Abstract

Social stigma increasingly embedded on gay in Indonesia that in fact its construction through the mass media both online and offline. Enforceability moral stigma that could be used in the society then caused the deal to deny the existence of gays in the social environment and social community. The power of media that sustain public opinion to the attitudes of the public in assessing the pseudo created normalisme. This article would like to explain that the “normal” and “abnormal” that is superficial, the irresponsible human constructions then perpetuated by human followers are also blind and also irresponsible.

Abstract

Indonesia boundaries have abundant potentials of natural resources, but the lack of human capital and human empowerment might caused complex problems, such as the existence of the traditional fishermen in the border areas. The fishermen are identical as the asset limitation, lack of capital, lack of bargaining position and also limited to the market access. The fishermen are mostly depending on the environment and natural condition, thus the “unfair” situations, reflected to their difficulties to all eviate poverty. The focus of the research is to observe the adaptation of the traditional fishermen in the border area, which is Sei Pancang village. The research shows that the adaptation of Sei Pancang fishermen in overcoming their difficulties of life in the border area is done by applying cultural value, utilizing available resources, and maintaining social and economic cross-country relationships in the form of patron-client relationship with the Toke of Tawau. The border area between Sei Pancang village and Tawau town is characterized by interdependent borderland of these region in fulfilling their resources. The findings also indicate that this border area have a role in the adaptation of the fishermen in the border area.

Abstract

The purpose of this study provides an overview of the behavior of PKS Lovers in social media post LHI arrested for alleged corruption in the bribery case of imported meat kuoata with PT Indoguna. The impact of these arrests makes the reputation of the PKS which was originally known as the party of ‘clean’ anti-corruption, become lost. In Social Media, PKS was subjected to insults and invective. But the invective then got a reply from PKS Lovers. PKS Lovers presence enliven bustle world of social media. Various political communication text, produced by PKS Lovers, in reaction to the case of LHI and means legislative election campaign in 2014. The method used a qualitative methodology with the method netnografi of the speech act PKS Lovers in social media. The results showed the speech act PKS Lovers shows sporadic activity, it is not managed properly, and reactive. If there is an attack, they attack, but gave the impression of fanaticism and became the target of haters.

Abstract

Although some research related to the influence of therapeutic communication to patients has been carried out in Indonesia, research trying to explore the experience of the elderly nurse communication has never been done. Though the geriatric is a practitioner who has interacted daily with elderly patients thus have therapeutic communication experience that deserves to be explored. By using phenomenology, the study describe the experience of five geriatric nurse in conducting therapeutic communication activities for elderly patients in Sasana Tresna Werdha Jakarta. Data was collected through interviews. The informants of this research are interviewed about 45-90 minutes. In the interview the informant’s provide their personal experience that contribute to the success of their therapeutic communication. Based on this study, we found ten important themes in therapeutic communicate with elderly patients, namely: the planned communication, to find out, observation, appreciation and humor, taboo communication, respect, caring, clarity, empathy and build rapport. The ten themes above we made to three (3) things that become the main learning and the essence in this study. 3 (three) it was planned, caring, and empathy are the answer to the research question.

Abstract

The boundary conflict of Indonesia and Malaysia always related with the differences in perceptions, understanding and responses. Therefore, by using the concept of communicate conflict from Krauss and Morella, this study analyzes the new media and social media-based online discussion forums to find the border issue which often becomes discourse. By using nethnography, texts discourse that causes differences in perception, understanding, and construction is analyzed and then compared with the findings of the actual state of border areas with ethnographic methods. Combined nethnographic and ethnographic methods in collecting, processing, analyzing and discussing the data potential conflict border areas of Indonesia and Malaysia are expected to find and decipher the Indonesia-Malaysia conflict truth. This research shows that online discussion forum users do not understand the context of boundary, while the local community shows that the harmonization of interaction and communication. Conflict in the online community forum is an extension Indonesia-Malaysia bilateral conflict has actually been completed.
