This study aims to explain the efectiveness of mathematical problem type of PISA using cultural context of North Sumatera to describe reasoning dan komunication mathematic ability.This type of research is development research type development study. The development model used is a model Plomp. The questions fill efective criteria that is obtained through the response of teacher and student. The teacher and student like and feeling interested in the question, the questions can be used to measure the student ability in mathematic reasoning and communication, the students are feeling motivated to answer the questions. The result research got from mean of result reasoning ability mathematic of student from school,high (26.00),middle (25.85), and low (14.04). The result of mean test from mathematic communication ability of student from school, high (26.15), middle (22.80), and low (24.35). Finding of the research shows that the higher the level of the questions, the lower score that student get.

This type of research is a classroom action research. The purpose of the research is 1) To know how the communication ability of students before applied mathematics jigsaw type cooperative learning. 2) Describe the students' mathematical communication skills after implementing jigsaw type cooperative learning. 3) To know whether there is improvement of students' mathematical communication ability after doing jigsaw type cooperative learning. The study was conducted in two cycles with the subjects of all students of class VII-2 MTs Negeri Binjai which amounted to 40 students. To obtain data in this research used post test, observation sheet of student mathematics communication, interview and documentation. After the data collected and analyzed it is obtained: 1) The result of the initial ability of students' mathematics communication through the post test obtained 31 students or 77.50% of learning completeness level did not reach KKM (≥ 75), while only 9 students or 22.50 % Of learning completeness level reached KKM (≥ 75). 2) The improvement of students' mathematical communication ability is seen from the percentage of learning result that is on the pre cycle of 22,50%, increase in cycle I become 67,50%, and in cycle II increase to 87,50%. 3) The result of observation of student mathematics communication in cycle I obtained 51,12% with "Good" criteria, and increase in cycle II with percentage 71,16% with "Very Good" criteria. Based on the results of this classroom action research it can be concluded that the application of cooperative learning model jigsaw type can improve students' mathematical communication skills on square and rectangular building materials in class VII-2 MTs Negeri Binjai T.A. 2016/2017.

The purpose of this study was to examine: (1) improvement of problem solving ability of mathematics between students who were given inquiry learning model with REACT strategy with students who were given the usual learning model; (2) improvement of mathematical communication ability between students who are given inquiry learning model with REACT strategy with students who are given the usual learning model. This research was conducted in SMP Negeri 28 Medan with sample of 60 students. This study is a quasi-experimental study with pre-test-post-test control group design. The population in this study were all students of class VIII (eight) by taking samples of two classes (experimental class and control class) through random sampling technique. The instrument used consisted of mathematical problem solving test and mathematical communication skill test. The instrument is said to have fulfilled the terms of content validity and reliability coefficient. Data were analyzed by two-way ANAVA test. Prior to the use of two-track ANAVA test, homogeneity test in the study and normality in this study with 5% significance level. Based on the results of the analysis, the research results are obtained: (1) improvement of problem solving ability of mathematics students who get inquiry learning model with REACT strategy is higher than students who get ordinary learning model; (2) improvement of students' mathematical communication ability that obtains inquiry learning model with REACT strategy is higher than students who get ordinary learning model. Based on the results of this study, researchers suggest that inquiry learning model with REACT strategy can be an alternative for teachers to improve problem solving skills and mathematical communication.

The purpose of this research is to know: (1) improvement of problem solving ability of mathematics between students taught by using realistic mathematics approach higher than mathematical problem solving ability of students taught by using ordinary learning (2) is there any significant interaction between early ability of mathematics Students and learning to improve students' mathematical problem solving skills. This research is a quasi experimental research. The population in this study were all students of Shafiyyyatul Amaliyah High School Medan, which amounted to 250 students, by taking two class samples, totaling 62 students through purposive sampling technique. The instruments used consisted of: mathematical problem-solving test with Trigonometry material. The instrument is said to have fulfilled the terms of content validity, as well as the realibility coefficients for pretest and posttest of 0.861 and 0.859 for mathematical problem solving abilities. The results of this study indicate that: (1) the calculation result using two path anava that is 12,366 whereas the value of sig 0,001 <0,05 means the improvement of problem solving ability of mathematics between student which is taught by using realistic mathematics approach higher than the ability of problem solving of student mathematic which is taught By using ordinary learning, (2) the result of two-track anova calculation is 0.275 with sig value. 0,761> 0,05 means there is no interaction between students 'early mathematical ability and learning to improve students' mathematical problem solving abilities. Based on research findings, realistic mathematical approach can be recommended to be one of the learning approaches used in the main school to achieve the competence of problem solving ability of mathematics.

The purpose of this study is to determine: (1) How does an understanding of the concept of operations in the algebra class VII MTsN 2 Field, (2) how mathematics learning outcomes of students in class VII MTsN 2 Field, (3 ) How is the relationship between the understanding of the concept of operations with the algebra mathematics learning outcomes of students in class VII MTsN 2 Field. This research is a quantitative method decryption. The population in this study were student / I class VII MTsN 2 Field. The population in this research were 360 students / class VII I MTsN 2 Field, while the sample in this study taking 20% of the total student population that is 78 people. Instruments of data collection in this research is a test. Based on these results, obtained both variables were normally distributed research. For an understanding of the concept of form algebraic variables (X) obtained x2hitung = -252.11 and students' mathematics learning outcome variable (Y) obtained x2hitung = -13625.02, while x2tabel the significant level α = 5% is equal to 11.070. So for both variables were obtained count x2 > x2 table and this means that the two variables are normally distributed research. In this study correlation coefficient rxy = 0.974, t = 37.48 while. T value table (dk 76: α = 0.05) is equal to 1.995 to obtain t = 37.48> t table = 1.995. While the coefficient determinant of I = 0.94 or 94%, which means the amount of the contribution of independent variables to the dependent variable Y X is 94%, while 6% are determined by other factors. So the conclusions of this research are: there is a relationship between the understanding of the concept of the algebra of the learning outcomes math class VII MTsN 2 Medan.

The purpose of this study were: 1) To determine the ability of problem solving mathematics students are taught by cooperative learning type TAI in class VIII MTs UMN Al-Washliyah Medan TP.2016 / 2017. 2) To find out the ability of problem solving of mathematics of students taught by PBI learning in class VIII MTs UMN Al-Washliyah Medan TP.2016 / 2017. 3) To know the difference of problem solving ability of student mathematics taught by using cooperative learning model of TAI type and PBI learning in class VIII MTs UMN Al-Washliyah Medan TP.2016 / 2017. This research is quantitative research with quasi experiment research type. The population is all students of class VIII MTs UMN Al-Washliyah Medan TP.2016 / 2017, which amounts to 132 students from 4 classes. While the samples are 2 classes of class VIII-A amounted to 30 students and class VIII-B amounted to 31. Techniques of data collection conducted by observation, tests and documentation. The test instrument used to determine students' mathematical problem solving skills is essay test in the form of post-test. Data analysis was performed by normality test, homogeneity test and hypothesis test using variance analysis (ANAVA). The results of this finding indicate: 1) The ability of problem solving of students mathematics taught by using cooperative learning model type TAI very good. 2) Math problem solving skills of students who are taught using good PBI learning. 3) Students' mathematical problem solving ability on circle material is better if taught with cooperative learning model of TAI type rather than PBI learning in class VIII MTs UMN Al-Washliyah Medan TP.2016 / 2017. The conclusion of this research explains that the problem solving ability of students mathematics which is taught with cooperative learning model of TAI type better than that taught by PBI learning in class VIII MTs UMN Al-Washliyah Medan TP.2016 / 12017.

The objectives of this study are to observe whether : (1) the improvement of students’ logical reasoning ability thought by TPS cooperative learning model is higher than those taught by expository learning model, (2) the improvement of students’ mathematical communication ability taught by TPS cooperative learning model is higher than those taught by exspository learning model, This study was held at SMP Negeri 24 Medan by having 56 students as sample. This study used quasi-experimental method with pretest-postest control group design. The population of this study was all students of grade VIII taking two classes (experimental 1 class and experimental 2 class) through random sampling technique. The instrument had required content validity and coefficient reliability. Data were anayzed by t test. Before it was used t test the normality and homogenity tests with significant level 5% had been done. The result of data analysis showed that the average of N-Gain logical reasoning ability test is 0,65 in experiment class, while 0,5 in control class, with sig = 0,007 and 0.007 < α 0,05. Therefore, the improvement of students’ logical reasonig ability taught by experiment class is higher than control class. The average of N-Gain communication ability test in experiment is 0,62 in experiment class, while and 0,38 in control class, with sig = 0,000 and 0.000 < α 0,05. Therefore, the improvement of students’ communication ability taught by experiment class is higher than control class.

The type of research used is Classroom Action Research using Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach. This classroom action research is conducted through 2 cycles that include planning, implementation, observation and reflection activities. And to know the ability of understanding students' mathematical concepts Researchers use the comprehension test of the concept of mathematics individually. Subjects in this study were students of grade VIII-1 MTs. Al-Ilhamiyah Sidomulyo with a total of 31 students. The result of the research shows that before the giving of action only 3 students from 31 students complete in comprehension test of mathematics concept with percentage of 9.68%. After giving the action in cycle I, the students' understanding of mathematical concepts has increased by 48.39% percentage, or as many as 15 students from 31 students have completed in the comprehension ability test of mathematical concepts. After the improvement of cycle I to cycle II, the result of the ability to understand the concept of mathematics students cycle II has reached the classical completeness with the percentage of 87.10% or as many as 27 students have been completed in the ability to comprehend the concept of mathematics test. From the result of this class action research, the researcher concludes that there is improvement of students' mathematical concept comprehension ability by applying Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach to the students of grade VIII-1 MTs. Al-Ilhamiyah Sidomulyo.

The research was grounded by the results of previous research which showed that students’ mathematical representation ability is not as expected. One of learning strategy for enhancing mathematical representation thinking ability is formulate-share-listen-create (FSLC). This study examines the enhancement of students’ mathematical representation ability through the application of FSLC learning strategy. Through a quasi experiment with non-equivalent control group design involved 41 eight-grade students from a Islamic junior high school in Way Jepara. Instrument of the study consist a set of mathematical representation ability test, and observation. Data are analyzed by using t-test. The result obtained is the enhancement of students’ mathematical representation ability who were taught under FSLC learning strategy is better than those who were taught under conventional learning.

The purpose of this research is to know: (1) mathematical communication ability of students in class VIII SMP Yayasan Pendidikan Islam Deli Tua before applied realistic mathematics approach, (2) process of realistic mathematical approach implementation to improve students' mathematical communication ability in circle material in class VIII SMP Yayasan Islamic Education Deli Tua, (3) improvement of students' mathematical communication ability in class VIII SMP Yayasan Pendidikan Islam Deli Tua after applied realistic mathematics approach. This type of research is a classroom action research. The subjects of this study are the students of class VIII-2 SMP Yayasan Pendidikan Islam Deli Tua which amounts to 24 students and the object of this research is the application of realistic mathematical approach to improve students' mathematical communication skills in the circle material in class VIII SMP Yayasan Pendidikan Islam Deli Tua TA 2016/2017 . Data analysis shows that in learning by applying realistic mathematical approach can improve students' mathematical communication ability. The percentage of students' mathematical communication ability level is classified as an improvement in the initial test of 29.17%, in the first cycle of 66.67%, and in cycle II increased to 87.50%. Observations on the process of applying a realistic mathematical approach done by teachers also increased, the result of observation in cycle I is 2.7 which means good and in cycle II is 3.1 which means good. This shows that the application of realistic mathematical approach can improve students' mathematical communication ability in learning mathematics in class VIII SMP Yayasan Pendidikan Islam Deli Tua T.A 2016/2017.
