Abstract

Abstrak: Ritual Memandikan Bayi Perdana di Aceh: Studi Etnografi di Labuhan Haji Barat, Aceh Selatan. Kelahiran bayi dianggap sesuatu yang sakral bagi warga Aceh. Beberapa ritual dilakukan untuk menghormati proses tersebut, baik sebelum maupun sesudahnya. Termasuk dalam tujuan ritual adalah menyembuhkan sang ibu yang telah melahirkan secara fisik dan mental. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan ritual memandikan bayi yang dipraktikkan oleh warga Aceh di desa Blangporoh, Aceh Selatan. Pendekatan kualitatif diterapkan dengan wawancara dan pengamatan lapangan sebagai instrumen pengumpul data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa komunitas di desa tersebut masih mengaplikasikan ritual memandikan bayi sebagai sebuah simbol menyambut bayi di kalangan mereka. Salah satu ritual mengurbankan seekor kambing jantan, akikah, juga turut dilaksanakan. Kedua ritual tersebut sangat esensial di dalam masyarakat tersebut sebagai salah satu cara memperkenalkan sang bayi terhadap nilai-nilai sosial budaya sejak awal masa kanak-kanak.Kata Kunci: ritual, kelahiran bayi, memandikan bayi, Aceh, IndonesiaAbstract: Childbirth is considered sacred by Acehnese peoples and as such, a newly born baby was introduced to the surrounding world in certain rituals. This is regarded as a re-enactment of the Prophet Muhammad’s actions in the seventh century and a continuation of the village norms to preserve the relations of communications and exchanges across generations. The rituals are conducted to honour this process, before and after it, as well as helping mother to heal the physical and mental condition after labouring. This study aimed to describe the ritual of infant bathing practiced by Acehnese people living in the village of Blangporoh, South Aceh. The qualitative approach was applied as the interviews and field observations were due to collect the data. The result indicated that this community still preserved the ritual of infant bathing as a symbol of welcoming the baby as a way to integrate the baby within society. There was also tradition of the animal sacrifice, Akikah, done along the ritual of infant bathing. The author emphasized that both rituals were important within the society as a way to introducing the baby to socio-cultural values since the early childhood.Keywords: rituals, new-born baby, bathing baby, Aceh, Indonesia

Abstract

Abstrak: Training Ulama dan Modernisasi Madrasah Al Washliyah. Langkah penting dalam modernisasi pendidikan era kemerdekaan Indonesia adalah integrasi Madrasah ke dalam sistem sekolah nasional. Tulisan ini mengkaji bagaimana Madrasah Al Washliyah merespon perkembangan ini dan sejauh mana kebijakan tersebut telah memengaruhi visinya dalam mencapai tujuan sebagai lembaga pencetak ulama. Didirikan pada tahun 1930, Al Jam'iyatul Washliyah mendirikan sejumlah Madrasah dengan misi utama untuk melatih ulamâ masa depan, dengan mengembangkan kurikulum yang meliputi 70% subyek Islam dan 30% subyek umum, yang berdampak positif pada produksi lulusannya. Terbitnya SKB 3 Menteri tahun 1975 membuat Madrasah Al Washliyah tidak memiliki pilihan kecuali menyesuaikan kurikulum. Dengan kurikulum yang disponsori pemerintahan baru tersebut, Madrasah Al Washliyah kehilangan kemampuan untuk menghasilkan generasi muda ulama. Tahun 1990-an terjadi kelangkaan ulama pada tingkat mengkhawatirkan, dan belum ada tanda strategi yang layak untuk memenuhi tantangan ini.Kata Kunci: Al Washliyah, madrasah, ‘ulamâ’, Islamic education Abstract: One of the marked steps in education modernization in independence Indonesia is the integration of madrasas into national schooling system. This paper attempts to study how Al Washliyah Madrasah responds to this development and to what extent the policy has affected their vision in achieving the goal as an ‘ulama’ training institution. Founded in 1930, Al Jam’iyatul Washliyah established significant number of madrasas with a core mission of training future ‘ulamâ’ to fill the need of Muslim society. In order to achieve this mission Al Washliyah developed a curriculum that is made of 70% Islamic subjects and 30% general subjects, which made them delivering very well. The 1975 Joint Decree of Three Ministers (SKB 3 Menteri) gave Al Washliyah madrasa no choice but to adjust its curriculum. The author finds that with the new state-sponsored curriculum, Al Washliyah madrasa loses the ability to produce young generations of ‘ulamâ’. The 1990s witnessed the scarcity of ‘ulamâ’ and becoming more alarming ever since, nonetheless, viable strategy yet to be found to meet the challenge. Abstract

Abstrak: Membangun Kerukunan Sosial dalam Minoritas Syiah Jepara. Kajian ini bertujuan menganalisis tradisi positif yang dipraktikkan oleh kaum minoritas Syiah di Jepara dengan pendekatan Appreciative Inquiry (AI), yang tujuannya adalah untuk menciptakan kerukunan sosial antara Sunni dan Syiah. Penelitian ini difokuskan pada  Yayasan Syi'ah Darut Taqrib sebagai pusat pendidikan kaum minoritas Syiah. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa kekuatan Syiah di Jepara terletak pada kesamaan praktik keagamaan seperti tahlilan, memperingati Maulid Nabi Muhammad, dan ziarah kuburan. Cara yang paling penting bagi minoritas Syiah untuk berinteraksi dengan mayoritas Sunni ditandai dengan keterbukaaan dalam berbagai kegiatan baik di bidang keagamaan acara nasional. Selain itu, hubungan sosial yang erat antara lingkungan Pesantren dan masyarakat sekitar memberikan kontribusi yang sangat besar dalam mengikis stigma negatif mengenai kebidahan Syiah, tetapi hidup selaras dengan mayoritas Sunni tanpa kecurigaan, sentimen dan ketegangan.Kata Kunci: Syiah Sunni, appreciative inquiry, kerukunan, Jepara Abstract: This study aims to analyze positive traditions practiced by Shi‘ite minorities in Jepara using the Appreciative Inquiry (AI) approach, the objective of which is to creating social harmony between Sunnis and Shia. The focus of the research is the Shi‘ite Darut Taqrib foundation as a centre for the education of the Shi‘ite minorities. The study found that the strength of the Shi‘ite citizens lie in the similarity of religious practice such as tahlilan, commemorating the Prophet Muhammad, and grave pilgrimages. The most important way for the Shi‘ite minority to interact with the Sunni majority characterized in an open interaction with the majority of people both in the field of religious activities and national related commemoration. In addition, this close social relationship between the pesantren environment and the surrounding community contributed greatly in eroding the negative stigma about Shia heresy but rather live in harmony with the Sunni majority without suspicion, sentiment, or class tension.Keywords: Shiite, Sunni, appreciative inquiry, social harmony, Jepara

Abstract

Abstrak: Memotret Polarisasi Politik Persatuan Islam dalam Kasus Mohamad Natsir vs Isa Anshary. Meski sama-sama berasal dari Persis (Persatuan Islam) dan berafiliasi pada Masyumi, Mohamad Natsir dan Isa Anshary memiliki perbedaan pandangan politik yang cukup tajam, yang terpenting di antaranya tentang dasar negara, antara Islam dan Pancasila. Memang, keduanya sama-sama menginginkan negara Indonesia berdasarkan Islam. Namun Natsir memiliki sikap yang lebih lentur daripada Isa Anshary. Tak pelak perbedaan sikap kedua tokoh itu berimbas pada organisasi mereka, Persis. Tulisan ini mencoba mengkaji pemikiran keduanya terkait posisi Islam dan Pancasila sebagai dasar negara, latar belakang dan implikasinya terhadap Persatuan Islam. Dari kajian yang dilakukan ditemukan bahwa perbedaan pandangan politik mereka didasari oleh latar belakang sosio-historis dan pengalaman politik yang berbeda. Sikap Natsir yang moderat disebabkan oleh pengalaman terlibat dalam pemerintahan. Sementara Isa Anshary lebih kaku karena pengalaman hidupnya selama Revolusi Fisik dan pengalaman politiknya di luar pemerintahan. Kajian ini mengimplikasikan bahwa sikap politik elite Persis sangat beragam dan tidak monolitik.Kata Kunci: PERSIS, Masyumi, negara, Pancasila, Natsir, Isa Anshary Abstract: Despite having similar background Persatuan Islam and affiliated to Masyumi Party, Mohammad Natsir and Isa Anshary have quite different political view. One of the most significant differences is their view on the foundation of the country, between Islam and Pancasila. Both of these figures had actually proposed Indonesia to base on Islam. However, Natsir’s attitude on this issue is more flexible than that of Isa Anshary’s, which ultimately have impact on their organization. This article examines the differences of these two figures related to their position on Islam and Pancasila as the basis of the country, the background and implication of their differences on PERSIS. This study concludes that their political differences stemmed from their socio-historic and political experience differences. Natsir’s moderate atttidue is due to his experience of being involved in government practices. Meanwhile, Isa Anshary’s is more uncompromising due to his experience during Physical Revolution and his political experience outside the government system. Keywords: PERSIS, Masyumi, state, Pancasila, Natsir, Isa Anshary

Abstract

Abstraks: Pemali dalam Perspektif Hukum Islam: Studi Fenomenologi di Masyarakat Patampanua Matakali Polewali Mandar. Pemali di tengah masyarakat menjadi kearifan lokal yang bisa mengarahkan subjek masyarakat dalam bersikap dan bertindak. Konstruksi ini sejatinya selaras dengan adanya hukum Islam yang ingin menjaga ketentraman dan kesejahteraan masyarakat. Oleh karenanya, riset ini memfokuskan pada konsep pemali yang ada di masyarakat suku Mandar di desa Patampanua kecamatan Matakali kabupaten Polewali Mandar dilihat dari sudut pandang hukum Islam. Dari fokus riset ini, pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan jenis fenomenologi. Riset ini menemukan bahwa konstruksi pemali yang ada di masyarakat suku Mandar muncul disebabkan setidaknya tiga faktor utama, yaitu faktor lingkungan, psikologi dan faktor sosial. Konstruksi ini ketika dilihat dari perspektif hukum Islam memiliki kesesuaian visi untuk membangun masyarakat yang memiliki moralitas, sehingga subjek masyarakat melalui pemali senantiasa terjaga dari perilaku dan sikap yang destruktif.Kata Kunci: Pemali, Polewali Mandar, kearifan lokal, hukum Islam Abstract: Pemali in the community has become a local culture that could engineer the community to behave and act. This construction is actually in harmony with the existence of laws that becomes as an avenue to maintain the peace and welfare of people. This research focuses on the concept of pemali in the Mandar tribe community in Patampanua village, Matakali sub-district, Polewali Mandar district from the perspective of Islamic law. From the focus of this research, the approach used is qualitative with phenomenology type. This research found that the existing pemali construction in the Mandar tribe community emerged due to at least three main factors, namely environmental, psychological, and social factors. This construction when viewed from the perspective of Islamic law has a concurring vision to build a society that has morality. So that the subject of society through pemali is always avoided by destructive behavior and attitudes. Keywords: Pemali, Polewali Mandar, local wisdom, Islamic law
