Abstract

Birds are wild animals that are easy to find in almost every vegetated environment. Its habitat can cover various types of ecosystems, ranging from natural ecosystems to artificial ecosystems, one of which is Situ Cihuni. This research was conducted as an initial step that can be used as a guide for conservation efforts and to determine the balance of aquatic ecosystems. The method used is the field survey method, where the data collected includes the types of birds that are in the transect line and the number of individuals of each bird species found. The results showed that 24 species of birds could be found in Situ Cihuni, with a total encounter of 354 individuals. A diversity index (H') value of 2.23 was obtained, which indicated that the diversity level of bird species in Situ Cihuni was in the moderate category. Then the value of the wealth index (R) is 3.92; the bird with the highest IVI value was the Lonchura punctulata (110.793). Insectivorous bird groups dominate the Situ Cihuni area with a percentage of 46%. The vegetation strata in Situ Cihuni that are most used by birds are strata C and E.

Abstract

Wawatjan Babad Sumedang is one of the ancient texts telling about the struggle of Prabu Geusan Ulun in defending and taking responsibility for Sumedang from the Cirebon attack as a result of the love between him and Harisbaya, the empress of Cirebon. In one part of this chronicle, the Hanjuang was planted by a character named Embah Djaja Perkosa. It is the background for the study of the manuscript from an ethnobotanical perspective. This study uses qualitative methods with data collection techniques through interviews, observation, and literature studies. Interviews were conducted in a semi-structured and snowball-sampling manner with community leaders. Furthermore, observation was carried out by visiting the Hanjuang Kutamaya complex in Padasuka Village, North Sumedang District, Sumedang Regency, West Java. While the literature study was performed on related references, especially the Wawatjan Babad Sumedang Manuscript. Hanjuang is mentioned in the text in verses 148, 149, 171, and 172. Hanjuang itself is a siloka of "hayu urang berjuang" or "let's fight" . In the written text, the word ngalakai is a sign that the Hanjuang needs an appropriate environment to live in. This suitable environment is filled with the flourishing of Kutamaya thanks to the existence of the river there. In addition, the process of planting Hanjuang in the events in the script is done by stem cuttings. However, the Hanjuang side as an indicator has not been resolved in this study, so further research is needed on this matter

Abstract

Indonesia is a country that has a fairly high level of biodiversity in fauna, one of which is insects. Grasshoppers are included in the insect order Orthoptera with a total of 20,000 species. One of the problems in research on grasshoppers and their relatives in the order Orthoptera is the low level of knowledge about population, diversity, and the relationship between grasshopper presence and environmental parameters. Sampling of the locust population was carried out during the day using the capture-recapture method using insect nets. The research location is with samples taken at 4 points with a distance between one point and another about 10 meters. At each point, 1 plot is made with a size of 5 x 5 m. The number of individual locust species found in the Jakabaring Main Market Intersection Park area is worth 88 and the species diversity index of grasshoppers found in the Jakabaring Main Market Intersection Park area shows a value of 1.31 in the medium category. Based on the research that has been done, it can be concluded that there were 4 species found grasshoppers from the Orthoptera order in the Jakabaring Main Market Simpang Park area, namely Valanga nigricornis, Acrida cinerea, Omocestus viridulus and Oxya serville.

Abstract

One of the basic types of carbohydrate sources that are usually used as ingredients for making tape is breadfruit. Breadfruit is a multipurpose plant that has economic value because it produces fruit with high nutritional content. Therefore, one of the preparations suitable for breadfruit is the manufacture of tape, the processing of breadfruit tape is hoped by researchers to improve the quality of breadfruit so that attractive fermented food products are created. To increase consumer acceptance by providing more attractive dyes. Natural dyes are used in the manufacture of tape as an alternative to improve the quality of tape. One of the plants that can be used as natural dyes is red dragon fruit which contains the pigment betacyanin which gives a purplish-red color. The steps for making tape from breadfruit (Artrocapus altilis) with the addition of red dragon fruit (Hylocereus polyrhizus) as a natural dye follow the stages of Velayati (2021) which have been modified into seven stages. The duration of fermentation actually affects the color, taste, aroma, texture and pH level. This is because the longer the fermentation time will affect the alcohol content present. In addition, it is necessary to pay attention to packaging so that air cannot enter and interfere with the fermentation process. Because the cause of the breadfruit tape results taste bland because the enzymes in the yeast Saccharomyces cereviceae do not break if there is air that interferes with the enzyme breaking process. Tape that is ready for consumption must pass an organoleptic test to determine the panelist's preference level. From the results of organoleptic tests on 10 untrained panelists, it was found that breadfruit tape with the addition of dragon fruit as a natural dye in terms of aroma, texture, taste and color was acceptable to the public.
