Jurnal Ilmiah Ilmu Ushuluddin (p-ISSN: 1412-5188 / e-ISSN: 2549-3752) is open access and peer-reviewed journal of Islamic Studies published by the Ushuluddin Faculty of UIN Antasari Banjarmasin. The journal is published twice a year (June and December) in both print and online versions and provides a forum for publishing the original research articles and review articles related to issues in the area of Islamic Studies such as Qur’an and Hadits Studies, Religious Studies, Islamic Philosophy, and Islamic Spirituality (Sufism) from scholars of related disciplines.

Bidâah is the classic issue but stil actual to be discussed. It is caused by the classification of bidâah term into two kinds still presents the polemic till this era. The different opinion about this concept is unsolved yet. Adherent of bidâah hasanah and repellent of it have argument each other. Principle of their argument may comes from hadis perpective, sahabah perspective (attitude of sahabah), language perspective, and also ushul fiqh perspective. This perspective (ushul fiqh) is the most difficult instrument to understand the substance of hadis, especially the hadis which talk about bidâah. But there is the chapter of ushul fiqh which talk about the purpose of syariah, it called by maqashid syariah. From this perspective we can try to explain the concept of bidâah hasanah. There are two most popular theory of maqashid syariah from two figures of different period. Al-syathibi and Ibnu âAsyur, talk in detail of maqashid syariah. From their theory, the concept of bidâah hasanah can result the different view. Al-Syathibiâs theory refuses explicitly the concept of bidâah hasanah. Whereas in the Ibnu âAsyurâs theory of maqashid, this concept still has chances to be justified. This article will try to research this concept from these two perspectives.

Cases of racism have occurred in the early days of the emergence of Islam, which later became the political legitimacy in which in the leadership space in the Arabian Peninsula the tribe of Quraish is a tribe that dominates. This is reinforced by the argument of hadith which became the basis of that legitimacy. Nonetheless, in fact, there are many other propositions that seem quite contrary to the proposition, such as the Qurâan and other hadith. Therefore, the hadith about political racism which in this case about the domination of tribal leadership of Quraish becomes important to be reinterpreted by using hermeneutic point of view and contextualization of hadith. With this view, the election of a leader is not based on a particular tribe, although assessing of the leadership qualities of the future leader as well as his responsibility in carrying out the mandate of the leader. In the context of Indonesian, the dominance of a tribe in political space is controlled by the political interest of various circles, such as political elites and radical groups. The view that political domination held by a particular group is only used as a âscapegoatâ to overthrow the political opponents.

This study attempts to examine the origin of theology. In every religion, it is the most substantial element, because it is the intellectual discourse around the divinity and belief of that religion. We know the terms such as Christian Theology, Jewish Theology, Islamic Theology, Hindu Theology and so on. From here, howeover, it raises the question of what theology is intrinsically? Etymologically the term theology is in fact derived from the Greek whose people are the worshipers of the gods and do not recognize the conception of divinity as other religions do. How can it exist in these religions? From this historical-philosophical search it is found that theology in its generic meaning is defined as the discourse of the exalted supranatural being. It is born naturally in every society from time to time. It can take a variety of forms according to the religious tradition of its people, but in essence it is the discourse on the One who organizes and manages the universe.

This study highlights the tendency of Ê¿Ilm al-KalÄm or sometimes called "Islamic scholastic theology" which is one of the less developed Islamic studies. The author proposes that developing this study requires criticism and a new, more contextual approach. One of the most urgent in Kalams study is to include contemporary contextual themes such as social, humanity, culture and technology. Therefore, the study orientation of Kalam on the issue of divinity (theocentric) must be transformed into the issue of humanity (anthropocentric). For this reason, Kalams study must be interdisciplinary with the social sciences and other modern humanities.

á¹¢aḥÄbaḧ is the first generation who believe to the Prophet Muḥammad [p.b.u.h] and accepted the teachings of IslÄm (the ḥadÄ«ts of the Prophet) directly from Him. They are very obedient to the Prophet so that they may not dare to betray and lie intentionally in the narration of ḥadÄ«ts. They are âadil generally. Muslims believe that whole companions have âadÄlaḧ quality, which is famous by a dictum: kullu á¹£aḥÄbaḧ âudÅ«l. Furthermore, this belief has come as something approved theologically. This concept becomes stronger when the hadith criticism, traditional scholars are more oriented sanad which has implications for the placement of narrators personality in a position that can not be ignored. This is clearly different from Juynboll, he is one of the Orientalists who came from Netherland who developed the theory of common linkThe conclusion of this research that Juynboll denies the method of hadith criticism. He claims that this theory occurred in the evolutive schema, and is the creation of muḥaddits. On the other hand, the author views that the denial of Juynboll for collective taâdÄ«l is one of the instruments to strengthen the theory of common link.

The method which is used by theologian in hadi> th codification has a trend that changes from time to time. After third century of hijriyah, some theologians arrange hadi>thâs book using the method that has already taught to them before, but others have a different method. One of the methods which is dissimilar from others is hadi>th codification method or it is called Muâjam. Muâjam is a hadi> th codification typology that is based on the friend of the Prophetâs Musnad or the writerâs teacher that is arranged based on the alphabet. In some sample, it has seemed that Muâjamâs book also shows some friends of the Prophetâs biography before showing the history of them. Muâjamâs book is classified into two groups. They are Muâjam al-Shuyu>kh (based on teacherâs names) and Muâjam al-S{ah}a>bah (based on friends of the Prophetâs names). Commonly, there is some quality of hadi>th s in Muâjamâs books. There are s}ah}i>h}, h}asan, d}aâi>f even mawd}u>â (false). One of the benefits in Maâajimâs book is as the main reference of Prophetâs Musnad hadi>th. It means continued until the Prophet himself and containing lots of hadi>th that is not found in al-Kutu>b al-Sittah. Moreover, Muâjamâs book is one of the main references to know the biography of S{ah}abat (friendâs Prophet), nasab (offspring), and their virtue.

Quoting BNPTâs statement, there are at least 19 Islamic boarding school in Indonesia indicated to support the activities of radicalism and terrorism. Initially, the statement was based on several analytical factors, namely, the historical linkages of the post-conflict pesantren establishment, as well as the association of the founding figures with some organizations that allegedly taught the radical flow. Starting from this statement, it is urgent to do research on one of the radically categorized pesantren, namely Pesantren Darul Wahyain Magetan. The reason for the selection of this pesantren according to information that the authors get from various sources, there are no signs or real evidence on the ground indicating that the Pesantren is based radically. The existence of Pondok Pesantren Darul Wahyain in Magetan does not meet the criteria to be called a radical pesantren, as formulated by the experts, namely textual, unilateral truth claims, a priori with western, anti-secular and extreme. In relation to the curriculum it can be explained that in general, the curriculum applied in Pesantren Darul Wahyain is not all that directs his santri into radicalist or terrorist.Â
