Abstract

Teachers are professional teachers capable of acting as the architect of the transformation of the nation through science and technology, build character of children to moral and personality, improve skills and psychomotor skills and instill emotional stability and noble. Teachers are expected to take part in the midst of situations that are modern (inovative and creative), unique (different and new), and advanced (smelling science and technology telecommunication and practical). In the era of globalization, the teacher must be able to create ideas, solve problems (solution), building the image and determine management options through the process of learning, education and development of students.

Abstract

Thematic learning is a kind of learning activity. This model of learning combines several learning materials in one theme. The purpose of thematic learning is to give meaningful experience to students. Webbed thematic learning is a learning approach that has a certain theme. After developing one general theme into specific themes, the themes could be related to other field studies. It is believed that those themes could improve students' learning activity. Left-brain, closely related to IQ, is a rational brain. This brain has several characteristics. Those characteristics arelogical, • arithmetic, verbal, segmental, focus, linear, differential, and time¬dependable.Another brain, called right brain, is emotional brain that closely related toEQ. It also has several characteristics, such asintuitive, spatial, visual, holistic, diffuse, parallel (lateral), similar, and non time-dependable. Fact showsthat left-brain is used more frequently in school through lecture and course book.It brings the benefit for the students, which only have arithmetic and verbal ability in the left-brain. In other words, the students do not use all brain potencies. In fact, the students that have different ways of thinking could have different ways of learning. It is recommended that one school should have a learning method, which could accommodate the students two brains' work. It is possible for thematic learning to combine one theme in several learning activities. Those activities would help the students, the teachers, and the parents to know which part of brain the students use regularly. Further, the teachers and the parents are hoped to direct an effective education for their students. Effective education means the education, which is appropriate with the students' talent and interest. The purpose of this process is to describe the two brains' work in the webbed thematic learning of elementary students.

Abstract

In the teaching and learning activity process of Competence Based Curriculum (KBK) in Kindergarten, students demanded to have the story telling ability using the good and right language, pupils expected capable in comprehending the pronunciation, vocabulary and the use of sentence structure in telling story, but the results of student teacher test remained to find some students who have not been able to tell story using series pictures. In regard with the phenomenon, the writer was attracted to make a research on the story telling ability based on the series pictures of the students of the Bunda Kindergarten of Surabaya. As explained in background, the object to be the study in this research was proven as a problem should be researched. For that reason, the writer proposed a problem as follows: What is the story telling ability based on the series pictures of the students of the Bunda Kindergarten of Surabaya. Data analysis method used the descriptive quantitative analysis, population in this research was the entire of group 'B of the Bunda Kindergarten in academic years 2010/2011; the data collection method used the interview, observation, and test methods. Thus, of the results of analysis above it could e concluded that, the story telling sentence structure that suitable with the picture order of the Bunda Kindergarten children was good. Because out of 25 children it was only 7 children had not been able to tell story, due to the children cognitive had not been perfected. Based on the results of this research, thus for the developmental building and the improvement of language teaching quality, in particular the serial picture story telling ability needed attention. It was in order that the pupils capable to accomplish the story telling task properly.

Abstract

Snow adalah sebuah novel yang terjadi di tengah kota Kars dan mengisahkan tentang konflik antara Islam, dunia Barat, kekayaan, larangan terhadap pemakaian Jilbab di Turki. Novel ini juga membahas tentang seni, budaya, keberadaan tradisi kehidupan sehari — hari dan pengalaman manusia tentang kepedihan dan keindahan. Tulisan ini bertujuan mengungkapkan dekonstruksi sebagai sebuah pendekatan studi literature didalam novel 'Snow' oleh Orhan Phamuk. Dekonstruksi adalah sebuah pendekatan yang diperkenalkan oleh seorang ahli filosofi dari Perancis yaitu Jacques Derrida, dimana secara teliti memperhatikan arti text pada pokok ungkapan yang berlawanan dan penemuan perlawanan secara internal menunjukkan bahwa semua dasar — dasar adalah komplek, tidak stabil dan tidak mungkin. Jadi didalam dekonstruksi, Derrida mengatakan bahwa melakukan dekonstruksi artinya adalah bahwa membalikkan hirarki atas keberadaan system perlawanan.

Abstract

Humor merupakan suatu perilaku berbahasa and berfungsi sebagai alat penting untuk mencapai tujuan tertentu. Meskipun humor juga merupakan fenomena manusia yang bersifat universal, humor berkaitan erat dengan suatu budaya tertentu dan memiliki nilai-nilai pembelajaran. Teks humor merupakan salah satu materi pengajaran membaca bahasa Inggris sebagai bahasa asing (EFL) di Indonesia. Paper ini membahas bagaimana mempresentasikan dan menganalisis teks humor yang diambil dari majalah Reader's Digest' yang meliputi: (1) struktur dan perangkat linguistik wacana humor, (2) kandungan pragmatik dan kultural wacana humor, dan (2) cars mempresentasikan teks humor di dalam kelas.

Abstract

In a normal, healthy adult, the heart was working well and which are not diseased blood vessels, has a systolic pressure 120 and diastolic pressure 80. Blood pressure is usually written 120/80. If the blood pressure is above 140/90 mm Hg up then the person is a patient of hypertension. And vice versa if the blood pressure is below 120/80 mm Hg then the person is a blood pressure hypotension. Otherwise normal blood pressure is 120 / 80-140 / 90 mm Hg. With age will be more prone to the risk of various diseases in which the limitation of motion, the density of the activities may prevent us from doing exercise. Exercise bikes are relaxed is aerobic exercise, due to the relaxing bike to lose weight, maintain a healthy heart and lungs, improving overall endurance, improve blood circulation and keep the cells - muscle cells. Based on the definition above, in this study there was no effect centered leisurely bicycle exercise on blood pressure. This study aimed to find out is there any influence blood pressure before and after relaxing bike. The problem in this study can be formulated as follows: Are there influences blood pressure before and after relaxing bike. This research method uses the study population, with a leisurely bike exercise independent variables and the dependent variable blood pressure. The population in this study are members of the association resident ancient nobility village bicycle taken purposively Kloposepuluh aged 40-60 years with a sample of 20. Blood pressure data collected by using a blood pressure test spygnomanometer. By t-test analysis results obtained t-count systole -1.515 oft- Table 8.907 at significance level 0.975, dk 19, from these results it can be concluded that: There is no effect on systolic cycling exercise but no effect on diastolic blood pressure. So in other words there is no difference in systolic blood pressure but diastolic is no difference before and after cycling exercise.

Abstract

Pesantren (Islamic Boarding School) is a traditional institution for Muslims, founded among 13th-15th century, which teaches the importance of religious morality to guide everyday behavior. In its development, the schools not only teach religious sciences, but also general science. Instead of educational and social institution, Pesantren is as well as religious broadcasters institutions. The students' community actually is an Islamic society which consists of groups of students bound together by tradition and systems, custom and law "ecology" unique and rarely found its similarity to other communities outside of schools. The traditional Pesantren is a form of cultural acculturation outcomes of Indonesian with Islam. The tradition of local school is a religious phenomenon that has the function of connecting between Islamic values with the culture of Indonesia, and eventually formed the National Islamic nation state. As the concept of nationalism, this paradigm can be used for the purposes of normative constitutional foster as a sense of nationalism. With the acculturation culture model, Indonesia will be free from formalism primordial of Islam and local customs.

Abstract

A shirt is regarded to have fine quality when the sewing technique is carried out appropriately with elegant size and shape of its collars. The present study aimed at improving the students' skills in making the quality shirt collars by using the fragment media. There were sixteen students of Dress-Making Department, taking a dressing technology course, who participated as the subjects of the study. A classroom action research with a descriptive qualitative approach was implemented in the study. The result of cycle I revealed that the students had not got accustomed to the new technique as there was no real sample for it. The result of cycle II showed that the results of the questionnaire and the assessment indicated that the use of the fragment media was effective. They showed that no one of the subjects stated that the fragment media was not of their favor. Finally, it is suggested that the fragment media in direct instruction be used to enhance the teaching and learning quality.

Abstract

Kurang Energi Protein (KEP) merupakan salah satu penyakit gangguan gizi yang prevalensinya masih tinggi dan banyak diderita oleh balita. Salah satu penanganannya dengan Pemberian Makanan Tambahan (PMT) modisco larutan. Namun dilapangan ditemukan kendala bahwa modisco sulit diterima karena rasanya "nek", oleh karena itu perlu diperlukan adanya modifikasi modisco dalam bentuk kudapan agar dapat diterima. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui daya terima (Tingkat kesukaan) makanan tambahan cookies fortifikasi ikan bandeng modifikasi modisco pada balita KEP. Selain itu juga untuk menghitung nilai gizi energi dan protein. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimental semu dengan rancangan percobaan 4 formulasi perlakuaan cookies fortifikasi ikan bandeng Sampel penelitian adalah 4 perlakuan formulasi biskuit dinilai oleh 30 panelis dan panelis semu. Uji Statistik yang digunakan untuk mengetahui perbedaan daya terima (tingkat kesukakaan) berdasarkan karekteristik warna,aroma,tekstur dan rasa adalah Uji Friedman K-Releated. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa makanan tambahan modifikasi modisco dapat diterima (disukai) balita KEP,terutama jenis biscuit subsitusi ikan bandeng perlakuan T2 dan kandungan gizi protein terbaik adalah perlakuan T3 . Oleh karena itu disarankan menggunakan makanan tambahan modifikasi modisco untuk mengatasi kesulitan pemberian makanan tambahan modifikasi modisco di lapangan. Untuk memperkaya keragaman modifikasi dapat menambah modisco pada jenis kudapan yang ada di daerah setempat yang disukai balita baik jenis kudapan tradisional maupun modern, dan bagi pengelola PMT yang tidak mempunyai waktu banyak (sibuk) dapat meinilih makanan tambahan modifikasi modisco jenis biscuit.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kualitas menjahit bagi mahasiswa baru jurusan PKK Tata Busana Universitas PGRI Adi Buana Surabaya. Praktek menjahit adalah salah satu alat yang dapat meningkatkan kualitas menjahit bagi mahasiswa baru yang belum menjahit dengan baik. Penelitian ini mengunakan pendekatan kualitatif karena tidak menggunakan perhitungan angka-angka atau termasuk jenis non statistik. Setelah dilihat hasil jahitan sebelum diberikan praktek langsung mahasiswa yang belum bisa menjahit dan setelah diberikan praktek langsung menjahit hasilnya seperti apa pada mahasiswa. Hasil dari model pembelajaran langsung dengan metode praktek untuk meningkatkan kualitas menjahit mahasiswa baru jurusan PKK Tata Busana Universitas PGRI Adi Buana Surabaya ternyata menunjukkan kualitas menjahitnya lebih baik ini berdasarkan hasil-hasil jahitan dari mahasiswa sebelum diberikan pelatihan langsung untuk menjahit. Saran untuk Universitas PGRI Adi Buana Surabaya khususnya jurusan PKK Tata Busana, memberikan dukungan dalam praktek langsung latihan menjahit untuk memperlancar pembelajaran dan membantu jurusan PKK Tata Busana khususnya untuk mendapatkan lebih banyak minat calon mahasiswa untuk masuk jurusan PKK Tata Busana Khususnya
