Abstract

Universitas Muhammadiyah Magelang (UMMgl) has a vision of "Superior in Science, Islamic in Behavior" which is responsible for providing students with the skills to be independent after graduating from college. To prepare it, UMMgl emphasises to all students to be independent and superior entrepreneurs, to get it is not easy. The processes of the curriculum, internships, and entrepreneurial incubators also need to be prepared carefully and structured. Being an entrepreneur is not easy, requiring the right mentor and guidance to succeed in growing the entrepreneurial spirit, which is essentially the independence of the souls of UMMgl students. The method proposed in this proposal through several stages of intensive mentoring, including 1) Classroom training with entrepreneurial speakers and practitioners in the form of lectures, discussions, case studies, discovery of exploration, simulation, and testimonials; 2) apprenticeship in the partner industry to improve managerial, financial, technical, and entrepreneurial skills; 3) comparative study to get an explanation directly in the industrial premises of the owner; 4) guidance pattern, 5) supervision pattern; 6) the pattern of providing financial assistance to tenants. The results of this Program are formed by five selected tenants and are considered capable of being entrepreneurs ready to compete in the community.

Abstract

Childhood is a special phase concerning both in the process of physical growth and soul. Children are not only the responsibility of the parents but the state for the fulfillment of rights. Thus, the fulfillment of children's rights becomes an interesting issue. To give a meaning of natural condition in place of research, this research used a qualitative approach with phenomenology research type.  This research concern on nonformal education for children. Child-friendly village as an effort to realize the city worthy of children is one of the solutions in fulfilling the rights of the children. As a result, the transformation of values from the fulfillment of children's rights increasingly improved through a child-friendly village. The transformation of values includes transformation from adults to children, from groups to individuals, and from individuals to individuals involved in activities. Transformed values include discipline, courage, confidence, mutual respect, and cooperation.

Abstract

Livelihoods of Polengan Village are 83% as sand miners. Village potential with abundant water has not been used optimally by the community, especially young people due to lack of knowledge about a good fish farming. Some families have used this abundant water by making a fish pond in the yard of the house but this pool is just for fun or hobbies and has not been commercialized. Looking at the phenomena,  it is necessary to empower youth to utilize the potential of this village to form a productive business unit focusing on fish cultivation by applying HERBAMINA technology (cultivation of medicinal plants and fish) in which it will improve the economy of the community and produce medicinal plants that can be used by the community. This service activity includes training in good fish farming methods, training in making herbamina and training in the utilization of herbal products. Approach method through face to face, mentoring and mentoring. The results of these community activities have increased the motivation of youth to utilize the potential of water sources for economic improvement, increased youth’s knowledge and skills on how to fish well and increased knowledge of the use of herbal plants. The resulting community service programs are ponds with herbamina technology (fish cultivation and medicinal plants).

Abstract

AbstractThe aim of this community service are to provide the participant as the commitee member of Aisyiyah the knowledge of basic journalism in order they could write a good news to be published on their official media. Based on the observation and  request from the Aisyiyah Organization, they have a problem when writing the article/news because the lack understanding on basics journalism and news writing technique.  The method used in this training were lecturing session, discussion and direct assistance on writing the news. There were 30 representatives of the Aisyiyah Commitee from branch and regional office invited to this activity. The result of the training shows a significant improvement fromt he participant that can be seen on the pre-test and post-test result. There is a quite significant increase of 12% which is shows that the training material and method can be easily be understood well by the participant. At the end of the training, the participant are able to write a proper news and article to be published on their official website.Keywords: news writing, online media, writing technique, journalism, community services

Abstract

This paper compares the three largest marketplaces in Indonesia as a marketing platform for temanggung coffee products. The three marketplaces are tokopedia, bukalapak, and shopee. PPPUD Team of Universitas Muhammadiyah Magelang accompanied two partners, namely Palatiga Coffee SMEs and Garuda Coffee SMEs in product marketing through the marketplace. Tokopedia is one of the marketplaces that have a high user rating and has the complete features of the two other marketplaces. Also, Tokopedia also supports Indonesian coffee by providing a special page of Hot List Kopi Indonesia. PPPUD team of Universitas Muhammadiyah Magelang is currently developing marketing through Tokopedia and does not rule out the possibility to expand the market by opening a shop in Bukalapak and Shopee

Abstract

Jumantono Subdistrict, Karanganyar Regency is an area that has been developed as a center for livestock and agriculture in Karanganyar Regency. The most dominant agricultural and plantation products from Jumantono sub-district are cassava and durian. The Regional Partnership Program (PKW) activities in Jumantono sub-district are focused on two fields, namely First, agriculture and animal husbandry, handling the environment due to animal odor and feces, through the application of clean livestock by utilizing biogas installations which can also be used for cheap household energy sources, and production of organic fertilizers that can be utilized in agricultural and plantation activities. Second, for fields based on economic aspects, it is directed to elevate the potential of local Jumantono plants, namely cassava and durian. Potential of cassava will be developed starting from the aspect of cultivation with the selection of good cassava seeds and the development of grafting cassava which can provide an average yield of 30-70 kg / tree. This paper reports on the PKW activities in Jumantono that were carried out in March d November 2018, specifically about skills in production and development of business based on cassava processing and other products by SMEs in Jumantono. Partners of PKK groups in Ngunut and Kebak villages, after being taught how to cultivate and maintain cassava, were then trained on the manufacture of various processed cassava. The mentoring process carried out on partners starts from the way of making Mocaf flour, various processed cassava and about the packaging design of cassava processed products. The expected output of this PKW activity is the realization of more productive agriculture or cassava cultivation and diversification of various cassava-based processed products. Improvements in the appearance of labels and packaging, as well as the development of marketing products from Ngunut and Kebak villages have also been carried out in this PKW activity.
