Abstract

Silver nanoparticles have been synthesized using kluwak leaf extract (Pangium edule Reinw) as bioreductor and antioxidant activity assay. The nanoparticles formed were monitored by observing UV-Vis absorption and characterized by using FTIR, PSA, XRD and SEM instruments. The result of functional group characterization with FTIR show that the functional groups OH, C = O, C-O and CH2 act as Ag+ reducing agent. The size of silver nanoparticles was determined by using Particle Size Analyzer (PSA) and the result show average particle size distribution of 93.2 nm. Morphology of AgNp were observed by Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) and X-Ray Difraction (XRD) analysis show result of 51,78 nm. The antioxidant activity was shown by in kluwak leaf extract and silver nanoparticles with IC50 values respectively 831,33 ppm dan 1493,09 ppm.

Abstract

Research on the analysis of the anatomy of the stomatal and trichomes of the medicinal plant Dandang Gendis Clinacanthus nutans (Burm.f.) Lindau in Makassar City. This study aims to determine the anatomical structure of the stomatal and trichomes of longitudinal cross-section of leaves that are used as herbal medicines. This research method was used to spread acetone to obtain stomatal prints on the leaf surface, the data were analyzed descriptively. The results of the analysis of the anatomy of the stomatal and trichomes of leaves of the medicinal plant Dandang Gendis Clinacanthus nutans (Burm.f.) Lindau was a diacytic type of stomatal, the spread of stomatal was only found on the surface of the abaxial leaf including the apple type. The number of abaxial stomatal was 160 stomatal/mm2. The number of epidermal cells was 748 epidermis/mm2 and abaxial 504 epidermis/mm2, stomatal index 23.95%, and stomatal size 159.26 µm. On the adaxial and abaxial surfaces of the leaves of Dandang Gendis Clinacanthus nutans (Burm.f.) Lindau, glandular and lithocyst trichomes were encountered.

Abstract

This research is the phenotypic characteristics and grouping of hybrid waxy corn Zea mays L. product of the top cross had been carried out in the experimental plant Indonesian Cereals Research Institute (ICERI) in Maros South Sulawesi. This research aims to determine the phenotypic characters of the hybrid of waxy corn Zea mays L. product of the top cross and grouping based on its phenotypic characteristics. This research used a randomized block design (RBD) with 17 th treatments (corn strains) and three replications. Waxy corn strains used were: URI 1 (G8), G8G1, G8G2, G8G3, G8G4, G8G5, G8G6, G8G7, Soppeng (G10), G10G1, G10G2, G10G3, G10G4, G10G5, G10G6, G10G7, and Paramitha.. All data (qualitative and quantitative) are arranged in binary tables and grouped using the NTSYST program. The observations show that the data obtained comes from 14 quantitative characters and 17 qualitative characters. Quantitative data from 14 characters were tested and the results of 10 characters were significantly different and the other 4 were not significantly different. The grouping results show that the 17 corn strains studied formed 3 groups at the similarity coefficient of 0.76. Soppeng's corn is different from the others.

Abstract

Inventory broadleaf weeds on corn land Zea mays L. in Samangki village, Simbang subdistrict, Maros district has done on Maret-April 2019. The purpose of this study was to inventory the types of broadleaf weeds on corn land in Samangki Village, Simbang Subsdistrict, Maros District. The research method used Cruise Method. Analysed data with identification and describe the sample which habitus of the plants. Research result showed that species broadleaf weeds were 2 classis: Monocotyledoneae dan Dicotyledoneae. Total number of broadleaf weeds were 33 species and 17 familia. Broadleaf weeds in first location which age corn 3 week were 14 species dan 9 familia, second location which age corn 6 week were 25 species dan 15 familia and three location which age corn 8 week were 26 species dan 16 familia. Asteraceae familia have more species that 6 species, were Ageratum conyzoides L., Emilia sonchifolia (L.) DC ex. Weight, Eupatorium odoratum (L.), Vernonia cinerea L., Tridax procumbens L., dan Eleutheranthera ruderalis (Sw.) Sch.Bip.

Abstract

Diabetes is a disease associated with other diseases such as heart attacks and hypertension. Research has been conducted on "Test the Potential of Eunice Siciliensis Sea Worm Extract on Rattus Novergicus Rat Blood Sugar Levels". This study aims to determine the potential of Eunice Siciliensis Sea Worm Extract on the Blood Sugar Level of Rattus norvegicus Mice. In this study, dried sea worm extract was macerated, the maceration results will be evaporated after drying it. The test animal was induced with alloxan to increase blood sugar levels. Furthermore, treated with sea worm extract with doses of 45 6 gr/ kgdw, 90 6 gr/ kgdw and 180 6 gr/ kgdw, respectively. Positive control using acarbose, and negative control Na-cmc 1%. The results showed that administration of sea worm extract would reduce blood sugar levels in rats at a dose of 180 6 gr/ kgdw.

Abstract

Naphthol color substance is a dye that is widely used in the batik industry and usually waste from batik industry household scale directly discharged into the environment without being processed first. This study was conducted to determine the ability of fungia isolated from batik industrial wastes in Makassar to decolorize and degrade dye naphthol. Isolation of naphthol dye degrading fungi was done by using a PDA medium containing 50 ppm naphthol dye. To determine the ability of decolorization and degradation is done visually and decreasing OD at λ580 at various concentrations. In addition to measuring the growth of biomass fungi and PH. The results showed that decolorization and degradation ability by isolate of SL4 and BK4 fungi isolated from batik waste hence the best result shown by SL4 isolate at naphthol concentration of 20%.

Abstract

The research on "The condition of coral health in the coastal waters of the Gonda, Polewali Mandar, West Sulawesi" has been carried out in April 2018. This study aims to determine the health conditions of coral reefs in the waters of Gonda Beach, Polewali-Mandar, West Sulawesi Province, using health tables coral. Data retrieval is carried out using the "Line Intercept Transect (LIT)" method with 50-meter transect in depths of 3 m and 10 m,The parameter that observed was the colour of coral colony. Data processing is carried out by entering approximately 20 coral colonies that have been found in the entry excel coral watch that are already available with standardized data processing columns. The results of this study indicate that coral health conditions in the coastal waters of Gonda, Polewali - Mandar, West Sulawesi Province classified as in the unhealthy category. The highest percentage of coral colonies is branched coral colonies.

Abstract

Research on diversity of bivalvia in Teluk Bogam Beach, Kumai subdistrict, Kotawaringin Barat regencyt, Central Kalimantan. This research aims to know diversity of bivalvia species that live on sandy substrates and muddy substrates. This research was conducted in July-September 2018. Sampling used purposive sampling technique, then identified and calculated diversity index, evenness, density, relative density and dominance. Based on the results of the study, 6 species found were Anadara granosa, Meretrik meretrik, Perna viridis, Placenta Placuna, Hiatula chinensis, Semele cordiformis. The level of diversity on sandy substrate is 1.5764 while the muddy substrate is 1.1269 including the criteria for the low diversity index. Evenness value on sandy substrate is 2.0238 and muddy substrate is 1.434 when seen from the evenness criteria both have very high evenness value. The density index on the overall sandy substrate is 26.8 ind/m2 and the overall muddy substrate is 16.3 ind/m2, the index of relative density on the sandy substrate is 61.594% and the relative density of the muddy substrate is 38.03%. Dominance index on sandy substrate was 1.7253 while on muddy substrate was 9,944. The physical chemical quality of water based on observations of water temperature ranged from 270C - 300C, DO ranged from 6.2 mg/l – 7.41 mg/l and pH 7.00.

Abstract

The stretch of the Tallo River which stretches across the Makassar city area, and not far from the Makassar Industrial Area, causes contamination of various heavy metals. Some bacteria grow in the presence of toxic properties on heavy metals. The purpose of this study was to obtain bacterial isolates that were able to grow at several concentrations of lead (Pb).Bacteria were isolated by using Nutrient Agar has been added Pb (NO)3 10 ppm. Resistance test was conducted by turbidimetry using a spectrophotometer. Based on research that has been done, the result of isolation of resistant bacteria lead from Tallo River showed that 5 isolates from samples of sediment with code isolates SM3, SM5, SM6, SM9 and SM10, while for the water samples obtained 3 isolates by code isolates AR1, AR2 and AR3. Ability to resist bacteria ie until the concentration of 50 ppm, while the highest growth ability of each different isolates, the highest growth capability isolates SM3, SM6 SM10 and AR3 at a concentration of 10 ppm. SM5 isolates had the highest growth capability at a concentration of 15 ppm. AR2 isolates had the highest growth capability at a concentration of 20 ppm. Isolates SM9 and AR1 has the highest growth capability at a concentration of 25 ppm.

Abstract

Spirulina is a marine phytoplankton that is a microalgae that has great potential in life, one of which is food, because the nutritional coverage contained in this marine phytoplankton includes proteins, carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals, essential fatty acids DHA and EPA so that it can be used as an alternative nutritious food. . The purpose of this activity is to training on inovative snack “Poto Poto Sinjai”, how to make Spirulina in Bongki Village, Sinjai Regency. The method used in this activity consisted of a location survey and the production of snack from Spirulina . The implementation phase of the activity using counseling methods and training on the benefits of Spirulina as nutritious food and making snack Spirulina. The results of the implementation of this activity were the increase in participants' knowledge about snack Spirulina, as a highly nutritious snack. The results of the knowledge improvement test show that there is a fairly good increase in knowledge of the snack Spirulina innovation products and the results of the organoleptic test show that preference for taste, aroma, texture and color shows good results.
