Inequality development causes delays for Praya development. MP3EI, changed conditions of Urban Praya through the construction of Lombok International Airport (BIL) that is represented as Regional Activity Center. The development began to grow including the settlements sector. The purpose of this study is to assess the effect of the presence of BIL on the development of settlements in Praya urban with quantitative descriptive method; through the identification residential development from the aspects existence of BIL, pattern and shape of its range, physical and non-physical variables that affect and changes pattern and Structures space. The results showed, the development of urban settlements do not occurs due to the direct presence of BIL but influenced by the roads and utility networks. Praya urban image map in 2006 and 2012 showing the development of settlement that is shaped "Radial Continuous" and other territories form Praya urban scattered "Linear" following the road and utility grid, whereas the other territories near BIL does not show a significant development. According to the Patterns of change and Structure Space, the land price changes. The suburban area of Praya that is experiencing the development of road, the land prices have increased despite relatively less productive land.

Abstract

Upstream Gajahwong Sub-Watershed included in Yogyakarta Urban Agglomeration Region and regional development of tourism that utilizes the beauty of the slopes of Mount Merapi also the support accessibility (Solo-Magelang-Semarang road; this condition is assumed to be the cause of landuse changes, followed by vegetation land shrinkage. The shrinkage’s result is water catchment areas reduction that disrupts the Sub-Watershed hydrology function. One of indication is the increasing flood discharge that can be seen from the changes in surface runoff and peak flow rate. This research aims to assess the impact of landuse change on surface runoff and peak flow rate in Gajahwong Sub-Watershed using a quantitative method that consists of spatial and mathematic analysis with SCS and Rational Method. The results showed that the landuse changes impact on increasing surface runoff and peak flow rate. The surface runoff in year 2002 amounted to 3.073 mm with a peak flow rate of 98.02 m³/sec then increased to 3.901 mm with a peak flow rate of 101.65 m³/sec in year 2011. The landuse changes that occur tend to built landuse which was followed by vegetation shrinkage and impact on the increase in surface runoff and peak flow rate. Predictions in year 2031 also showed an increase in surface runoff and peak flow rate, if there is a tendency of landuse changes linearly as landuse changes in year 2002 – 2011. Alternative analytical efforts to handle surface runoff and peak flow rate showed that by combining the development of Green Open Space with water conservation technology (Biopori and Infiltration Wells) can reduce surface runoff and peak flow rate.

Abstract

The transportation’s problem that common in Indonesia is a limitation of road space and intersection that needed to conduct the traffic flow. An accident and degradation of intersection’s performance, it’s caused by the driver’s attitude which have a less concern to the traffic law. This research attempt to observe the driver violation which influences the characteristic of urban’s intersection to find out the phenomenon of traffic’s signal intersection. The strategy to design the intersection in East Bekasi highway for reducing driver violation by using the side friction factor that consists of extending the radius of junction sleeves, constructing lay bay in bus stop, demolition the street vendor, ojek base and public transportation. Also, the geometric intersection factor consists of installation signs, marka reparation, constructing the pedestrian facility, and specific stopping area for motorcycle, then the traffic’s characteristic factor consists of an intensive supervising by policeman, constructing the priority track to turn left on red and installation signs.

Abstract

The spatial pattern of Semarang illustrate how the pattern that separates the production zone  with consumption zone. Consumption zone is where we live, while the production zone is where we work, shop, school prayer, and recreation. The condition causes the townspeople have to commute (nglajo) every day from the residence to the production zone. Patterns of community life of the city brought in a mechanical rhythm of having to use a motor vehicle. Be they as a community-based automobile (Hadi, 2001: 100-101). The existence of these problems lead to the birth of the Self-reliant  New Town BSB Semarang. Bukit Semarang Baru (BSB) as an Self-reliant  New Town is an integrated spatial planning, where the provision of shelter is equipped with facilities meeting the needs which are within the scope of one area or also called mixed use zoning. To examine changes in activity and mobility of people in urban space integrated pattern which in this case is the Self-reliant New Town BSB then used a socio-ecological systems approach. Socio-ecological systems see the extent of the interaction between different systems. The link between humans and the environment is realized through a variety of physiological processes, psychological and cultural (Lawrence, 2003). The method used in this study is a mix methods with quantitative and qualitative approaches. A quantitative approach is used to analyze the activity and mobility patterns, and a qualitative approach to explain the socio-ecological system of the community. Results from this study that of the five regular activity performed, shopping activities and religious activities have high interaction, because most people have been doing the activity in the region, while for other activities such as the activity of work, school and activity in leisure time is still done in BSB outside the region. The use of public transport modes BSB still choose a long private vehicle.
