Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the cause of bruises on the body of the mother goldfish (Carassius auratus). Fish were obtained from the Research Installation of Freshwater Aquaculture, Marine and Fisheries Polytechnic Sorong. The initial diagnosis of fish is weak, decreased appetite, and has bruises in almost all parts of the body. Fish were isolated and identified at the Sorong Fish Quarantine and Quality Control Station. Examination starts from the head, gills, body and tail. The results of identification using a microscope obtained the types of ectoparasites in the form of, Dactylogyrussp, Ergasilus sp. Gyrodactylus sp. Lernea cyprinacea, Lernea sp and Trichodina sp.

Abstract

The Banjir Kanal Barat River is one of the major rivers in the Semarang City and there are various activites along the river by the citizen which will give an impact to lead to pollution on water quality. Macrozoobenthos can be used as bioindicator because of it’s low of mobility, easy to catch and identify. The purpose of this study was to determine the community structure of macrozoobenthos, the saprobic index value and to determine  the pollution status of The Banjir Kanal Barat River.This  research was conducted in June-July 2020 using a purposive sampling technique with a total of three stations. The 1st Station is dredged waters in 2019, the 2nd Station is polluted waters due to chicken farm waste, and the 3rd Stations is polluted waters due to domestic waste.The identification of macrozoobenthos use FAO book (1998) and Conchology.be website.The Calculation of community structure of macrozoobenthos consist of diversity, uniformity, and dominance index.The data analysis in this research are data analysis of community structure of macrozoobenthos and saprobic index. The result showed that the Diversity Index (H’) ranged from 0,98 to 1,17 while the Uniformity Index (e) was between 0,56-0,71 and the Dominance Index (C) ranged from 0,43 to 0,45. There were 8 types of macrozoobenthos, consisting of 1 type from the polysaprobic group, 2 types from the β-mesosaprobic group and 5 types from the non-saprobik group. Based on the calculation of the saprobic index value obtained  -0,11 and the Tropic Saprobic Index was -1,07. The pollution status of the Banjir Kanal Barat River is indicated moderate to severe pollution.

Abstract

Raman River is located in Purwoasri Village, North Metro District, Metro City. People use this river for various purposes, namely irrigation for rice fields , fisheries, transportation, tourism, and other uses. The increasing use of rivers by the community might caused a negative impact to the waters quality and affect the organisms living there, such as macrozobenthos. The purpose of this study was to analyze the pollution status of the Raman River waters based on the macrozoobenthos community structure. Sampling was done from April to Mei 2020. The research location was determined using a survey method and the sampling was carried out by purposive sampling. The data obtained were analyzed using Abudance-Biomass Comparison (ABC) method. The analysis showed that Raman River is moderately contaminated.Keywords: macrozoobenthos, Raman River, pollution stastus

Abstract

This research was conducted from May to June 2020, located at Sari Ringgung Beach, Pesawaran District, Lampung Province. This study aims to assess the ecological conditions of Enhalus acoroides seagrass and to analyze the relationship between Enhalus acoroides ecosystem and water quality. Determination of observation points using purposive sampling method. Data on seagrass conditions and measurement of water quality parameters were carried out using a quadratic transect measuring 50 cm x 50 cm. The relationship between seagrass density and coverage with water quality parameters was tested using principal component analysis (PCA). The results showed that the type of seagrass vegetation at Sari Ringgung beach was single with the type of seagrass Enhalus acoroides. The highest average density value of Enhalus acoroides was at station 3 with a range of 76 individuals / m2 and the lowest density was at station 1 with a range of 36 individuals / m2. Meanwhile, the highest average value of Enhalus acoroides cover was at station 3 with a range of 48.48% / m2 and the lowest was at station 1 with 25.0% / m2. Seagrass density and cover have a positive correlation with phosphate, temperature, depth, brightness, and current and negatively correlated with parameters TDS, TSS, salinity, dissolved oxygen (DO), pH and nitrate.

Abstract

Pesticides has been widely used in pest eradiction in agriculture sector. The types of pesticides are used to kill grass (herbicides), fungi and bacteria (fungicides), and insects (insecticides). In general, those pesticides are contain toxic compounds, such as dichlorodiphenyl trichlorethane (DDT), dieldrin, and polychlorobiphenyls (PCB) which are lipophilic, persistent, and difficult to degrade. In general, fresh waters such as rivers are more at risk of pollution due to pesticide residues that enter through runoff. The pesticides residues of the nearby rivers can easily affect the water quality, sediment as well as causing toxic effects on non-target organisms through the food chain. The method in this paper refers to several research results that have been carried out, by providing an overview of pesticide residue pollution in rivers. The results showed that pesticide residues mostly contaminated rivers in China, with DDT and hexachloro cyclohexane (HCH) being the most commonly found and studied species. Several rivers in China have concentrations of DDT and HCH beyond the highest concentration levels in both water, sediments and aquatic organisms.Keywords : Pesticide, Pollution, River

Abstract

Abstract This research aims to identify and analyze analyzing development strategies the fisheries catch at the Berok River Fishermen's Center, Central Bangka Regency. Data Primary in the form of questionnaires as many as 30 respondents by using method determination of the number of respondents saturated sample (sensus). Data analysis using descriptive methods by grouping fishing equipment into classification according to the Regulation of the Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Republic of Indonesia Number 6 of 2010 concerning to Fishing Equipment. The results show that fishermen is the main livelihood in Berok River. There are 6 classifications and 4 types of main fishing equipment in the Berok River Fishermen's Center; millennium nets, stretch fishing rods, rawai fishing rods, pull trawls, boat charts, and plug charts. GPS, lights, solar panels as fishing aids. Ship material is banned from wood with the volume of the ship are <1 GT to 6 GT. The completeness of SIUP (Fishery Business Licence) and SIPI (Fishing Licence) of fishermen is 72%. Fishermen's recommendations on facilities and infrastructure include PPI (The base of Fish Landing), docks, fishing equipment procurement, and talud. The Strategy of Developing Fishermen's Center in Berok River is very feasible for PPI.Keywords Fishing Catch, Fishermen's Center, Berok River

Abstract

Desmopuntius gemellus is a native species of peat swamp waters in Southeast Asia. This fish is economically important value for the local community, for example as consumption fish and as bait to catch carnivorous fish. Until now there has been no management effort to protect the sustainability of the fish. Ecobiology studies are needed as initial information in managing this fish. Samples were collected from primary and secondary canal stations at the palm oil plantation in Penawartama District, Tulang Bawang Regency during October 2019 to January 2020. A total of 1,088 fish samples were collected by using lift net, with the most distribution in the secondary canal. Main component analysis shows that secondary canal stations are more characterized by temperature parameters. And the primary canal is characterized by depth, brightness, current, and dissolved oxygen.

Abstract

The study was conducted between February and June 2020. The pesence of local institution, which is responsible for marine and fisheries resource management known as “Kawasan Kelola Laut (KKL*)”, was the main reason why the study was carried out in Saponda Island. The objective of the study was to assess communtity preception on the presence of KKL*. Cluster random sampling method was selected by involving 94 respondents as representative of the perception. Principal component analysis (PCA) was selected, through which the relation between each respondent charateristic and level of perception was indentified. Result showed that respondent perception had positively correlated to meeting frequency (r = 0.67). the higher frequency of participant attended either formal or non-formal meeting, the better community perception would be formed. It was estimated thar respondent received more information and socializaton on the essential of KKL* during the meeting.Keywords: Perception, Kawasan Kelola Laut, Saponda Island
