Abstract

Traditional and small-scale gold mining, known as ASGM (Small Scale Gold Mining), has been approved forpollution of the environment specifically for watersheds. This research was conducted in Boto Village,Jatiroto Subdistrict, Wonogiri Regency, Central Java Province. This study discusses the analysis ofcomposition and heavy metals and the factors that support heavy metals in the study site. The samplestaken were 22 samples along the river flow in the upstream and downstream areas. Tests of content werenot carried out by the ICP-AES method. Laboratory test results on river sediment samples were thenanalyzed statistically, geoaccumulation index and enrichment factors were calculated. Laboratory test resultsshow that most do not have heavy metal content exceeding the average concentration of heavy metals inriver sediments. The spread of heavy metals in river sediments in the study sites was found to be varied withdifferences in the upstream and downstream areas. In general, upstream areas have higher metal reservescompared to downstream. Distribution of heavy metals for everything that has not been planned, isprocessed by natural processes or human activities. Traditional mining activities contribute significantly incontributing to the addition of Hg, as well as contributing to the increase of other metals, most of which are inthe mineralized area, which fully contains high metal reserves.

Abstract

Magnetic separator testing uses two variables, namely the speed of the roller on the conveyor belt andthe feed speed. Due to the minimum number of variations that can be used in magnetic separatortesting, roller speed testing is used at 0.6 m / s and 0.7 m / s. the variation of figures at the feedingspeed of 0.21 kg / s and 0.35 kg / s so that 8 samples obtained from the processing of a magneticseparator with 4 magnetic samples and 4 non-magnetic samples. The feed samples used wereprepared by drying and sifting into 3 size fractions to be used in the grain counting analysis process sothat the percentage of minerals contained in the sample were found: 15.82% Cassiterite, 63.95%Ilmenite, 6.09% Monazite, 0.48% Pyrite / Marcasite, 1.61% Zircon, 1.44% Topaz, 0.65% Tourmalineand 9.96% Quartz. The effect of roller speed on the increase tin ore content is still common, this isbecause there are not many experiments carried out so that taking the trend of the influence of theroller speed is too fast. The effect of feed speed, the greater the feed speed on the magneticseparator, the smaller the tin ore content obtained.

Abstract

Competency enhancement in trass utilization was given to local communities of Nagreg Kendan,Bandung, West Java. This activity was intended to explore the potential of local cummunity indeveloping trass deposit utilization for local economy. This activity is expected to providerecommendation and encouragement for local community to develop entrepreneurship in utilizing andmanaging mineral resources potential. This activity was divided into several parts, they are pre-test,counseling and discussion about trass utilization, and also post-test to evaluate local community’sbasic knowledge. Local community shows good knowledge and enthusiasm of local community indeveloping local economy through trass utilization.

Abstract

Mining activities is commonly to work with the problem of stability of rock mass, then befordesaining mine’s slope should know rock shear strength parameters, such as cohesion (c) andinternal friction angle value ( . Beside those parameters, also needed to know the impact ofwater content to the rocks. The water content will effect rock’s shear strength, proof by the rockcondition which is ductile when it is dry and soft when it is wet. Based on test results was doneusing sandstone with laboratory scale of direct shear test were analyzed using mohr – coulomband patton criteria (1966). It is known that the cohesion (c) of sandstone decreased from 510,35kPa at natural condition down to 133,75 kPa at wet condition. The internal friction angle ( ) alsodecreased from 54,56° at natural condition down to 48,45° at wet condition. The reduction of theshear strength is caused by fragments and clay minerals characteristics which are so reactiveand very easy to absorb water so that the cohesion of the sandstone reduce the active normalstress so that working the shear stress required to cause the shear failure becomeweaker. From the results, it is also known that the shear surface roughness had a lot ofinfluence on the shear strength the normal stresses applied on the direct shear tests werevery low under 20% of UCS.

Abstract

Field activities conducted to determine the level of mercury content in the water flow of Lake Payawan,Tumbang Panggo Village, Tasik Payawan District, Katingan Regency, Central Kalimantan Provincebased on laboratory test results to obtain the results of mercury content in upstream to downstream ofLake Payawan. From this research, it is necessary to test the quality of water in the laboratory in orderto analyze the water quality parameters so it can be known mercury content (Hg) in Lake Payawanwater flow. From the test results on 6 points river water samples in the laboratory of the IndustrialResearch and Standardization Center of Banjarbaru City showed the highest mercury content found insample number 3 with P. 2076 test code taken at the location of the middle Lake Payawan TasikPayawan District with mercury levels located At a rate of 0.069 μg / l or 0.000069 mg / l, this reflectsthe presence of other factors that may also affect the level of mercury content in Lake Payawan flow.
