Abstract

The objectives of this research were to collect fish species in Ranau Lake of West Lampung District, analyze the fish community structure, determine the types of fish that are protected, prohibited, or invasive and mapping its distribution. Sampling was done on three locations: Station 1 (Suka Banjar), Station 2 (Kagungan), and Station 3 (Lombok). The data were analyzed by the structure of the community: diversity (H'), uniformity (E) and dominance index (C). The result of the identification indicate that there are 26 species of fish and total number of fish is 184. The results of the analysis of fish community structure in Ranau Lake have medium diversity, medium distribution and moderate community stability (H’=1.43), medium uniformity and volatile communities (E = 0.41),  low dominance and no dominant fish species (C = 0.32). From the 26 fish species in Ranau Lake, there are no protected and prohibited fish species, there are two types of fish categories as invasive alien species: nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) and suckermouth catfish (Hypostomus plecostomus).

Abstract

Ocean Fishing Port Bungus Complex is an integrated area in ocean fishing port that bordered by the sea (Mentawai Strait), traversed by a small river and surrounding by paddy fields. There are several facilities in PPS Bungus Complex such as fishing port, waters surveillance, research, fishery processing industry, settlement and others. Various activities that exist certainly have an impact to the existing waters. The purpose of this research is to know the status of water quality based on water classification. The result of analysis based on Government Regulation No.82 Year 2001 which conducted on water classifiction at estuary and outlet shows that the condition of waters is including to the Class IV for agriculture and industry, while around wharf, waters including to the Class III, for fishery. The water index classifiction based on Living Environment Minister Decree No.115 Year 2003 shows that estuary, outlets and wharf are not polluted. Result of analysis to waters for Class IV showed index 0,780 at estuary and 0,712 at outlet, while at wharf showed index 0,794 or Class III. Some parameters such as turbidity, BOD and Cd in estuary and outlet slightly exceeded the quality standard but are still within tolerable limits (Living Environment Minister Decree No.51 Year 2004). Based on the Living Environment Minister Regulation No.3 Year 2010 on quality standard of waste water in industrial area, in this case the outlet, shows that parameter of COD, pH, TSS, Selenium and Copper are appropriate to quality standard.

Abstract

Abstract

Carp is a freshwater fish, body shape is long and somewhat rounded with a small head, the high back and across large scaly body. The development of aquaculture carp (Cyprinus carpio) is progressing very rapidly with cultivation system are manifold. Pisciculture technology will not form without yielding seeds followed by genetic improvement effort. To improve the quality of the parent, the parent needs to be purified race carp (Cyprinus carpio) that exist so that the resulting pure strain. The success of seed carp, especially at this stage of the enlargement is determined by the quality of the seed. Breeding programs developed at this time is the method gynogenesis. Ginogenesis method is the process of female gamete without interference from male gamete gene. The experimental design used in this study is completely randomized design (CRD) is equipped with 3 treatments and 3 replications. Analysis using analysis of variance, with the distribution table F or F test that compares the value of F arithmetic with F table. Based on the analysis of research data on the influence of the length of time a different heat shock against the hatchability of eggs carp (Cyprinus carpio) method gynogenesis meiosis, based on the results of research, treatment A showed optimal results with an average 17.33, treatment B showed 12. 33 and C treatment showed 7.00. Based on calculations obtained ANOVA calculated F value (47.29)> F 1% (18.00) but larger than F 5% (6.49) then H1 is rejected at the level of a = 1% and H0 highly significant conclusions (hight significant).
