JOMO and authenticating news before sharing have a negative effect on fake news-sharing intentions either through mediation or directly. The results show that individuals will not have the intention to spread fake news even though the person believes that the source of the information they receive is credible. Based on this research, individuals tend to check the veracity of the news they receive before sharing it to avoid fake news-sharing behavior. Apart from that, there are also some individuals who feel happier and more relaxed when they are not connected to information that is being widely reported, this is their reason not to engage in fake news-sharing.

Abstract

This qualitative method research aims to explain the use of artificial intelligence (AI) as an alternative means of optimizing interpersonal communication between doctors and pharmacists in terms of prescribing drugs. Because in practice, there are still many drug administration errors due to miscommunication between what the doctor writes or prescribes and what the pharmacist understands and gives to the patient. One that can be done by applying AI to electronic recipes. Unfortunately, the expansion of the use of AI technology in Indonesia in the pharmaceutical sector (especially drug prescribing) is still rarely found. In electronic prescribing, AI technology will help doctors to diagnose diseases suffered by patients through the analysis of previous medical reports. Then the doctor can directly send the prescription to the pharmacist through the computer. So that pharmacists can directly read, prepare and mix medicines. Through this mechanism, errors in prescribing that often occur can be minimized, thereby improving patient safety. The results of the study also show that although electronic prescribing can help overcome many medical problems, it can also cause new problems. For example electronic prescription systems can affect the workload of doctors and pharmacists by creating new types of prescribing errors such as delivery of prescriptions with medications, dosages or incorrect drug regimens. Not only that, but electronic prescribing systems can also raise concerns about information security and patient privacy when sharing prescription information with pharmacies. When sharing and storing patient prescription information, data security must be ensured to avoid changes that could potentially compromise the patient's health. The use of AI in electronic prescribing does not necessarily indicate clinical efficiency. Because it is also influenced by several factors, one of which is related to the knowledge and ability to use AI technology and the electronic prescribing system itself.
