Abstract

Students' mathematical reasoning in mathematics learning in Class VIII SMPN 1 Cibeureum of Kuningan Regency is still low. This is because the implementation of conventional learning model that less develop the ability to learn and build individuals. Conventional learning tends to minimize student involvement so teachers seem to be more active. The habit of being passive in the learning process can cause most students to be afraid and embarrassed to ask the teacher about the less interesting material. One of the learning model that is tried through this research is Teams Games Tournament (TGT) learning model. The problems in this research are: "Application of Cooperative Learning Type Teams Games Tournament Model (TGT) is better used in students' mathematical reasoning ability in mathematics learning compared with conventional model". The purpose of this research is to know the application of Teams Games Tournament (TGT) learning model to students' mathematical reasoning ability in learning mathematics. In this research the method used is experimental method. Surachmad (2001: 148) argued that "experimental method is a way to know the factors that cause the cause of the emergence of a result is to compare the events where there is a certain phenomenon. The population of this study are students of class VIII SMPN 1 Cibeureum Kuningan District. Sampling in this research using purposive sampling technique with M-G pattern that is using balancing technique average pretest value of control group and experiment group. There are 2 (two) variables in this study, namely: (1) Teams Games Tournament Learning Model (TGT) with conventional learning model, and (2) students' math competency. Data collection techniques used are documentation, tests, and questionnaires. Instrument test results (validity test, level of difficulty, distinguishing power) consisting of 5 items and used for pretest and postes are 5 items. Based on the results of validity, reliability, difficulty, and distinguishing test for pretest, postes, and questionnaires, all instruments are valid, reliable and can be used for data collection. The result of difference test of two pretest mean concluded there is no difference between experimental group and control group. The difference test of experimental group postes and control group was found that the experimental group was better than the control group. Average estimation in control group with mean of student learning result 54.21 while estimation of experiment group average with mean of learning result 56.53 mean experimental group result of student's mathematical ability ability on learning mathematics higher than with control group, hence there is influence Teams Games Tournament (TGT) learning model on students' mathematical reasoning ability in learning mathematics in grade VIII SMPN 1 Cibeureum of Kuningan. Abstract

Students low ability on mathematics in elementary school can caused students low motivation on mathematics in Junior high school. Because of students low motivation on learning mathematics. The student achievement in mathematics be come lower. Weekness of student participation in social arithmetic subject caused many Students have lower value from Minimum KKM which applied at school. The problem of study in this research are : How the Students Participation after applied role playing method on social arithmetic subject in class VII C SMPN 1 Karangkancana. How the students learning outcomes after applied role playingmethod on social Arithmetic Subject in class VII C SMPN 1 Karangkancana. Role playing method is learning method where students group playing roles which there is story questions while other students group doing observation. The Procedure of this PTK Study divided into two Cycle. Every Cycle Consist of twice meeting, twice meeting to delivering subject and once meeting to do evaluation. Based on the result of this research, it can be seen on cycle I and cycle II in student assessment activity that psychomotor aspect gained average value 69 with good enough criteria on cycle I while on cycle II gained average value 84 with good criteria. Whereas in cognitive activity that measure students level Comprehension Concept especially on evaluation activity, it found that student average value on cycle I is 65,76 with KKM level 61,57 after that on cycle II found that students average value is 79,23 with KKM level achieved 92,30 % and student participation on cycle I less have an active roles. It can be seen on student psychomotor aspect gained average value 69 whereas on cycle II student participation has improved with achieved average value in student psychomotor is 84. We can concluded that learning with role playing method can improves student active role and student achievement on mathenatics learning activity. In student class VII SMPN 1 Krangkancan

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the application of make a match learning model can improve students' understanding in the material set.This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR). The subjects of this study were the students of class VII A SMPN 2 Kalimanggis District Kuningan academic year 2016/2017. The study was conducted collaboratively between researchers, observers, and subjects studied. Implementation of this research is done in the even semester of the academic year 2016/2017. This classroom action research process is conducted in two cycles, each cycle consists of four main actions: planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection. The end of each cycle is tested using question instrument. The test used is a description test performed at the end of cycle I and cycle II. Besides as an evaluation tool, this test is conducted to know the students' understanding. Data processing techniques student learning outcomes are performing tests, collecting test results, correcting test results, scoring the acquisition of test results, determining the value of test results and determining the average value.The results showed that the average value of learning outcomes in the first cycle to get the value of 75 and the second cycle of the average value of learning outcomes increased to obtain the value 87. Similarly, the results of student activity observations showed an increase. In the first cycle of participation and activity of students is 60% and in the second cycle of participation and student activity increased to 80%, so most of the participation and activities of students categorized well. While the results of teacher performance observation obtained the value of implementation aspects of observations in the first cycle of 80% and in the second cycle managed 100%. This study concludes that make a match learning model can improve students' comprehension ability in Mathematics subject in the material set.

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to investigate whether Guided Finding Methods could improve students' understanding of geometry in class 8. The method used is Classroom Action Research. The research was done at SMP Negeri 2 Ciwaru located at Jl. Raya Sumberjaya, Desa Citikur, Kecamatan Ciwaru, Kabupaten Kuningan. The subjects of the researchs were the students of SMP Negeri 2 Ciwaru class 8 academic year 2016/2017. They were chosen because after consulting with mathematics teachers that this had major problems regarding the comprehension ability of mathematical concepts. Data collection techniques: observation, interview and questionnaire. The research was done in 2 cycles, each cycle was done in 3 sessions. Each session includes 4 stages: planning, action, observation and reflection. The results of the research as follows: Learning with guided discovery method can improve students' understanding 73.82%. With the following details on the first cycle students who reached the KKM 17 students (62.54%) with an average score of 65.74. In cycle II the number of KKM 23 students (85.19%) the average score in cycle II was 79.26. Based on the results of the research it is advisable to use guided discovery methods in improving students' comprehension skills.

Abstract

Desi Trisusanti (NIM:153223018), Realistic Mathematics Education Based on Bruner’s Theory to Improve Critical Thinking Mathematically geometry of square At Junior High School Students Build Materials (Classroom Action Research at SMPN 2 Cimahi Grades 7B), Department of Mathematics (PMTK), 2017. Capabilities Critical thinking is very important to be possessed by learners. Critical thinking is applied to learners to learn to solve problems systematically, innovatively and designing fundamental solutions. Improvement of critical thinking skills is done through a meaningful learning process for learners. A knowledge will be meaningful for learners if the learning process is implemented in a context or learning using realistic problems. This study aims to improve the critical thinking skills of class 7B students on the material geometry of square through Realistic Mathematical Learning Model-Based Mathematical Learning. This research is a classroom action research with research objects 7B grade students of SMPN 2 Cimahi 2nd semester in the academic year 2016/2017 as many as 26 people. The study was conducted in two cycles, each cycle consisting of 4 stages of planning, action, observation and reflection. The indicator of success of this research is the percentage of critical thinking ability based on KKM more than 71.5% are in high to very high category, Percentage of critical thinking ability of individual mathematical experience from cycle 1 to cycle 2, percentage of classical learning completion at least 80% Students of realistic mathematics learning model based on Bruner's theory are in good category up to very well. Based on the analysis of research data, cycle 1 percentage critical thinking skills of learners reached 69.95% in middle category and the percentage of classical learning completeness reached 69.23%. While on the second cycle of the percentage of the critical thinking skills of students is reached 75.18% at the high category 5:23% or an increase of cycle 1. Percentage of classical learning completeness in cycle 2 reached 84.62%, an increase of 15:39% of cycle 1. Response Learners toward Learning Mathematical Model Realistic-Based Theory Bruner is on the rise and is in good category. From these results it can be concluded that the Realistic Mathematics Instructional Model-Based Theory of Bruner can improve critical thinking skills on the material flat wake mathematical learners 7B classroom SMPN 2 Cimahi.

Abstract

Observations conducted by researchers in one of class VII showed that the ability of students' understanding in the class is still minus. Whereas in KTSP 2013 mentioned that mathematical understanding is one of the basic competencies that must be owned and developed by students in learning mathematics. Based on the problem, the research was conducted by implementing constructivism model of learning in mathematics learning. Constructivism is one of the learning model where the students are actively mentally build their own knowledge based on the cognitive structure they have. This study is a classroom action research (PTK) carried out at SMPN 1 Lebakwangi. To obtain data in this study, the instruments used are the ability of comprehension test, observation sheet and student response questionnaire. Tests are tested with validity, reliability of difficulty levels and distinguishing power. The collected data is analyzed descriptively and quantitatively. Through the test obtained at each end of the cycle obtained the results of cycle I 45.75%, cycle II 65, 71%, and cycle III 85, 71%. From the results of this study also shows that learning mathematics with constructivism learning model can improve students' understanding ability. The best improvement is achieved on the aspect of the ability to transform a form of representation to another and the ability to recognize the various meanings and interpretations of concepts. This is seen from the calculation of the gain index is 0.29 with the medium category. Besides from result of questionnaire of student response showed positive response from student at learning by using constructivism learning model. This is seen from the results of the questionnaire calculation with the majority of students answered the response agreed 46, 38%.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menguji efektifitas pembelajaran matematika dengan menggunakan pendekatan constextual melalui penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK). PTK ini menyajikan temuan dari penelitian mengenai upaya meningkatkan kemampuan koneksi melalui pendekatan Contextual pada mata pelajaran matematika. Penelitian ini melibatkan kelas tujuh A di SMP Negeri 1 Maleber pada semester genap tahun ajaran 2016-2017. Penelitian menggunakan instrumen tes uraian untuk mengevaluasi kemampuan koneksi matematika siswa serta menggunakan angket respon siswa untuk mengetahui respon siswa terhadap pembelajaran yang diterapkan. Untuk mengetahui kemampuan koneksi matematika siswa, peneliti menggunakan Hasil Belajar Siswa (HBS) yang didasarkan pada Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimum (KKM), dimana KKM yang dipakai adalah 74 . Hasil kemampuan koneksi klasikal siswa perlakuan awal berada pada kategori sangat kurang yaitu sekitar 36.36% dan hasil akhir siklus kedua dan ketiga secara berturutturut adalah 72.72% dan 87.87% yaitu akhir siklus dua berada pada kategori cukup dan akhir siklus tiga pada kategori sangat baik, ini menunjukan adanya peningkatan secara signifikan. Begitupun kemampuan koneksi matematika per indikator mengalami peningkatan. Selain itu dari hasil angket respon siswa, diketahui pada awal siklus pertama respon belajar klasikal siswa hanya mencapai 2.48 yaitu berada pada kategori cukup sedangkan akhir siklus ketiga respon klasikal siswa mencapai 3.43 yaitu berada pada kategori sangat baik. Dari data tersebut bisa disimpulkan bahwa siswa merespon dengan baik terhadap penerapan pembelajaran dengan pendekatan contextual.

Abstract

The Ability To Solve need to be improved, therefore learning must be interesting and fud. One day to improve student,s ability is through The Formation of Study Group Based On Sociometry. The research aims to know the learning process, improve the ability, and influence The Formation of Study Group Based On Sociometry in Solve stories In Mathematics. This research is Classroom Action Research. This subject in this research is the students of grade eight F SMPN 4 Kuningan. Semester II schools year 2016/2017. The sum of the student geometry grade eight Fare thirty-six students. This research is collaborative between researcher, headmaster and subject teacher. Data were collected through observation, field notes, interviews, and documentation. The validity of the data is checked by triangulation. The data were analyzed descriptively, qualitative flow model. The results of this study indicate that there is an increase in the ability of children through The Formation of Study Group Based On Sosiometry. Namely the improvement of student,s skill in solving the story of cycle I as big 80.00 %. The improvement of student,s skill in solving the story of cycle II as big 90.32 %. And the improvement of student,s skill in solving the story of cycle III as big 97.22 %. The conclusion of this study is The Formation of Study Group Based On Sociometry can improve the ability to solve math story problems

Abstract

Student problem solving on learning mathematics in Class X SMK YAMSIK Kuningan is still low. This is because the implementation of conventional learning model that less develop the ability to learn and build individuals. Conventional learning tends to minimize student involvement so teachers seem to be more active. The habit of being passive in the learning process can cause most students to be afraid and embarrassed to ask the teacher about the less interesting material. One of the learning models tried through this research is the Make A Match learning model. The purpose of this research is to know the effectiveness of Make A Match method in learning mathematics. The population of this research is students of class X SMK YAMSIK Kuningan. Sampling in this research using Cluster Random Sampling technique with M-G pattern that is using balancing technique average pretest value of control group and experiment group. There are 2 (two) variables in this research, namely: (1) Make A Match Learning Model with conventional learning model, and (2) Problem solving student. Data collection techniques used are documentation, tests, and questionnaires. Instrument test results (validity test, level of difficulty, distinguishing power) consisting of 5 items and used for pret test and post test are 5 items. Based on the results of instrument reliability test for pretest, postes, and questionnaires obtained the whole instrument is reliable and can be used for data collection. The test result difference of two average pret test (t is in the acceptance area of ​​Ho) concluded there is no difference between the experimental group and the control group. Test of difference of post experiment group average and control group was found that experimental group was better than control group. Average estimation in control group with mean of student learning result 35.92 meanwhile experimental group average estimation with mean of result of learning 37.94 mean control group result of problem solving at learning of mathematics lower than experiment group, hence there is influence between effectiveness The model of Make A Match learning in mathematics learning in grade X students of SMK YAMSIK Kuningan. Based on the results of the study concluded that learning by using Make A Match model socialized and used as an alternative in learning mathematics in school. In addition to further research as the development of other research. Based on the results of the study it is suggested that the application of Make A Match learning model is socialized and used as an alternative in learning mathematics in schools to improve student learning outcomes. In addition, in the application of this model a teacher should always keep an eye on the class to motivate students' activeness and provide individual and group guidance. Further research needs to be done as self-development so as to develop research in a wider scope.

Abstract

The purpose in this research is to know of student respond to medium visual action in mathematic subject studying in order to up student interest in the classroom. The research is conducted through the stage of pre-test and cycle in which the data are collected through tests and analyzed descriptively. The result of the research shows that there is a significant improvement of the students’ interest after they have been exposed with the implementation of visual media presentation. The students’ completeness of the pre-test which is 56% and the average is 73 in Cycle I has increased to 69% with the average 76. The same thing happens to Cycle II in which it increases to 74% with the average of 78. It also happens to the Cycle III in which it increases to 86% and the average is 80. The result of the questionnaire which assesses the aspect of comprehension is 91,7 %. On the other side, the result of the questionnaire which assesses the aspect of the improvement of the students’ interest is 93,5 %. The success of improving the students’ interest is also due to the school facility, the readiness of the researcher, and the condition of the students in the classroom. The result of the research is that the implementation of visual media can increase the students’ interest in learning. The advise can give are the teacher should can to motivation the student with way study diversity in the classroom though student interest to mathematic subject can up more.
