Abstract

From the exploration results at Biosphere Reserve GSK-BB Riau in 2009 together with Tokyo University of Agriculture, found that Meranti Bakau (Shorea uliginosa Foxw.) has the potential to produce high bioethanol. So one needs to be developed is done vegetatively propagation through shoot cuttings. This study aims to obtain a dose of Rootone F and Media Planting appropriate for the growth and development of shoot cuttings. The method used is complete factorial randomized design that is first factor of dose of rootone F 1 g/l water, rootone F 2 g/l water and rootone F 3 g/l water. The second factor is the type of soil media: peat soil + sand 1: 1, peat + sand 2: 1 and peat + sand 3: 1. The results showed that the use of Rootone F and peat soil media and sand at various treatment doses can not give growth to the shoot cuttings of meranti bakau plants. The combination of Rootone F dosage and peat soil media and sand can not provide good growth in shoot cuttings.

Abstract

City forest with many stratum provides the surrounding environment is relatively more comfortable than the low stratum. In order to achieve success in achieving management objectives, the types planted in urban forest development and development programs should be selected based on the consideration that crops grow well and can cope with emerging environmental problems in the region. Identifying the suitability of existing tree species in urban forest is intended to obtain maximum plant growth and municipal forest benefits. The purpose of this study is to identify the suitability of forest conifer tree species in Pekanbaru City. Data collection is done by survey in the field by defecting the existing tree species in urban forest. The result of tree species identification is used to evaluate the suitability of tree species of forest forest. A literature study was conducted to find out the growing requirements and characteristics of tree species of urban forest in the study sites. Data analysis is conducted by considering silvicultural, management and aesthetic requirements. Based on this criteria are made that is appropriate, quite appropriate, and not appropriate. Based on the results of the study can be summarized as follows: The type of urban forest in Pekanbaru City is the protection and recreation with the form of clusters / gangs and paths; There are 15 species of trees that have appropriate criteria based on silvicultural, management and aesthetic requirements; There are 15 species of trees capable of controlling air pollution.

Abstract

Management and exploitation of forest products required for planning to be prepared for sustainable forest exploitation and also taking into account aspects of Sustainability. The so-called aspects are production capabilities, ecological functions and social functions. In order to achieve these matters, appropriate data are needed to present information on the potential for existing forest stands through forest inventory activities. In the inventory activity found some problems that occur in terms of cost, time, problems and human resources needed. Factors that will affect the data we get. These inhibiting factors can be overcome by creating three groups using methods that have been developed both in data retrieval techniques and data processing. The sampling method as a suitable and effective method in which the sampling method used in the inventory activity is a conventional method using a plot or a circle plot with the area and sampling determined according to the age class of the stand. In addition, using conventional methods is another method that also has accurate and precise information. Method of sampling trees. This study aims to the effectiveness and effectiveness of tree sampling methods and circular plot methods, making it easier to find an efficient and effective location in the work area of PT. Perawang Sukses Perkasa Petapahan District. The research was conducted in the plantation of industrial plant Ekaliptus (Eucalyptus pellita) located at PT. Perawang Sukses Perkasa Industri Petapahan District, Kampar District, Riau Province. This research was conducted for 2 months ie in May - June 2018. Based on the results of research conducted method of circular plot will be more effective and has a higher level of accuracy than other methods with a value of 2.9% sampling error. When viewed from a relative point of view, the relative average yield using the tree sampling method of 8 trees is more easily done in a circular manner with a relative value of 200.28% and accuracy is still accountable.

Abstract

This research is raining to process processes, calculate and analyze process and mechanical quality and analysis during mechanical and semi-mechanical processes. Research location in CV. Malibur Indah, CV. Kulim Jaya Refinery, Kec. Merbau, Kab. Meranti Archipelago and Faculty of Forestry Laboratory, Lancang Kuning University. This research is done by looking at the production process, deadlock data, data generation, and physical data. Data were analyzed descriptively. Processing of sago in mechanical and semi-mechanical processing consists of raw material preparation, dissolution, starch extraction, precipitation, drying and packing. At stage production of flour production machine for 35 hours, workforce 26 people, product amount 7.5 tons and product produced 7 tons. While the semi-mechanical processing of the production process lasts for 32 hours, labor 10 people, the number of products 1 ton and the product produced 750 kg. Physical quality on mechanical processing ie moisture content of 15.62%, ash content of 0.408% and fineness of flour by 90.23%. While in semi-mechanical processing that the air content of 17.63%, ash content of 0.385%, and flour refinement of 81.17%. Organoleptic test results use more mechanical processing by panelists on texture, while in semi-mechanical processes more panels on color and aroma.

Abstract

Forest cover changes were influenced by many factors, some of which were biophysical characteristics, socio-economic conditions, and community cultural. The behavior of forest cover changes in each of Indonesia's regions varied, either its rate or its driving factors. The establishment of village typologies to categorize village administrative areas becomes important to see the driving factors that trigger forest change in each typology. The objective of this study was to develop the village typology and to identify the driving forces of forest cover change in each village in Kubu Raya Regency, West Kalimantan. The development of village typology was done by applying the clustering approach with standardized euclidean distances. Based on the proportion of forest in 2015, the study found that there are two village typologies within the study area with 81% OA. The study also recognized that the most significant driving forces of forest cover change in T1 were the distance from rivers (X2) and settlements (X3), whereas in T2 were the distance from roads (X1) and the edge of forest in 2015 (X9). The study concludes that the proximity from the center of the human activities holds a significant influence on the behavior of forest cover changes.
