Abstract

Makan Bajambau is one of the traditions which is still preserved by the people in Jawi-Jawi village and Padang Tengah village. It is a tradition in which the people eat together in one decided place by using small plates. The biggest tradition held by the Jawi-Jawi and Padang Tengah villages is in the moment of sponsoring orphans. Makan Bajambau is one of the elements in this occasion which is a must. This tradition is conducted every year and villagers participate in vibrant. Makan Bajambau is not just eating together but contains valuable togetherness and brotherhood values. Thus these writings aim to describe the social values in this tradition. The method used is ethnography and data collection uses observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show some social values in the Makan Bajambau tradition among others. The affection, togetherness, and brotherhood. Triggered by the good values of the Makan Bajambau ritual in sponsoring the orphans in Jawi-Jawi and Padang Tengah villages, the villagers preserve this tradition and pass it down to the next generation.

Abstract

Ojuh is an allure in the staging of bukoba even though it is not the main element in bukoba. It can be ascertained if the staging of bukoba is not a story that uses Ojuh, not interesting in the staging of bukoba. This research was structured with the aim of investigating and explaining ojuh in bukoba Panglima Awang story shows and explaining the symbolic meaning in Panglima Awang book bukoba story in Pasir Pangarain. This research used a descriptive qualitative method. To answer the problem formulation the researchers directly observed the staging of bukoba. To See the process of the Bukoba story Panglima Awang's performance. Direct observations with bukoba koba (speaker) is done. Researchers used interview techniques, recorded videos, and field notes in the process of collecting data. The participant in this study was Tuk Taslim a carpenter (speaker). The conclusions of the analysis of the meaning of this ojuh, which is something that is excessive, things that are delivered excessively, deliberately done, created in the context of creating trades in the book performance, through ways (techniques, skills, art) such as this is thing audience finally want to wateh this performance. Then, it turns out that ojuh in the kang Panglima Awang implies the meaning of leadership owned by Awang and Anggun Cik Suri. The beauty of Anggun Cik Suri has, the strength that Awang has.

Abstract

Explaining the development and relationship between science philosophy and Islamic philosophy is the aim of this writing. Descriptive qualitative is the method used by collecting data through library research to gain the aim. The result shows that the development of science philosophy can not be separated from the history of developed science which is the main base in the development of science in which science philosophy consists of (ontology, epistemology, and axiology) Islamic philosophy is based on Islamic notions led by revelation from Allah which are the absolute truth. Science philosophy is only the trigger since all theories and concepts have already been given in Al-Qur’an. Thus, science philosophy and Islamic philosophy can work together to create science based on absolute truth.

Abstract

This research mainly discussed the phenomenon of photo-sharing on Instagram with different aims. One of them was to show a person's identity or a particular group. This study specifically examined a beverage brand growing rapidly on Instagram named "Janji Jiwa", which is being popular among society in Indonesia. As an evidence, the brand once was awarded the fastest-growing coffee shop of the year by MURI (Indonesian Record Museum) in 2019. This research applied a theoretical approach that using the spectacle concept proposed by Guy Debord (2002). In addition, this current study aimed to provide an interpretation linked to the phenomenon of conveying self-identity within social media. Distributing the captured the "Janji Jiwa" beverage could be seen as the act of showing one's social class. Spectator saw the performer not as himself, but based on the commodities he was taking or using In this case, the spectator was consumer of the brand itself. Showing a capture of beverage, precisely "Janji Jiwa", was one's manner for presenting themselves as he built a desired reality. It celebrated a pseudo-identity represented on by social media. Showing off a commodity was meant as an effort to point out a desired image because it was able to give the impression of a prestigious social status.

Abstract

This study aims to find out: 1). Background of Bass Music in Baraka District Enrekang District, 2). Procurement of materials and process of making bass instruments, 3). Function and tone system in a bass instrument in Baraka Sub-district of Erekang District. This research uses observation method, interview, documentation, and study of organology sciences, by collecting data from various relevant sources, then the researcher describes the problem solving validly and descriptively and then draws a conclusion by yielding data: 1). The birth of bass music in District Baraka Regency Enrekang around the 1940s under the colonists of Menado and Ambon. 2). The process of making instruments using traditional tools. 3). Function and tone system on the bass instrument.
