Abstract

Besides its role during fermentation process, yeast also has potential as biological agent because of its antagonistics characteristic. We have isolated yeast from six different locations based on Phospourus differences. Isolated yeast were then tested its antagonistics ability of Fusarium oxysporum, the pathogen causing tomato wilt disease. This research aims to find out the diversity of yeast found in the tomato rhizosphere in six different contents of phosphorus locations and to know its antagonistics ability against the pathogenic. F. oxysporum. This research was conducted in the Laboratory of Mycology, Department of Pests and Diseases, Faculty of Agriculture, Brawijaya University, Malang and in the Chemistry Laboratory, Institut Teknologi 10 Nopember Surabaya, started from January up to September 2015. Yeasts have been isolated from tomato’s rhizosphere of 6 different locations around East Java proviences. The result showed that yeasts from organic field (Lower P content) were 6 genera. They are Candida sp. 1, Pichia sp. 1, Hansenula sp., Metschnikowia sp. 1, Cryptococcus sp., and Zygosaccharomyces sp. While the yeasts from inorganic field (higher P) were 3 genera. The most potential yeast in controlling F. oxysporum is Pichia sp. 2. Lower P content showed more divers than higher P content. Yeasts from higher soil P content showed more antagonists to control F. oxysporum. Keywords: Phosphor, correlation, yeast, antagonistic, disease, soil

Abstract

One of the most important diseases of citrus plant is anthracnose which caused by Colletotrichum gloeosporioides (Penz.) fungi. Yeast is one of microbes which has a good potential to control the disease. This research focused on exploring yeasts on tangerines and examining their efficacy to control C. gloeosporioides using in vitro and in vivo treatments. Observation was started by isolated C. gloeosporioides and yeast from tangerines citrus fruit, then followed with in vitro and in vitro treatment. Both were counted the percentage of antagonist and pathogen incubation stage and also disease incidence, respectively. Result showed that yeast has been isolated from tangerines fruit were Candida sp. (isolate 1), Candida sp. (isolate 2) and Pichia sp. All yeast showed inhibit C. gloeosporioides growth and suppressed its development.

Abstract

The excessive use of resources leads to increase the production costs and wasted materials. It also resulted in a decrease in the level of the company’s production efficiency. However, it is not easy to identify the problem of waste. Small batik industry in Magetan city which is famous for Batik Tulis Pring Sedapur pattern is also one of the businesses which are until now still looking for the inefficiency of the production process so that the daily output is less than optimal. Therefore, the interviews are conducted repeatedly to the expert to identify the cause’s problem of the daily output unpredictability. The result of these interviews will be an input to be used for data processing of AHP model. The criteria for the decision-making to choose the alternatives include time, cost, and output. While the proposed alternative is the addition of the labour pattern and the manufacture of the clothesline. The result of qualitative and quantitative data processing and consistency test show that the procurement of the clothesline can increase the efficiency of space and daily output. Abstract

Law Number 24 year 2007 on disaster management, mitigation is defined as a series of efforts to reduce disaster risk, either through physical development as well as awareness raising and capacity building facing the threat of disaster. Design of zoning into account key parameters, namely the earthquake zoning based seismic design category. Earthquake Disaster Mitigation in the flats, before disaster: (1) Categorization of areas based on the characteristics of the earthquake zone (seismic zoning); (2) Research the characteristics of land on which will be built flats (flat), whether included soft soil or hard soil; (3) Making a clear evacuation path on the building of towers and the surrounding area; (4) The construction of towers based on building standards for residential/earthquake resistant buildings, ranging from foundation to finish by referring to the building codes in force, such as size of the building (the building that avoid angular or curve) and the configuration of the building; (5) Quality control of the implementation of the building starts from the initial stage to the final stage; (6) The use of special material for reinforcement (retrofitting material), from local materials that are easy to find while saving the cost. While disaster, following guidelines/procedures for emergency earthquake that have been enacted or have been given training by the manager of the flat to flat consumer. After the disaster happen : (1) Checking of the condition of the flat dwellers who experience the disasters; (2) Checking of the condition of the buildings are damaged, the type of damage (structural and non-structural), and measures anticipated; (3) Improved method to save themselves; (4) Rehabilitation timely and build back better; (5) Maintenance and check on the condition of the building towers at regular interval. Abstract

Abstract. Nowadays, in this globalization era, most of the companies develop machinery and tools supported by a sophisticated technology. They do believe that by using the technology, hope the process of production becomes faster than using pure man power. Moreover, the company can produce a huge number of products. However, on the other hands, sometimes an operator who works on a particular subject to an improper machine has skill. Therefore, it is able to cause the work accident which is in the several cases can be fatal. There was a company which has a textile business. It produced strings as an essential material for draperies and carpets. During the operators operate and the production machinery, an unexpected accident occurred. Often if it did not use the right or standard procedure. Refers to that background, the researcher does the analysis of the potential of workplace accidents in the spinning department by using the Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment Method. The results of the research that has conducted in that department was a potential of hazards commonly occur in that workplace are as follows: the workers fingers have pinched by the machine, the workers fingers have run over by the machine, unconscious, being injured in hands, and have the material downfall. As for, the hazard that has inflicted be included into the high level of risk, the which is: the workers fingers have pinched by the machine, the workers fingers have run over by the machine, unconscious, and being injured in hands. Furthermore the medium level of risk the which is: have the material downfall and lower level of risk which is: have a shock and legs injured. In addition, refers to the results of the research, the researcher could recommended several inputs to the company, exactly to the worker, the which is : keep fit, wearing a mask during do the job, arranging a space (safe distance) between the worker and the machine, wearing safety tools (safety gloves and shoes included), checking the condition before do the job, making sure that the fiber in the balanced position. Abstract

This research was conducted at PT. Tritunggal Putra Perkasa, which manufactures a wide range of shoes. Subject matter in this research is applying the method of approach to the simulation of production scheduling in the Arena. This is done because the company often experience delays in order so that the fulfillment of consumer needs cannot be met. Process in the manufacture of shoes includes a process of cutting, printing, sewing, assembling and packaging. Before using ARENA simulation, this research compares the first production scheduling between conventional by using a method of the CPM (Critical Path Method), then use the simulation Arena. Scheduling production of the company in March with the arrival of as much as five orders. This company spent 36 days with 3 days delay experience with sequencing work of A-B-C-D-E, delays occurred in the work of c. results from the application of the CPM method i.e. spent 36 days but not delay occurs with sorting jobs A-B-C-DE. After that is done the application of simulated scheduling in the production Arena, so take only 34 days with sorting jobs A-B-C-D-E. So the company will not experience the delay and gain the trust of the buyer.  Keywords: Conventional, CPM, Simulation, Arena
