Abstract

Wood processing and furniture industries are industries that convert wood into processed wood in the form of items such as tables, chairs, cabinets and others. UD. Auzar Bersaudara and UD. Dirgantara is an industry engaged in wood processing and furniture. UD wood furniture manufacturing and processing capacity. UD Auzar Bersaudara 667 units / year, with selling price / unit about Rp 135,000 - Rp 1,100,000. The results show that the total net profit of UD wood processing and furniture industries. Auzar Bersaudara Rp 178.359.699 / year. The value of BCR of wood processing and furniture industry UD. Auzar Bersaudara is 1.48, then the business is feasible. So it can expand its business further by enlarging the business in other ways. UD wood furniture manufacturing and processing capacity. Capacity UD Dirgantara about 659 units, with selling price / unit about Rp 200,000- Rp 450,000. The results show that the total net profit of UD wood processing and furniture industries. UD Dirgantara for 1 year amounting to Rp 159,531,733 / year. The value of BCR of wood processing and furniture industry UD. Dirgantara is 1.36, then the business is feasible to be implemented. So it can expand its business further by enlarging the business in other ways.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of erosion hazard through erosion prediction by USLE method and Geographic Information System (GIS) at Water Catchment Area (WCA) Danau Wisata Bandar Kayangan. This research was conducted at WCA Danau Wisata Bandar Kayangan, Limbungan Village, District Rumbai, Pekanbaru. The research data was collected by survey method. Secondary data collection includes a slope digital map, land cover map, rainfall data, and soil type map of WCA Danau Wisata Bandar Kayangan. While the primary data is done by field checking to know land use pattern and soil type around WCA Danau Wisata Bandar Kayangan. The result shows that the erosivity index (R) is 108. The soil erodibility index (K) in Podsolik Merah Kuning (PMK) is 0.166. Slope length index (LS) on slope <8% flatland (20), 8 -15% ramps (15), 16 - 25% slightly steep (10). Crop management and soil conservation (CP) index covers settlement (1), Bush / 0.01), plantation (0,02), and lake (0,01). The result of overlay of rainfall maps, soil type, slope class, and crop management and soil conservation obtained 46 land units at WCA Danau Wisata Bandar Kayangan. The highest Erosion Hazard Index (EHI) is found on land unit 45 of 358 on residential land cover. The largest potential erosion on land unit 44 with soil loss is 41,189.45 ton / ha / yr. Level of EHI in WCA Area of Danau Wisata Bandar Kayangan includes Class EHI1: Very Light area of 32,627 ha; EHI Class 2: Lightweight of 59.86 ha; Class EHI 3: Medium area of 247.52 ha; Class EHI 4: Weight of 977,127 ha, Class EHI 5: Very Weight of 4,549.43 ha.

Abstract

Non-Timber Forest Products (NTFPs) are part of an ecosystem that has diverse roles both for the natural environment and for humans. NTFPs that are commonly used and commercialized include sandalwood, sap, gaharu, sago, rattan, aren, bamboo, medicinal plants and fruit plants. The purpose of this research is to perform financial analysis and feasibility of HHBK especially rubber and durian. The method used is survey method with purposive sampling to rubber farmer and durian in Siak Regency. The analysis of research data is descriptively qualitative. The results showed that rubber value of NPV Rp 7.076.819.809, -, BCR 2.24 and IRR 15.09% while durian has NPV Rp 738.553.324, - BCR 2.00 and IRR 13.67%. Based on the criteria of financial feasibility indicators can be concluded that the rubber cultivation and durian business financially feasible to be developed.

Abstract

The forest inventory is basically a data collection activities. This activity is relatively important, because the effect on further activities. Hence the data collected must have a high enough accuracy. A way of determining the sampling unit is considered to be simpler, easier, and faster is the tree sampl ing method. The purpose of this study was to quantify the potential large stands of eucalyptus in the Forest of eucalyptus plants in the Faculty of Forestry and calculate the relative efficiency of sample unit. The total area is 0.11 ha of eucalyptus stands. Unit examples used are circular, 4-trees sampling, sampling 5 -trees, and 6-trees sampling is done by simple random sampling method. Potential stands of eucalyptus with method 6 sample trees have an average volume stands perplot is 0.07 m3, with the volume of the stand for the entire area is 84.71 m3 with a sampling error of 36,96%. Potential stands of eucalyptus trees by the method of example 8 trees have a volume average stocking each plot is 0.04 m3, with the volume of the sta nd for the entire area is 43.22 m3 with a sampling error of 51.47%. Potential stands of eucalyptus by using 10 sample trees have an average volume stands each plot was 0.03 m3 with the volume of the stand for the entire area is 39.74 m3 with a sampling error of 53.34%. Potential stands of eucalyptus with a diameter circular sample plots of 12 m has an average volume stands each plot is 7.88 m3, with the volume of the stand for the entire area is 76.72 m3 with a sampling error of 14.43%.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the types of Non-Timber Forest Products (NTFPs) in the KPHP Model Minas Tahura area and analyze the development opportunities to diversify the income of the people around the forest. The research method is survey method, with object of forest area and community around forest. The data taken are primary data, ie vegetation types that have the potential to generate NTFPs and respondent profile data as well as their interests and desires to develop NTFPs. While the secondary data in the form of general conditions KPHP Model Minas Tahura and other data that support. The results of all data are analyzed descriptively. Result of survey and analysis of vegetation found 30 species at the level of trees, While at the pile level found 21 species, the level of sapling 16 species, and the level of seeds as many as 29 species. From all levels of vegetation growth, there are 21 species that potentially produce NTFPs with various functions and benefits, such as food, medicines, and industrial raw materials. The results of interviews and answers to questionnaires from community respondents around the forest, all respondents know NTFPs and are eager to develop various types of NTFPs in forest areas. It can be concluded that KPHP Model Minas Tahura area has the potential to develop NTFPs based on the availability of critical land for rehabilitation with various types of plants and the desire of surrounding communities to get involved in such activities.

Abstract

People around the Park Tour (PT) Sibolangit develop many NTFPs on land owned. Therefore, this study aims to: (1) find out the types of NTFPs most used by the community, (2) to know the value of NTFPs products, (3) to know the contribution of NTFPs to the income of the community. This research was conducted by survey method and conducted in two selected villages namely Sembahe Village and Bengkurung Village, Sibolangit Sub-district, Deli Serdang Regency. Communities in both research sites developed and utilized NTFPs such as pecan, petai, duku, durian, jengkol, mangosteen, areca nut, nira (aren) water, ginger, temulawak, and others. Most of these NTFPs are commercial (sold). NTFPs that has the greatest potential of water sap. The economic value of NTFPs in Sembahe village reaches Rp. 967.529.300 / year or accounted for about 57.28% of total family income. While the economic value of NTFPs in Bengkurung village reached Rp 509,180,000 / year or accounted for about 65.57% of total household income.

Abstract

The pulp and paper industry produces liquid waste in its production process. Liquid waste in solid form of sludge can be utilized as compost fertilizer. Research conducted at PT. Indah Kiat Pulp and PT Arara Abadi Rasau Kuning District, Riau Province. The aim of this research is to know the effect of compost fertilizer from pulp and paper industry waste on Eucalyptus pellita growth and to determine the most appropriate dose of compost for growth of Eucalyptus pellita. The research method was done by applying compost in 3-month Eucalyptus pellita with dosage of o gram, 750 gram, 1000 gram and 1250 gram. Parameters measured over 3 months were plant height, plant diameter and number of leaves. Provisi on of compost fertilizer from pulp and paper industry waste has no significant effect on Eucalyptus pellita growth. Visually, the most appropriate dose of compost for the growth of Eucalyptus pellita is a dose of 1000 grams.

Abstract

Since the early 2000s, Forestry Department of Indonesia has been implementing the Forest Management Unit (FMU) development program. The existence of FMU can be seen as a prerequisite for the implementation of sustainable forest management and equitable. How FMU institution prospects can improve forest governance in Indonesia? The aim of this study is to explore the prospects of FMU institution to improve forest governance in Indonesia. The study used forestry governance dimensions of Mayers and Macqueen (2002) as an analytical tool. The study results showed that both conceptual and is based on the processes of development, FMU has accommodated most of the values of good forestry governance.

Abstract

Non-Timber Forest Products (NTFPs) is part of a forest ecosystem that has an important role. One of NTFPs which have high economic value and is a source of livelihood of rural communities is often called wild honey or honey sialang. This study aims to: 1) Calculate the potential of the tree and the honey produced sialang 2) Knowing how to manage the honey sialang by society and the problems. Primary data was collected through interviews with respondents using the help of questioners. Data were analyzed descriptively. Potential production of honey from the beehive tree is quite large, each tree can sialang inhabited by about 30 colonies/nest, where the number has further decreased when compared to the time of the woods yet many are converted. In each tree each harvest can be produced approximately 150 kg of honey. Institutional managers honey sialang in the Sub-District of Middle Kampar Kiri is still very minimal. Honey gatherers farmers' organizations have not yet formed, there is only one indigenous group in the village of Penghidupan, whose members are people who are still there family relationship. There are 130 trees sialang and produced 19,500 kg of honey. Honey sialang management is still done traditionally.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the estimated economic value of water in Rumbio Forest Indigenous Prohibition for domestic use existing community around the forest. The method of data collection is done in a survey by random sampling. The economic value of water for domestic use Rp 347 871 206 per year. Willingness to pay (WTP) is Rp1.907.657.086 per year in order to obtain the consumer surplus of Rp 1,559,785,880 per year. In addition there are 13 businesses sales of water to three villages around the Rumbio forest indigenous prohibition.
