Abstract

This study aims to analyze the dominant physical condition of young players at Academy Utama Raya, with a primary focus on four physical components: speed, endurance, agility, and explosive power. The study employs a quantitative descriptive method using purposive sampling on 20 athletes aged 13–14 years. Data were collected through a series of physical tests, including the 30-meter sprint test, Illinois Agility Test, Standing Broad Jump, and Pacer Test. The results show that explosive power and speed are the two most dominant physical components among the participants, while agility and endurance fall into the moderate to low categories. These findings have important implications for coaches in designing more balanced training programs to enhance overall physical performance. The study also emphasizes the importance of early physical development to support optimal athletic growth in the future.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of training using hand paddles and fins on the crawl swimming speed of athletes from the ULMA Swimming Club. The study was conducted over a period of approximately two months at the Tanah Pata Swimming Pool in Bengkulu City, with a total of 16 training sessions. The research method used was an experiment, with a sample of 20 male athletes selected through purposive sampling, specifically athletes from age groups 4 and 5. The instrument used was a crawl stroke (freestyle) swimming speed test. Data analysis was conducted through analysis prerequisite tests, including normality tests, homogeneity tests, and hypothesis tests. The normality test results showed that the pretest and posttest data had a normal distribution, with Lhitung < Ltabel (0.112 < 0.190 for the pretest and 0.165 < 0.190 for the posttest). The homogeneity test showed that the data was homogeneous, with Fhitung = 0.78 < Ftabel = 3.52. From the data analysis, the correlation coefficient was found to be r = 0.93 and the determination coefficient was 85.63%, indicating that training using hand paddles and fins has a very strong influence on improving crawl swimming speed. Therefore, it can be concluded that this training program is effective in enhancing crawl swimming performance in young athletes.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the obstacles experienced by physical education teachers in implementing exercise habits as part of the 7 Great Indonesian Children's Habits program at the elementary school level of Banjarbaru City. The research approach used is a mixed method with a sequential explanatory design, namely the collection of quantitative data first through a Likert scale questionnaire to 18 physical education teachers, then followed by in-depth interviews with 16 teachers who experienced the most dominant obstacles. The results of the quantitative analysis show that most of the 9 physical education teachers face obstacles in the medium category with a percentage 50%, with the main obstacles being a lack of facilities and facilities, low student participation, and lack of support from families. Meanwhile, qualitative data confirm that although teacher motivation is quite high, the implementation of monitoring sports activities and the use of supporting technology is still limited. The conclusions of this study emphasize the importance of collaboration between teachers, schools, parents, and the government in supporting the program. Efforts to increase teacher capacity through training, provision of adequate sports facilities, and the integration of sports habits into the curriculum and overall school culture are the main recommendations. The results of this research are expected to be used as a basis for consideration in designing strategic policies to strengthen character education through sustainable physical activities in the elementary school environment.

Abstract

This study to develop referee Smart Card learning media as a means of learning basketball referee signals for extracurricular participants at the high school, vocational high school, and madrasah Aliyah levels. This research uses the Research and Development (R&D) method by adapting the Borg  and Gall development model which consists of ten steps, namely (1) Initial information gathering, (2) Planning, (3) Initial Product manufacturing, (4) Expert validation, (5) Initial product revision, (6) Small scale trial, (7) Small scale product revision (8) Large scale trial (9) Final product (10) Mass production. The result of material and media expert validation showed that the product obtained an average assessment of 89,5% with Very Good criteria. Small scale trials were carried out Senior High School 1 Nalumsari and obtained an average score of 85,4% in the Good category. The large scale trial was conducted at Senior High School 1 Pecangaan, Vocational High School 3 Jepara , and Madrasah Aliyah 1 Jepara with the average assessment results of 96%, 91%, and 90% respectively, so that the total overall average reached 92% with the Very good category. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the Referee Smart Card media is feasible and effective to use as a medium for learning basketball referee signals in extracurricular activities. This media is expected to be able to improve participants’ understanding visually, practically, and interactively.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of self-confidence on the peak performance of futsal athletes in the Division 1 AFK Club of Semarang City in 2024. This research employs a quantitative method. The sample consisted of 54 male futsal athletes aged 18–20 years from the Division 1 AFK Club of Semarang City. The research instruments included a self-confidence questionnaire comprising 13 items and a peak performance questionnaire comprising 35 items. The validity test results showed a coefficient of 0.945 for the self-confidence instrument and 0.947 for the peak performance instrument. Data were collected using self-confidence and peak performance questionnaires distributed via Google Forms. Data analysis techniques included normality test, linearity test, correlation test, and simple linear regression analysis, assisted by the Statistical Program for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 25 with a significance level (p-value) of < 0.05. The results of the study revealed a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05 and a correlation coefficient of 0.604. These findings indicate that self-confidence has a significant effect on the peak performance of Division 1 futsal athletes in the AFK Club of Semarang City

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between lower limb muscle endurance and functional mobility among elderly individuals at Puskesmas II Tabanan. This observational analytic study employed a cross-sectional design and included 63 elderly individuals aged 60–69 years with normal BMI based on Asian adult standards. Participants were selected through simple random sampling. Lower limb muscle endurance was assessed using the 30-Second Chair Stand Test (30s-CST), while functional mobility was measured using the Timed Up and Go Test (TUGT). Data were analyzed using the Spearman’s Rho correlation test due to non-normal distribution. The Spearman’s correlation test showed a strong and statistically significant negative correlation between lower limb muscle endurance and functional mobility (r = -0.535, p = 0.000). Participants with higher repetition counts in the 30s-CST completed the TUGT in shorter times, indicating better mobility performance. There is a significant inverse relationship between lower limb muscle endurance and functional mobility in older adults. Routine assessment and targeted interventions focusing on muscle endurance should be integrated into geriatric healthcare programs to enhance mobility and reduce fall risk.
