Abstract

The aim of this research was to know the effect of salinity on survival rate and growth of Macrobrachium rosenbergii. The treatments are 0 ppt (control), 3 ppt, 6 ppt, 9 ppt, 12 ppt, and 15 ppt. The survival rate, length growth, weight growth, and daily growth rate have been evaluated.  This research showed there were significantly different between the treatments on survival rate and weight growth (P<0.05). The highest of survival rate get from treatment with salinity 3 ppt, 6 ppt, 9 ppt and 12 ppt. The highest of weight growth get from treatment with salinity 0 ppt, 3 ppt, 6 ppt and 9 ppt. This research showed there were not significantly different between the treatments on the daily growth rate and length growth (P>0.05). Key words: Salinity, survival rate, growth, Macrobrachium rosenbergii

Abstract

This research was conducted in the waters of  Muara Gembong, Bekasi, on  January to March, 2018. Sampling of blood cockle is carried out in 3 station vertically to the direction of the sea. Determination of station is carried out based on  the fishing ground of the fisherman. Analyses of blood cockle is carried out in the Laboratory of the Research Center for Oceanography, LIPI, Ancol – North Jakarta. This research was aimed to analyze the reproductive biological aspects  which includes the ratio of gender, the gonad maturity rate, the gonad maturity index, the length-weight relationship, the condition factor of Anadara granosa in the waters of Muara Gembong, Bekasi. The results of observation of 400 samples showed that the length-weight relationship of blood cockle of  female and  male  has the pattern of the negative  allometric relationship. The overall ratio of gender between the blood cockle of male and female is 1.3:1. The average value of the gonad maturity index of the male blood cockle is 1.1874 and the  value of the gonad maturity index of the female blood cockle is 1.1983. Key words: Anadara granosa, growth, the ratio of gender, gonad maturity index

Abstract

The objective goal of this research is to measure the institutional economic value of marine protected area management of Depapre Bay in Jayapura Regency. This institutional economic value can be measured by transaction cost analysis and ecosystem services valuation within techniques of  project based cost approach (PBCA), benefit transfer (BTM) and basic payment ecosystem serives (BPES).  The result shows that the transaction cost of marine protected area management amounted IDR 6.04-12.07 billion per year, meanwhile the potential benefit of ecosystem services of marine protected area management of Depapre Bay amounted IDR 1.62 trillion per year and the basic payment ecosystem services as an entrance fee to the marine conservation area amounted IDR 51,587.52 per people per trip.  Key words: transaction cost, institutional economic, ecosystem services, entrance fee, PES

Abstract

Marine economy is an economic activity carried out in the sea and land areas whose activities are still related to marine resources. The marine sector is defined as seven sectors, namely: fisheries, marine tourism, mining, marine industry, sea transportation (marine transportation), marine building, marine services. This study used descriptive and impact analysis in the national Input-Output Table in 2010. The total output of the marine sector accounted for 27.39% of total national output. The GDP value in the marine sector is able to contribute 30.32% of the total national GDP. From the results of calculations regarding the analysis of the multiplier numbers by output, the formation of new output in the economy was 1.4087 units. Analysis of multiplier numbers by job opportunities causes an increase in employment opportunities by an average of 0.1451 units. The majority of the sectors of maritime tourism show high distribution power. The largest sub-sector with a sensitivity index value is the trade service sub-sector, which is 1.4608. Abstract

The research objectives to explore the characteristic of hydrooceanography in coastal of Agam Regency. The observations parameters included physical aspecs such as bathymetric, tide, wave, water current, Transparancy, and temperature; and so chemical aspecs such as pH, salinity, dissolved oxygen, and COD. Hydrooseanographic characteristics on Agam Regency coastal described the bathymetry was shallow to deep , high wave, high tidal range, water currents dependent on season, and water quality were in good criteria to life support of aquatic biota. Key words: Hydrooceanography, wave, tidal, water quality

Abstract

This research aims to determine the growth and survival rate of Giant Freshwater Prawns and Nilem fish are reared in polyculture system with different of stocking density of Nilem fish. Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 3 treatments and 3 replications were used in this experiment, the different stocking density of Nilem fish as a treatments were as followed: A) 25 fish / m2; B) 50 fish / m2; and C) 75fish / m2 while stocking density of Giant Freshwater Prawn was 20 prawn / m2 for all treatmets. Culture period was 3 months, the waste of fish was maintaned using media filter (physical and biological) in recirculation system. The parameters such as survival, growth, and water quality were observed. The results of this study were consisted of survival rate and growth. The survival rate  of Giant Freshwater Prawn the highest was 59,76% (A), and the lowest was 44,29% (C), while Nilem fish the highest was 65% (A), and the lowest was 43.56% (C). The results of fish growth consist of absolute length, absolute weight and SGR. Absolute length of Giant Freshwater Prawn the highest was 3.09 cm (A), and the lowest was 2.38 cm (C). Nilem fish the highest was 8.63 cm (A),  and the lowest was 6.28 cm (C). The absolute weight of  Giant Freshwater Prawn the highest was 8.83 g (A), and the lowest was 5.94 g (C). Nilem fish the ighest was 10.02 g (A), and the lowest was 4.49 g (C), SGR of Giant Freshwater Prawn the highest was 1.71% (A), and the lowest was 1.33% (C). Nilem fish the highest was 9.56% (A),and the lowest was 8.31% (C). Based on these data,  A treatment was the best where according to ANOVA and Tukeys test revealed that A treratment showed significantly different (P<0.05) from B and C treatments Key words: Nilem fish, stocking density, polyculture, Giant Freshwater Prawn
