Abstract

The ability to think critically is very important for students in solving contextual problems they face. However, sometimes students still lack critical thinking skills because in classroom learning, they are only required to solve calculation-based problems without understanding the underlying concepts. The purpose of this research is to develop a Math Trail MCM learning activity to enhance students' critical thinking skills. The research method used is Research and Development, with the ADDIE model as the research framework. The result of this study is a developed math trails activity that has been designed, tested, and revised through peer assessment. It is expected that the Math Trails activity will be beneficial. The average assessment score obtained was 3.55, indicating that the development of the learning activity using MathCityMp is good to be implemented in the teaching process. This trail can be used by educators to improve students' critical thinking skills and explore alternative learning models outside the classroom.

Abstract

This type’s of research is a descriptive studies with a qualitative approach that aims to describe the stages of geometric thinking in senior high school students according to Van Hiele's theory. The subjects in this study were students of class X-MIA SMA Plus Darma Siswa consisting of 3 people, namely 1 student with high ability, 1 student with moderate ability and 1 student with low ability. The instrument in this study was the researcher herself as the main instrument guided by valid and reliable geometry ability tests and interview guidelines. The research process follows the stages of: (a) formulating indicators of geometric thinking stages according to Van Hiele's theory based on relevant theory and research, (b) formulating valid and reliable supporting instruments (Van Hiele geometry tests and interview guidelines), (c) conducting collecting data to uncover students' geometric thinking stages on quadrilateral properties, (d) analyzing data on students' thinking stages according to Van Hiele's theory (e) discussing the results of the analysis, (f) making conclusions about the research results. The results showed: (a) KT subjects were at stage 4 (formal deduction) (b) KS subjects were at stage 3 (informal deduction), while (c) KR subjects were at stage 1 (visual).

Abstract

Abstract The attitude of cooperation is very important to be instilled in students so that students can easily socialize wherever they are. The attitude of cooperation is a self-aware attitude from each individual to help ease the burden on other individuals. The cooperation attitude has the characteristics of mutual care, cooperation, democracy, discussion, mutual help, habituation of consensus deliberation, empathy, solidarity, loyal friends, and volunteerism. In group learning after the Covid-19 pandemic, the students' cooperation attitude began to weaken. Several indicators of a weakened cooperation attitude were collaboration, caring, and sharing. According to the teacher, the weakening of this cooperation attitude is because students are used to learning independently at home, so students feel they can do their work without the help of their friends. Thus, this research aims to show the difference in the attitude of cooperation between those who use the project-based learning model and the conventional learning model of elementary school students. The data in this study were obtained from the results of the students' post-response which were analyzed using an independent sample t-test. The results of the post-response show that there is a very significant difference in the attitude of cooperation between those who use the project-based learning model and those who use conventional learning models of elementary school students. This difference can be seen from the post-response results of the experimental class which applies the project-based learning model which is higher than the control class which applies the conventional learning model. Keywords: project based learning model, mutual cooperation attitude, elementary school Abstrak Sikap gotong royong sangat penting ditanamkan didalam diri siswa agar siswa dapat mudah bersosialisasi dimanapun mereka berada. Sikap gotong royong adalah sebuah sikap sadar diri dari masing-masing individu untuk membantu meringankan beban individu lain. Sikap gotong royong memiliki karakteristik saling peduli, bekerja sama, demokratis, diskusi, saling membantu, pembiasaan musyawarah mufakat, empati, solidaritas, setia kawan, dan kerelawanan. Dalam pembelajaran berkelompok setelah masa pandemi covid-19 saat ini sikap gotong royong siswa mulai melemah, Beberapa indikator sikap gotong royong yang melemah adalah kolaborasi, kepedulian, dan berbagi. menurut guru melemahnya sikap gotong royong ini dikarenakan siswa terbiasa belajar secara mandiri dirumah, sehingga siswa merasa dapat mengerjakan tugasnya sendiri tanpa dibantu oleh temannya. Dengan demikian, tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menunjukan perbedaan sikap gotong royong antara yang menggunakan model project-based learning dan model pembelajaran konvensional siswa sekolah dasar. Data pada penelitian ini didapatkan dari hasil post-response siswa yang dianalisis menggunakan uji independent sampel t test. Hasil dari post-response menunjukan terdapat perbedaan yang sangat signifikan sikap gotong royong antara yang menggunakan model project-based learning dengan yang menggunakan model pembelajaran konvensional siswa sekolah dasar. Perbedaan ini terlihat dari hasil post-response kelas eksperimen yang menerapkan model project-based learning lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas kontrol yang menerapkan model pembelajaran konvensional. Abstract

This study aims to conduct a qualitative study of the result of previous research related to the application of geogebra software to mathematical thinking skills in the 2018-2023 time frame. The research method uses systematic literature review (SLR) assisted by publish or perish software in the article search using the PRISMA protocol. The moderator variables in this study include the year published, level of education, research location, material, journal index, and type of mathematical thinking ability. The data is presented in a quantitative descriptive manner. The results showed that: 1). The distribution of studies on the application of geogebra to mathematical thinking skills is presented in the period 2022-2023, 2) The research location is dominated by Java, 3) The most widely used materials are derivatives, linear programs, and geometry, 4) The type of mathematical thinking ability that is widely studied is the ability to think creatively. Next, educators and researchers should research more on aspects of elementary school education level, materials other than derivatives, linear and geometry programs, and conduct more research outside Java. Regarding mathematical thinking skills, it is advisable to review logical and spatial thinking skills. Abstract

Abstract The ability to use statistical concept to describe, organize, represent and analyze data is called statistical reasoning which can be influenced by a reflective-impulsive cognitive style in processing the information obtained. This study is a descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The purpose of this study was to describe student’s statistical reasoning abilities in solving mathematics problem in terms of cognitive style with two subjects. The main instrument is the researchers and another instrument is MFFT, Statistical Reasoning Test and interview. The data were collected by conducting writing test and interviewing. Furthermore, analyzing was conducted base on indicator of statistical reasoning. The result showed that reflective and impulsive students carried out the same activities on the indicators of describing data, organizing data, and representing data. Meanwhile, on the indicator of analyzing data students are impulsive and make some mistakes. Keywords: Cognitive Style; Mathematics Problem; Statistical Reasoning. Abstrak Kemampuan seseorang dalam menggunakan konsep statistik untuk mendeskripsikian, mengkategorikan, merepresentasi dan menganalisis data disebut sebagai penalaran statistis yang dapat dipengaruhi oleh gaya kognitif reflektif dan impulsif seseorang dalam memproses informasi yang diperoleh. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan penalaran statistis siswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah matematika ditinjau dari gaya kognitif dengan dua subjek yaitu satu siswa reflektif dan satu siswa impulsif. Instumen utama dalam penelitian ini adalah peneliti sendiri dan instrument pendukung berupa tes MFFT, TPS (Tes Penalaran Statistis) serta pedoman wawancara, selanjutnya data yang telah dikumpulkan dianalisis berdasarkan indikator penalaran statistis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan siswa reflektif dan impulsif melakukan aktivitas yang sama pada indikator describing data, organizing data, dan representing data. Sedangkan, pada indikator analyzing data siswa impulsif melakukan beberapa kesalahan. Kata Kunci: Gaya Kognitif; Masalah Matematika, Penalaran Statistis

Abstract

Abstract Mathematical understanding is a person's capacity to recognize mathematical information and how this information is used as a strategy for solving an existing problem to achieve ease in obtaining the truth. However, students are still found who lack an understanding of inverse functions. This is very unfortunate, even though the inverse function is one of the materials that students must understand. This research aims to analyze students' mathematical understanding of inverse function material. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. The research subjects were 28 class XI students at one of Banda Aceh's high schools. Data collection used two instruments, namely a mathematical understanding test, and an interview guide. The triangulation used is time triangulation. The indicators tested on the test subjects were 1) restating the definition of the inverse function; 2) identifying functions that have an inverse and do not have an inverse; 3) showing examples and non-examples of functions that have an inverse; and 4) apply procedures and algorithms in solving inverse function problems. Based on the results of the analysis, show that a small number of students fulfill all the indicators of understanding in solving inverse function questions. Most students can apply the procedure but are unable to relate the answer to the concept of inverse functions. Keywords: Inverse functions; Comprehension indicators; Mathematical understanding. Abstrak Pemahaman matematis adalah kapasitas seseorang untuk mengenali informasi matematika dan bagaimana informasi tersebut digunakan sebagai strategi penyelesaian suatu permasalahan yang ada sehingga tercapainya kemudahan dalam memperoleh kebenaran. Namun faktanya masih ditemukan siswa yang kurang memiliki pemahaman fungsi invers. Hal ini sangat disayangkan, padahal fungsi invers merupakan salah satu materi yang harus dipahami oleh siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis bagaimana pemahaman matematis siswa pada materi fungsi invers. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. subjek penelitian yaitu 28 siswa kelas XI di salah satu SMA Banda Aceh. Pengumpulan data menggunakan dua instrument yaitu tes pemahaman matematis dan panduan wawancara. Triangulasi yang digunakan adalah triangulasi waktu. Indikator yang diuji kepada subjek tes yaitu 1) menyatakan ulang definisi fungsi invers; 2) mengidentifikasikan fungsi yang memiliki invers dan tidak memiliki invers; 3) menunjukkan contoh dan non-contoh fungsi yang memiliki invers; dan 4) menerapkan prosedur dan algoritma dalam menyelesaikan soal fungsi invers. Berdasarkan hasil analisis menunjukkan sebagian kecil siswa memenuhi keseluruhan indikator pemahaman dalam menyelesaikan soal fungsi invers. Sebagian besar siswa mampu menerapkan prosedur namun tidak mampu mengaitkan jawaban dengan konsep dari fungsi invers. Kata Kunci: Fungsi invers; Indikator Pemahaman; Pemahaman Matematis.

Abstract

Mathematics is studied in Indonesia at all school levels because it is able to train students' problem-solving skills and meet practical demands. Teachers and students still face a lot of challenges in putting these strategies into practice, though. The fact that the course material did not adhere to the approaches and models that attracted and engaged students was one of the problems. The 2013 curriculum aims to develop productive, inventive, creative, and character-defining learners by integrating the development of attitudes, abilities, and knowledge. The mind-mapping learning paradigm has the power to inspire pupils, excite them, and pique their interest in the content they are studying. In order to create educational materials employing a mind mapping methodology with a scientific approach, developmental research is also required. A stage known as implementation is necessary for the proper production and distribution of the development material. This study concentrates on the implementation phase to evaluate the usefulness and potency of the information. In one of Kupang's upper secondary schools, the eighth grade saw the implementation of instructional materials. Based on the outcomes of the data analysis, it was determined that each meeting's criteria for teacher and student learning activity fell into the "good" and "very good" categories and satisfied requirements for practicality. According to the post-test findings, 76% of the students were deemed successful. Thus, it may be said that the instructional materials created are efectively. Abstract

Abstract Teachers can teach students about circle material by implementing problem-based learning using learning tools because it can make solving mathematical problems easier for students. The tools developed are Learning Implementation Plans (RPP), Student Worksheets (LKS), and Learning Outcome Tests (THB) which can be used by teachers in teaching material to a circle of students. This device is applied in learning activities to determine differences in learning outcomes before and after using the learning device. This research is development research with the research subjects namely class VI students. The instruments of this research are tests, response questionnaires, validation sheets, and observation sheets. The data analysis methods used to develop the tools uses analysis of assessing the validity of learning tools, data analysis of the teachers’ ability to manage learning, analysis of student activity data, analysis of student response questionnaire data and analysis THB data analysis. Meanwhile, to see differences in learning outcomes, use the t-test. The results of this research show that problem-based learning tools with the help of GeoGebra in circle material meet the criteria of being valid, practical, and effective. The results of the paired sample t-test using R-studio stated that there were differences in student learning outcomes before and after implementing the problem-based learning model with the help of GeoGebra in circle material. Abstrak Guru dapat mengajarkan siswa tentang materi lingkaran dengan menerapkan pembelajaran berbasis masalah menggunakan perangkat pembelajaran karena dapat memudahkan penyelesaian masalah matematika bagi siswa. Perangkat yang dikembangkan berupa Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran (RPP), Lembar Kerja Siswa (LKS), dan Tes Hasil Belajar (THB) yang dapat digunakan guru dalam mengajarkan materi lingkaran kepada siswa. Perangkat tersebut diterapkan dalam kegiatan pembelajaran untuk mengetahui perbedaan hasil belajar sebelum dan setelah menggunakan perangkat pembelajaran. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan dengan subjek penelitian yaitu siswa kelas VI. Instrumen penelitian ini adalah tes, angket respon, lembar validasi, dan lembar observasi. Metode analisis data yang digunakan untuk mengembangkan perangkat menggunakan analisis penilaian validitas perangkat pembelajaran, analisis data kemampuan guru mengelola pembelajaran, analisis data aktivitas siswa, analisis data angket respon siswa dan analisis data THB. Sedangkan untuk melihat perbedaan hasil belajar menggunakan uji-t. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa perangkat pembelajaran berbasis masalah dengan bantuan GeoGebra pada materi lingkaran memenuhi kriteria valid, praktis dan efektif. Adapun hasil uji paired sample t-test menggunakan R-studio menyatakan bahwa terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar siswa sebelum dan sesudah menerapkan model pembelajaran berbasis masalah dengan bantuan GeoGebra pada materi lingkaran. Abstract

Abstract Problem-solving is the mental activity of each individual to find solutions to their problems. Problem-solving has become the heart of mathematics. Through problem-solving, students are required to think about the appropriate steps in obtaining a solution. One type of thinking is creative thinking. Creative thinking is the mental activity of each individual in solving problems by producing various kinds of new solutions. Creative thinking is an important part of problem-solving because it requires students to look at problems from different points of view. This article is the result of a literature study by reviewing several scientific articles published in accredited national journals. The article is studied in more depth, analyzed, and concluded. The results of this research show that creative thinking exists in solving mathematical problems. Through problem-solving activities, students can be trained to think creatively to be used to face challenges in future life. Pemecahan masalah telah menjadi jantungnya matematika. Melalui pemecahan masalah, siswa dituntut untuk berpikir tentang langkah-langkah yang tepat dalam memperoleh solusinya. Salah satu jenis berpikir adalah berpikir kreatif. Berpikir kreatif adalah aktivitas mental setiap individu dalam memecahkan masalah dengan menghasilkan berbagai macam solusi baru. Berpikir kreatif menjadi bagian penting dalam pemecahan masalah karena menuntut siswa untuk memandang persoalan berdasarkan sudut pandang yang berbeda. Artikel ini merupakan hasil studi literatur dengan mengkaji beberapa artikel ilmiah yang telah terpublikasi pada jurnal nasional terakreditasi. Artikel tersebut dikaji lebih mendalam, dianalisis, dan disimpulkan. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa berpikir kreatif ada dalam pemecahan masalah matematika. Melalui kegiatan pemecahan masalah siswa dapat dilatih untuk berpikir kreatif sehingga nantinya dapat digunakan dalam menghadapi tantangan di kehidupan yang akan datang. Abstract

Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penyelesaian soal cerita matematika dengan menggunakan Computational Thinking (CT). Penelitian ini berfokus pada kegiatan penyelesaian soal cerita matematika yang merupakan salah satu aspek penting yang muncul dalam soal-soal PISA, khususnya soal yang menguji literasi matematika. Analisis dan deskripsi teoretis tentang bagaimana proses CT dalam penyelesaian soal cerita matematika disajikan dengan gagasan utama yakni, computational thinking dapat dipandang sebagai pendekatan dalam penyelesaian masalah matematika. Dan karena untuk menyelesaikan soal cerita matematika membutuhkan kemampuan penyelesaian masalah matematika, maka CT dapat digunakan sebagai pendekatan penyelesaian soal cerita matematika. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode studi literatur, di mana data diperoleh melalui telaah, pembacaan, dan sintesis informasi dari beragam sumber. Sebanyak 19 artikel yang digunakan sebagai referensi berasal dari jurnal terakreditasi dengan minimal peringkat SINTA 4. Kesimpulan dari artikel ini adalah bahwa CT sebagai sebuah pendekatan dalam penyelesaian masalah matematika memiliki langkah-langkah yang sesuai dengan penyelesaian soal cerita matematika yang banyak dikemukakan oleh beberapa ahli sebelumnya. Langkah decomposition dan pattern recognition sesuai dengan langkah memahami, Abstraction sesuai dengan Perencanaan, algorithm design sesuai dengan menyelesaikan persamaan matematika, optimization and iteration sesuai dengan mengecek ulang solusi
