Abstract

As an aglutinating language, Indonesian is rich of morphological markers, such as afixes and prepositions. However, from the X-bar perspective, the syntactic behaviour of these markers in forming prepositional phrases has not been clearly depicted. This paper aims to describe the internal structure of prepositional phrase (PP) in Indonesian.  This study used written data taken from various sources. The result of the analysis shows that PP is composed of a complement (Comp), a modifier (Mod), and a specifier (Spec). The rules of forming PP cover : (1) PP = P’, Spec;  P’ = P’, Comp, (2) PP = P’, Spec; P’ = P’, Mod.; P’ = P, Comp, (3) FP = P’, Spec; FP = P’, Spec; P’ = P, Mod.; Y= P, Comp. Abstract

Keahlian apa yang lebih bermanfaat dalam memahami karya sastra? Apakah membaca cermat, kritik budaya, atau stilistika? Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk menyaring pendapat yang mendukung masing-masing keahlian tersebut di atas. Selain itu, akan diuraikan upla pendapat saya sendiri bahwa dengan semakin luasnya bidang kajian sasr=tra, yang saat ini sudah memasukkan bidang-bidang ilmu lain, ada baiknya memfokuskan pada membaca cermat dan stilistika. Tulisan ini dibatasi pada pertarungan antar bidang kajian dalam lingkup pengajaran sastra reinaisans.

Abstract

Setiap tuturan yang terujar dalam peristiwa tutur akan mengekspresikan nilai-nilai budaya yang tertanam dan melekat dalam tatanan hidup masyarakatnya. Apa yang yang diujarkan sebenarnya itulah yang dipikirkan dan  apa yang dipikirkan itulah dunianya. Kelonggaran penempatan leksikal krama pada tuturan Jawa di wilayah pesisir merupakan ciri kedinamisan kehidupan masyarakat pesisir, sekaligus sebagai cermin atas dunianya. Abstract

Women stereotype reflected in Indonesian language shows male superiority power upon female in society that belong to patriarchy ideology. In this kind of society female is always in a position of subordination which are determined by among others, history, culture, and social factors. Social factors that influence the stereotype of female in Indonesian are sex, education, and employment. In this case, education significantly leaves the other  two behind. The more education reason are the more aware of gender sensitive. Abstract

Komunitas Melayu di Stabat adalah komunitas yang hidup berdampingan dengan berbagai komunitas lainnya. Kondisi ini menyebabkan beragamnya penggunaan bahasa dalam satu kawasan. Pada komunitas yang beragam akan terjadi peristiwa alih kode dan campur kode. Melalui metode pengamatan berpartisipasi terhadap penutur remaja diperoleh data kualitatif yang dapat menggambarkan ekspresi lingual penutur remaja dalam peristiwa alih kode dan campur kode. Alih kode yang terjadi dalam peristiwa komunikasi komunitas remaja adalah alih kode antarkalimat dan alih kode intrakalimat. Pada peristiwa campur kode muncul bentuk-bentuk campuran antara bahasa Melayu Langkat (BML) dan bahasa Indonesia (BI). Bentuk-bentuk yang bercampur itu cenderung disebabkan oleh kemiripan struktur fonologis dan morfologisnya. Bentuk-bentuk lingual yang tampak dalam interaksi komunikasi verbal remaja dengan berbagai interlokutor menunjukkan adanya bentuk-bentuk bahasa campuran, baik dalam-ranah keluarga, tetangga, maupun kekariban.
