By moving from the "integrated" to the "dynamic" supply chain model, businesses may see their supply chains as flexible ecosystems of people, processes, capital assets, technology, and data. In the rapidly evolving corporate world, effective supply chain management (SCM) is a critical issue. Dynamic SCM necessitates good decision information synchronization and integrated decision-making among autonomous chain partners. Complex supply chains (SCs), which are part of globalised economic systems, must be managed to minimize sustainability-related risks and to manage environmental and social impacts in accordance with the expectations of many stakeholders. The analysis of recent trends has highlighted the fact that use of quantitative modelling techniques for sustainable supply chain management (SSCM) is increasingly becoming more and more popular. Secondly, simulation techniques are underrepresented in SSCM compared to analytical models and mathematical programming. For organizations that are looking to infuse a fresh breath in there SCM operations inclusion of system dynamics (SD) modelling for simulating and analyzing complex and dynamic systems as well as for assisting long-term, strategic decision-making will pay rich dividends.Â

Food markets have been in a state of upheaval for some time now. Due to the current trend of numerous consumers favouring sustainable nutrition, the organic food market has proven to be an important market for both consumers and producers. This development enables consumers to continue to afford sustainable food in the future. Due to the complexity and non-transparency of value chains (especially in the organic food market) as well as the insufficient labelling of organic food, there is a lack of information in the organic food market. This often results in market failure. The aim of this research is to understand the problems caused by asymmetric information in the food supply chain and to present the principal-agent theory to detect and describe asymmetric information and as an economic model for understanding asymmetric information in the food supply chain. The principal-agent theory is most frequently used to explain and describe asymmetric information. The imperfection of principal-agent theory is due to the lack of and insufficient application of theories from related disciplines such as transaction theory and game theory. Furthermore, the theory assumes the existence of an informed agent and an uninformed principal. Finally, the analysis of information asymmetry is based on the existence of only principal and agent and neglects the information asymmetries in multi-level network-value chains. This paper presents a structured literature review that provides an overview of the current literature on the subject of asymmetric information in multi-level network-value chains. The identified studies are classified, and gaps are identified for future research.

-This paper discusses risk mitigation in procurement and how this could evolve over the next decade as a result of advances in Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications. The paper includes a literature review that covers contractors’ prequalification as a common measure for risk mitigation, a brief non-technical introduction to AI, and the previous research related to the application of AI in contractors’ prequalification. The paper expounds the current practice of contractor prequalification and reveals some of the current deficiencies in manual evaluation and the previously proposed AI models. Finally, the paper proposes a framework in which AI can assist risk mitigation in procurement.
