Abstract

Tongkol komo (Euthynnus affinis) merupakan salah satu komoditas ekonomis tinggi perikanan tuna neritik, terutama bagi armada tuna skala kecil. Seiring dengan meningkatnya intensitas penangkapan pada satu dekade terakhir, diperlukan kajian kuantitatif terkait keberlangsungan stok. Akan tetapi, minimnya data yang tersedia pada perikanan jenis ini merupakan tantangan terbesar dalam melakukan usaha pengelolaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menduga parameter populasi dan rasio potensi pemijahan (SPR) berbasis ukuran panjang, sebagai titik acuan biologis kondisi stok dalam menghadapi tekanan penangkapan. Total 1.321 data ukuran panjang dikumpulkan secara acak setiap bulan selama Januari hingga Desember 2016 di Tanjung Luar. Parameter populasi meliputi pertumbuhan, kematian, rekrutmen, dan laju pemanfaatan diestimasi dengan metode ELEFAN. Analisis SPR juga dilakukan dengan melibatkan parameter reproduksi yang disintesis dari penelitian sebelumnya dengan paket LB-SPR. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa formula pertumbuhan von Bertalanffy diekspresikan dengan persamaan Lt = 85,0 (1-e-0,7 (t+0,173)). Meskipun rata-rata sampel tongkol komo diprediksi telah matang gonad/memijah (SL50>L50), namun sumberdaya tongkol komo mengalami tekanan yang tergolong tinggi dan mengganggu rekrutmen individu baru ke dalam stok yang diindikasikan dengan parameter lainnya seperti rasio mortalitas penangkapan relatif (F/M) = 2,15, laju eksploitasi (E) = 0,68, dan SPR = 23%. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan penyusunan pengelolaan yang efektif untuk kelestarian perikanan. Eastern little tuna or commercially known as kawakawa is listed as one of the most economically important species of neritic tuna, especially caught by small-scale tuna fisheries. Increasing fishing pressure in the last decade should be responded by a quantitative analysis on its stock. The problem arises when this typical fishery usually possesses limited time-series data. This study intended to estimate population parameters and spawning potential ratio (SPR) as a biological reference point to state the healthiness of fishery corresponding to the fishing pressure around coastal areas. A total of 1,321 length measurement data were  randomly sampled monthly from January to December 2016 in Tanjung Luar. Population parameters including growth, mortality, recruitment, and exploitation rate were estimated by applying the ELEFAN method. SPR analysis was also carried out by involving reproduction parameters synthesized from previous studies using the LBSPR package. The results showed that the von Bertalanffy growth functions were expressed by the equation Lt = 85.0 (1-e-0.7(t + 0.173)). Although the majority of kawakawa was predicted in maturity as indicated by SL50>L50, high exploitation has occurred to the fishery that can be interfered the recruitment to the stock, as confirmed by other parameters, such as relative fishing mortality (F/M) = 2.15, exploitation rate (E) = 0.68, and SPR = 23%. Hence, the establishment of appropriate management strategies is needed to aim fishery sustainability.

Abstract

Ekosistem terumbu karang di Kawasan Pesisir Kendari sangat dipengaruhi oleh aktivitas pembangunan di daratan utama seperti sedimentasi yang berkepanjangan. Hal ini dapat berpengaruh pada tutupan karang dan kecerahan air laut, dan sebagai konsekuensinya adalah terjadinya perubahan struktur komunitas ikan karang. Keanekaragaman ikan karang diasumsikan akan menurun ketika terjadi kerusakan yang meluas pada terumbu karang dan dalam waktu yang panjang. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengidentifikasi kondisi sumberdaya ikan karang melalui kajian struktur komunitas ikan karang. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan September 2018 di perairan karang pesisir Kendari, Sulawesi Tenggara. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini adalah sensus visual bawah air dengan transek sabuk pada 10 lokasi penelitian. Hasil penelitian menemukan 195 spesies ikan karang yang terdiri dari 93 spesies kelompok mayor, 89 jenis kelompok ikan target, dan 13 jenis kelompok ikan indikator. Dari 10 lokasi transek, hanya 4 stasiun yang memiliki nilai indeks keanekaragaman antara 3,0 – 3,6, indeks dominansi antara 0,04 – 0,10 dan indeks keseragaman antara 0,8 – 0,9, serta 5 stasiun memiliki indeks kekayaan jenis antara 7,8 hingga 10,5. Keanekaragaman jenis ikan termasuk rendah, komunitas didominasi oleh kelompok ikan mayor, dan kepadatan stok ikan karang tergolong rendah pada semua stasiun. Coral reef ecosystems in Kendari coastal area were affected by mainland development as well as long-term sedimentation.Those activities influencing coral coverage and sea water tranparency lead to the changes in reef fish structure communities. The study objective is to identify the condition of reef-fishes by analyzing theirin terms of a community structures. This study was carried out in September 2018 at the adjacent Kendari’s reef waters, Southeast Sulawesi. The method used in this study was the underwater visual cencus using belt transects at ten study sites. The results of the study successfully identified about 195 species of reef fishes, consisted of 93 species of major-fish group, 89 species of target-fish group, and 13 species of indicator-fish group. Species compositions among the study sites ranged from 39 species to 74 species. Among the 10 transect sites, four sites had fish diversity indices ranging from 3.0 to 3.6, dominance indices ranging from 0.04 – 0.1, and evenness indices ranging from 0.8 to 0.9, whereas 5 transect sites had species richness levels ranging from 7.8 to 10.5. For all study sites, the reef fishes diversities were in low levels, reef fishes communities were dominated by major-fish groups, and the density of fish stocks were classified in low levels.

Abstract

Perairan karang Taman Nasional Komodo merupakan wilayah penangkapan ikan dan daerah tujuan wisata laut. Kondisi tutupan karang pada umumnya sudah di bawah 50%, namun dampak yang akan muncul terhadap ikan karang belum diteliti dan hal ini dibutuhkan bagi pengelolaan kawasan tersebut. Tujuan penelitian adalah mendapatkan karakteristik struktur komunitas ikan karang, meliputi komposisi, sebaran, kepadatan stok, dan biomassa ikan. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan Juni 2019 dengan mengunakan metode sensus bawah air pada transek garis permanen untuk masing-masing stasiun penelitian. Sensus visual mendapatkan 128 spesies ikan target dari 21 suku dan 30 spesies ikan indikator dari suku Chaetodontidae. Rata-rata kepadatan stok ikan target dan ikan indikator adalah masing-masing 182 ± 67 individu/350m2 dan 35 ± 15 individu/350m2. Ukuran panjang ikan terbanyak antara 15 cm – 30 cm. Biomassa ikan target sebesar 1.174 ± 617 kg/hektar. Ikan karang target dan ikan indikator yang memiliki sebaran luas masing-masing 13 spesies dan 2 spesies . Komposisi kehadiran jenis ikan target di lokasi penelitian hanya 3% yang berdistribusi sangat tinggi, 7% berdistribusi tinggi, 18% berdistribusi sedang, 21% berdistribusi rendah dan 51% berdistribusi sangat rendah. Sementara jenis-jenis ikan indikator yang intensitas distribusinya sangat tinggi dan tinggi hanya 7%, dan lainnya tergolong sedang (23%), rendah (40%) sampai sangat rendah (23%). Kondisi sebaran spesies diduga menyebabkan keanekaragaman ikan karang pada keseluruhan lokasi penelitian terhitung tinggi, tetapi rendah untuk masing-masing lokasi penelitian. Semua lokasi di dalam kawasan taman nasional maupun diluar taman diperlukan pemantauan dengan porsi yang sama dan dilakukan secara berkala.Coral Reef Waters of Komodo National Park are fishing grounds and marine tourism destinations. The last condition of coral cover percentages of the regions have sustained below of 50%, however, their future potential impacts on fishes have not been studied and these will be needed in other to manage the regions. The study aimed to update reef fishes data in terms of some features of a community reef fish structure including composition, distribution, density, and biomass. A study was carried out in June, 2019 by using an underwater census visual at a permanent transect belt in the respective study sites. A total of 128 target fish species were recorded belonging to 21 families and 30 indicator fish species of Cahetodontidae were succesfully identified. The density mean of target and indicator fishes are 182 ± 67 individual/350m2 and 35 ± 15 individual/350m2, respectively. Most of fish sizes ranged from 15 cm to 30 cm. The biomass mean of target fishes are 1,174 ± 617 kg/hectare. Only for 13 species of target fishes that have high distribution in overall the study sites and 2 species of indicator fishes, as well. Composition present of target reef fishes in the distribution area given were in levels of 3% very high, 7% high, 18% fair, 21% low,and 51% veri low. Meanwhile, those for indicator fishes were in levels of 7% very high and high, 23% fair, 40% low, and 23% veri low. There was mayor significant diversity of reef fishes for overall study sites, however those was minor for respective study sites.The whole locations weather in-side or out-side of Komodo National Park need the equal portion for priodical monitoring.

Abstract

Sumberdaya ikan pelagis kecil hasil tangkapan pukat cincin di perairan Samudera Hindia Barat Sumatera memberikan kontribusi penting terhadap produksi perikanan di wilayah tersebut setelah ikan pelagis besar. Supaya pemanfaatannya berkelanjutan maka diperlukan upaya pengelolaan sumber daya ikan berdasarkan kajian perikanan dan biologinya. Data bulanan selama Maret sampai Desember 2018 dikumpulkan dari TPI Lampulo (Banda Aceh) dan Sibolga (Sumatera Utara), bertujuan untuk memperoleh informasi dan menganalisis tentang dimensi alat tangkap, daerah penangkapan ikan, komposisi hasil tangkapan, frekuensi ukuran ikan dan upaya penangkapan (hasil per unit upaya, CPUE). Selanjutnya data biologi ikan dianalisis dengan metode analitik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perubahan dimensi pukat cincin yang digunakan. Jenis ikan layang (Decapterus macarellus) merupakan hasil tangkapan dominan yang didaratkan di PPS Lampulo (Banda Aceh) dan PPN Sibolga (Sumatera Utara), masing-masing sebesar 82,2% dan 51 % dari total produksi ikan tahun 2018 di daerah tersebut. Jenis lainnya meliputi: lemuru (Sardinella lemuru), selar kuning (Selaroides leptolepis), sunglir (Elagatis bipinnulata), kembung (Rastrelliger kanagurta), tembang (Sardinella fimbriata) dan selar bentong (Selar crumenophthalmus) dengan proporsi berkisar antara 4,8 – 28 %. Daerah penangkapan ikan semakin jauh dari biasanya. Panjang pertama kali tertangkap (length at first capture, Lc) ikan layang sebesar 24 cmFL, selar bentong 17 cmFL dan tembang 16 cmFL. Hasil per unit upaya (CPUE) pukat cincin di TPI Lampulo dan Sibolga masing-masing sebesar 263 kg/hari dan 316 kg/hari. Small pelagic fish resources caught by purse seiners in the Indian Ocean west off Sumatera contribute an important fish production in those areas after large pelagic fish. Management of fish resources based on fishery and biological informations need to be done to optimize its utilization. Monthly data collected during March to December 2018 were obtained at landing places of Lampulo (Banda Aceh) and Sibolga (North Sumatera). The aims of this research were to determine of dimention of fishing gear, fishing grounds, catch composition, size frequencies of fish and catch per unit of effort (CPUE). The data of characteristic biology were analyzed using an analytical model. The results showed that dimention in length and depth of purse seine has changed. Round scad (Decapterus macarellus) as dominant fish landed at Lampulo and Sibolga landing places with 82.2% and 51 % of total production, respectively. The rest, with proportions ranged between 4.8 to 28.0% included sardine (Sardinella lemuru), yellow stripe trevally (Selaroides leptolepis), Rainbow runner (Elagatis bipinnulata), Indian mackerel (Rastrelliger kanagurta), Fringescale sardinella (Sardinella fimbriata), Bigeye scad (Selar crumenopthalmus). At present, fishing grounds are getting further from the coast. Length at first capture (Lc) of D. macarellus was 24 cmFL, S. fimbriata was 17 cmFL, and S. crumenophthalmus was 16cmFL. The catch per unit of effort by purse seiners in Lampulo and Sibolga were 263 kg/day and 316 kg/day, respectivelly.

Abstract

Achantaster planci atau Crown-of-thorns starfish merupakan hewan pemangsa karang yang secara langsung dapat menyebabkan degradasi pada ekosistem terumbu karang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kelimpahan dari A. planci dan kondisi karang di Pulau Saparua. Jumlah lokasi pengamatan sebanyak lima stasiun. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada November 2018 di Pulau Saparua, Kabupaten Maluku Tengah, Provinsi Maluku. Pengamatan tutupan karang hidup dan kelimpahan Achantaster planci dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode Line Intercept Transect (LIT), pengamatan Acanthaster planci menggunakan metode sabuk (Belt Transect) yang mengikuti garis LIT dengan panjang 70 meter dan lebar 2 meter sehingga luasan area pengamatan sebesar 140 m2. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kondisi tutupan karang hidup tergolong kedalam kriteria sedang hingga sangat baik (26,5%-89,54%) dan terdapat sepuluh bentuk pertumbuhan yang ditemukan pada lokasi ini. Indeks mortalitas karang tertinggi pada Stasiun (Stn) 2, daerah dimana tidak ditemukan A. planci. Keberadaan A. planci hanya ditemukan pada Stn 1, Stn 4 dan Stn 5, dengan kelimpahan A. planci tertinggi ditemukan pada Stn 1 sebanyak 0,036 ind/m2. Bentuk pertumbuhan karang Acropora mendominasi hampir pada seluruh stasiun dan A. planci ditemukan pada stasiun yang memiliki tutupan karang hidup yang didominasi oleh bentuk pertumbuhan Acropora branching dan coral branching. Korelasi baik tutupan karang dan kelimpahan A. planci maupun karang mati dan A. planci tergolong cukup dan tidak signifikan. Achantaster planci or Crown-of-thorns starfish are coral predators that can directly cause degradation of coral reef ecosystems. This study aims to determine the abundance of A. planci, live coral cover on Saparua Island. The number of observation stations was five locations. This research was conducted in November 2018 on Saparua Island, Central Maluku Regency, Maluku Province. Observations of live coral cover and Achantaster planci abundance were carried out using the Line Intercept Transect (LIT) method, Acanthaster planci observations using the Belt Transect method which followed the LIT with a length of 70 meters and a width of 2 meters so that the area of   the observation area was 140 m2. The results showed the condition of live coral cover was classified as moderate to very good criteria (26.5% -89.54%) and there were ten of coral lifeforms found at this location. The highest coral mortality index was determined in St 2 areas where A. planci was not found. The presence of A. planci was only found in St 1, St 4 and St 5, where the highest abundance of A. planci was found in St 1 by 0.036 ind / m2. Acropora coral growth forms dominate almost all stations and A. planci is found in stations that have live coral cover dominated by Acropora branching and coral branching growth forms. Correlation of both coral cover and abundance of A. planci and dead coral and A. planci is classified as sufficient and not significant.
