Jurnal Ilmu Ilmu Agribisnis: Journal of Agribusiness Science is published by the Department of Agribusiness, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lampung, in collaboration with PERHEPI, the Indonesian Agricultural Economist Association. The first printed Journal was published in 2013 and the online version started in May 2018 edition. The scopes include agribusiness, agricultural economics, agricultural development, rural sociology, agricultural extension, food security, and other subjects related to agriculture and society. Abstract

The aim of this research is to compare the income and sustainability of organic and inorganic rice farming.  The study was conducted in Pringsewu District purposively by considering the area as one of the organic rice producers in Lampung Province. This study uses a survey method. Respondents in this research were 35 organic rice farmers and 35 inorganic rice farmers. The data analysis used is farm income analysis and sustainability index. Data analysis were carried out descriptively and differentially using the Independent SampleT-Test Parametric Test and the Mann-Whitney Nonparametric Sample Test.  The results showed that the income of organic and inorganic rice farming was profitable but there was no significant difference in income. Organic rice farming is a sustainable criterion, while inorganic rice farming includes criteria that are quite sustainable, and there was significant difference in sustainability between the two.Key word: farming, income, inorganic, organic, sustainability

Abstract

This study aims to analyze food security level, the factors affecting food security, and the efforts to increase food security of farmer household of granary member. The location of this study is chosen purposively as consideration that the group of granaries received the granary development program in Gading Rejo Subdistrict, Pringsewu Regency with 44 farmers of granary members who are selected by proportional random sampling method. Data were collected in April 2018. Food security level is analyzed using cross classification between food expenditure and food sufficiency level, factors affecting the level of food security is analyzed using ordinal logistic regression, and the efforts to increase the level of food security is analyzed using descriptive qualitative analysis. The study shows that food security according to BPS category as much as 22.,73% is in secure category, 15.91% less secure, 34.09% vulnerable, and 27.27% insecure. Food security according to nutrition science and the 2012 Constitution of Food as much as 45.45% is in secure category, 27,27% less secure, 15.91% vulnerable, and 11.36% insecure. Factors that influence the level of food security are rice production, price of rice, and side occupation. Efforts to increase food security are programs on increasing income through irrigation and crop indexes, improving nutrition through education on nutrition and food by the government, accelerating food diversification, and development of food barns.  Farmer’s effort to overcome food shortages is by changing habit in the quality of food consumed.Key words: food security, granary member

Abstract

The purposes of this research are to determine the decision making process, purchasing patterns, and dominant factors in purchasing ground spices in Kota Bandar Lampung. This research was conducted in Pasir Gintung market, Tugu market, and Cimeng market. There were 90 housewife respondents drawn using accidental sampling method. Ground spices, as the object of this research, consisted of “sayur santan”, “rendang” and “ungkep” spices. Data were analyzed descriptively and using Principal Component Analysis (PCA) factor analysis. The results showed that housewives decided to buy ground spices by the process of needs introduction, information searching, alternative evaluation, purchase decision, and post-purchase evaluation. The pattern of ground spices purchases by housewives was that the amount of spice purchased in the past week was IDR2,000.00- IDR5,500.00, the most type purchased was “rendang” with the frequency of 1-2 times a week. The dominant factors on purchasing decisions was formed by three main factors based on the value of the loading factors. The first, influence factor, consisted of variables colour, taste, influence of other people, confidence of making seasoning by their own, and confidence in taste of ground spices. The second, perception factor, consisted of variables perception of the price compared to the amount of ground spices obtained, perception of the price compared to that of packaged ground seasoning, and aroma of ground spices. The third, display of ground spices business, consisted of variables cleanliness of the product, the place, and friendliness of traders.Key words: factor, ground spices, purchase

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the raw material procurement system based on the elements of raw materials, the performance of production, and added value of the products.  The research method used in this research was a case study method on ‘Tahu Ibu Lis’ tofu agroindustry in Gadingrejo Urban Village, Gadingrejo Sub-district, Pringsewu Regency.  The location of research was determined purposively with the consideration that Tahu Ibu Lis agroindustry was one of agroindustries on the center of tofu production and the biggest production of tofu in Gadingrejo.  Tahu Ibu Lis agroindustry had many products, they were tahu pong, tahu kepal, tahu putih, tahu kuning, oncom, and keripik tahu.  Research was conducted in Mei – June 2019 and data analysis method used was qualitative and quantitative descriptive analysis and analysis of added value.  The study shows that the agroindustry has fulfilled the six components of raw materials procurement, i.e. time, place, price, type, quality, and quantity.  The production performance of the agroindustry had not been good because it had not fulfilled the capacity and flexibility components but the rests are good.  Tahu Ibu Lis agroindustry was viable because it had positive added value.Key words: added value, performance of production, tofu

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the raw material procurement system based on six components, the performance and the added value of the palm sago agro-industry in Natar subdistrict of South Lampung Regency. The research was a case study in which location was chosen purposively in four Sago Aren Agroindustries by considerating that there were only four agro-industries that were still actively producing sugar palm sago in that area. The reseach data collection was conducted in March - April 2018 and analyzed by qualitative and quantitative descriptive and added value analysis. The results showed that the six components of raw material procurement namely time, place, quality, organization, quantity, and price in Sago Aren of Adi Putra, Oblak, and Surahmat Agroindustries were appropriate because they have been in line with expectations. There was still a component of material procurement standards that have not been matched or did not in line with the expectation in Kartim Agroindustry namely quantity. Production performance in the Sago Aren Agroindustries could be classified as good, because four of the five indicators in production performance namely productivity, capacity, quality, and speed of delivery were appropriate, while indicators of flexibility in the four sago palm agroindustry was not optimal, and the four sago palm agroindustry was feasible because it provided positive added value. Key words: sagu aren, performance, value added

Abstract

This study aims to figure out the flow patterns and stakeholders of, supply chain performance of, and marketing efficiency of tempe agroindustry. Data collection was conducted in Gunung Sulah Subdistrict, Way Halim District, Bandar Lampung City from December 2018 to January 2019. This study uses a casestudy method. Determination of agroindustry sample uses purposive sampling technique and for supply chain sample uses snowball sampling technique. The data analysis method used for flow patterns and stakeholders are the supply chain system method, for the analysis of supply chain performance is SupplyChain Operation Reference (SCOR) 9.0 and for marketing efficiency analysis is the calculation of margin value, and the value of producer's share. The results of this study showed that supply chain of tempe agroindustry consisted of soybean importer, soybean agent, yeast and plastic wholesaler, soybean, yeast and plastic retailers, sub-agent of gas, producer of firewood, tempe’s agroindustries, tempe retailers, and street vendors. There is an inefficiency in cost management of Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) metric for tempe products of tempe’s agroindustry and asset management of Cash to Cash Cycle Time (CTCCT) metric for soybean, yeast, and fuel supply of tempe’s agroindustry. The most efficient marketing of tempe’s agroindustry is direct marketing to consumers with margin value of zero and producer’s share value of 100%.Key words: margin, marketing, producer’s share, supply chain, SCOR

Abstract

This research aims to analyze comparative advantage, competitive advantage, the impact of government policies on input output of certified coffee farming, and analyze the sensitivity of changes in input and outputprices to the comparative advantage and competitive advantage of coffee farming in Sumberejo Subdistrict Tanggamus District. The samples of 25 farmers were taken simply randomly from 133 coffee farmers who applied 4C coffee certification. Data were analyzed using PAM (Policy Analysis Matrix). The results showed that 4C certification coffee farming in Sumberejo Subdistrict of Tanggamus District had a competitive advantage with value of Private Cost Ratio of 0.53 and comparative advantage with of Domestic Cost Ratio of 0.38. Comparative advantage was sensitive to 20.31 percent decline in production volume and 40 percent decline in farm output price. Increase in input price due to revocation of subsidies reduced competitive and comparative advantages. Competitive and comparative advantages were not sensitive to an increase in input price.Key words: certified, coffee, comparative, competitive, PAM

Abstract

This research aims to calculate the income and welfare of rice farmers who processsmoked fish and who do not process. The research was carried out in Kebon Damar Village from July to August 2019 using a survey method. The determination of the sample was done in stage (multistage sampling). The sample in this research amounted to 57 rice farmers. The data were analyzed using income analysis, R-C ratio, and household welfare according to the 1997 Sajogyo’s criteria. The results showed that the largest contribution of household income of nonsmoked fish processing ricefarmers came from rice farming or 71.45 percent of the total household income. Whereas, the largest contribution of household income of smoked fish processing rice farmers came from the smoked fish processing business or 54.43 percent of the total household income. Smoked fish processing rice farmers weremore prosperous than nonsmoked fish processing rice farmers.Keywords: Household income, household welfare, rice farmers, smoked fish.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the consumer characteristics, consumer attitudes, and consumer satisfaction of branded and unbranded tempeh in Bandar Lampung. The research is conducted at Pasir Gintung Market. The research samples are 78 people chosen by nonprobability sampling. The data is analyzed by descriptive qualitative, The Multi-attribute Fishbein Models, Customer Satisfaction Index and Importance Performance Analysis. The results showed that the branded and unbranded tempeh consumers were mostly housewives aged 36-50 years old with family income ranging from Rp3,500,000.00-5,000,000.00/month. More than 50 percent consumers were Javanese living in distance of 0-3 km from the market and bought tempeh in the morning. The results showed that consumer gave the highest attitude scored to the cleanliness attribute of branded tempeh and the taste attribute of unbranded tempeh. The level of consumer satisfaction of branded tempeh and unbranded tempeh were 79.39 percent and 80.47 percent included to the satisfied categories. The performance of product attributes of branded tempeh has beed in accordance with the wishes of consumers. Whereas, the attributes of product cleanliness and product purity of the unbranded tempeh was needed to be improved.Key words: attitude, consumers, satisfaction, tempeh
