Abstract

Komunikasi massa adalah bentuk komunikasi yang menggunakan media massa yang meliputi siaran televisi, surat kabar, siaran radio dan inedia onlineyang dapat menjangkau masyarakat secara luas dalam tempo yang tidak terlalu lama. Media massa memiliki empat fungsi utama yaitu sebagai sumber informasi (to inform) sebagai sarana pendidikan (to educate) sarana hiburan (to intertain) dan mempengaruhi (to influence). Dengan adanya fungsi-fungsi tersebut maka segala persoalan masyarakat dan penyelesaiannya akan muncul dalam ruang publik sehingga segenap lapisan masyarakat dapat ikut berperan serta dalam mengatasi persoalan bersama dalam kehidupan bermasyarakat. Selain sebagi sumber informasi, komunikasi melalui media massa juga berfungsi sebagai sumber pendidikan, dapat menghibur dan sebagai alat kontrol kehidupan masyarakat. Berita-berita menonjol yang dimuat di media massa  akhir-akhir ini adalah adanya  ancaman phisik dan non phisik yang dapat mengganggu kehidupan bangsa dan Negara Republik Indonesia, yang merdeka, berdasarkan Pancasila dan Undang-Undang Dasar 1945.

Abstract

PT. Indosat Tbk is one of the major companies engaged in telecommunications services in Indonesia, PT. IndosatTbk is continues to innovate and strive to meet each community’s telecommunications needs. With this, PT. IndosatTbk sees opportunities in the community, especially at companies that require fast communications for coordinationamong the people in it with make phone packs a pretty beneficial community and low cost that is Close UserGroup (CUG) package. However, a product must be socialized so that people will know this new product, then PT.Indosat Tbk made special event as one of they strategies to disseminate these product.The purpose of this research is 1). To analyze Marketing Public Relations Strategy in implementation the specialevent of CUG package program and analyze the implementation of that special event. 2). To analyze the constraintsfaced when implementing special event of CUG package program. 3). To attempt to find a solution andresolution of any obstacles or barriers that exist in special event of CUG package program ongoing or conducted.In this research the authors use the concept of Four Step Public Relations Strategic Planning by Cultip, Centerand Broom that describes the steps in making strategic planning in public relations, in addition the authors alsouse persuasive communication theory that explain how effective communication by way persuading to influenceattitudes, opinions, and behaviors and also Trilogy of strategy marketing public relations. This research usesdescriptive qualitative methodology where data collection is done with observation and indepth interviews withsources, and then study of literature.

Abstract

Communication science Faculty  of University of Prof.  DR. Moestopo (  Beragama )  Jakarta Always commit itself to supper the government to  FulfHI one  of  the  Indonesia  Republic goal  on to mate  Indonesia people smarter which is written on vision and mission at the communication   science    of    University   of    Prof.    Dr.   Moestopo (Beragama) Jakarta That is to increase the Tri  Dharma  activity, those are to evaluate,  to  maintain  and  to supply ideas  on developing  the Communication  Science through  teaching, researching, and devotion to the society to create strong and Independent passed graduate. Furthermore,  after  Communication science  Faculty  of  University  of Prof Dr. Moestopo (  Beragama ) Jakarta got A grade according to the decision of national college Accreditation  Institution number 012/BAN- PT/AK-VII/S1Nll/2003   on  July  2003  Hence  the  quality  of  passed graduate got serious attention from the head (dean) of Communication Science faculty  and also from the  University. On the other hand the quality of the passed graduate,  experience shows that the percentageof the amount of passed graduate in has degradation.
