Abstract

This research is aimed at identifying the effect of using English songs in increasing students’ pronunciation in semester IV program in English Education program Batanghari University Academic Year 2015/2016. The population of this research is 28 students of fourth semester. The population of the research is devided into 14 students of experimental class and 14 students of control class. The experiment class is taught by using English songs technique while control class is taught by using repetition of words or practical technique. This research is experimantal research. The data are taken from pronunciation tests which are given in learning process. The result of the research shows that English songs technique can improve students’ pronunciation. It is concluded from the post-test that there is statistically difference of the mean between experimental class and control class. The mean score of experimental class is 91.78 and the mean score of control class is 84.64. it means that the mean score of experimental class is higher than control class. Post-test also indicates an improvement on students’ pronunciation after the students is taught by English songs technique. There is statistically difference on the result of t-test and t-table in which t-test is bigger than t-table, 2.29 > 2.00.

Abstract

This research aims to know the influence of creative problem solving Instructional model to the mathematical problem solving ability of students in high school. The research method was experimental research with quasi-experimental design. independent variables used in this study is a creative problem solving Instructional model and direct instructional model. The dependent variable used is the mathematical problem solving ability. Determination of samples taken by random sampling technique with a sample of 78 consisting of 40 keas XI IPA 1 as experimental class and 38 class XI IPA 2 as a control class. The collection of data used mathematical problem solving ability test. the end of the analysis using the t test. The results showed that the value t (3.43) > ttable (1.665) mean H0 rejected or there are differences in mathematical problem solving ability of students that learned with creative problem solving Instructional model with the direct learning model. the difference is the mathematical problem solving ability of students that learned with creative problem solving Instructional model is higher than on mathematical problem solving ability of students that learned by direct Instructional model. Meaning that there are significant of the creative Problem Instructional model Solving mathematical problem solving ability of students. Abstract

Child creativity development is essential, children's creativity is developed by training children in certain skills according to their personal interests and given opportunities to develop their talents or talents. Hope to be achieved is to know the extent to which the influence of learning creativity, both internally and externally in Junior High School 20 Muaro Jambi. Testing data normality in a scientific research can be done by using Kolmogorov Smirnov Test (K-S Test) as a measure of the research instrument used as a benchmark in a study. Abstract

Developing An Analogy Approach-Based Work Book in Calculus II Subject at Institut Agama Islam Negeri Sultan Thaha Saipudin (IAIN STS) Jambi. One of the problems encountered in teaching Calculus II subject at IAIN STS Jambi was the lecture had out ye accommodated the needs of the students t study actively. Analogy approach was assumed as one of the alternative approaches which could be applied in teaching and learning process that could help the students to get involved actively. Therefore, an analogy approach-based work book was developed. The aim of this research was to develop an analogy approach-based work book which was valid. This was a developmental research which used 4-D model that consisted of defining, designing, developing and disseminating. The work book which had been developed was validated by scientists in Calculus education and language. The practicality of the book was seen through observation and questionnaire. Abstract

This research aimed to analyze (1) The influence of instructional communication to the economic learning result of students grade XI IPS MAN 11 in Jambi City, (2) The influence of learning motivation to the economic learning result of students grade XI IPS MAN 11 in Jambi City, and (3) The influence of instructional communication and learning motivation to the economic learning result of students grade XI IPS MAN 11 in Jambi City. There are 150 students as the population of this research. The proportional random sampling technique is used to choose the sample. There are 60 students grade XI IPS MAN 11 in Jambi City as the research sample. The data collected by distribution of questionnaire to the research respondent and documentation of learning result. The technique of data analysis is multiple regression with SPSS program Version 16. The research result shows that (1) Instructional communication a significant influence to the economic learning result of students grade XI IPS MAN 11 in Jambi City. It is shown by value of Sig. < 0,05, namely 0,000 < 0,05. As for the magnitude of the contribution variable instructional communication to the economic learning result of students grade XI IPS MAN 11 in Jambi City are 37,3%, (2) Learning motivation a significant influence to the economic learning result of students grade XI IPS MAN 11 in Jambi City. It is shown by value of Sig. < 0,05, namely 0,000 < 0,05. As for the magnitude of the contribution variable learning motivation to the economic learning result of students grade XI IPS MAN 11 in Jambi City are 38,8%, and (3) Instructional communication and learning motivation a significant influence to the economic learning result of students grade XI IPS MAN 11 in Jambi City. It is shown by value of Sig. < 0,05, namely 0,000 < 0,05. As for the magnitude of the contribution variable instructional communication and learning motivation to the economic learning result of students grade XI IPS MAN 11 in Jambi City are 43,9%. Abstract

One of the ethnic that came to the Jambi is Tionghoa or mosstly knows as China. There are two kinds of them China Totok and China Peranakan. Most of them work as merchants, and they are dominated in economic localy, especially in Jambi, for example restaurants, banks, farms, automobile, and many more. All of these economic activities are influenced by confusionism theory. The content of it such as economical, honest, hard – working, and save. There are different between China Totok and China Peranakan, such as languages, reliance, relatives system, life style and their insight about Indonesia. China Totok still have strong feeling or conection identity with their ancestors, but China Peranakan who have acculturation and they feel that they are Indonesian. Abstract

Abtract : This paper discusses the area of Jambi as Minangkabau ethnic seacoast area. Through the history of the structural approach can be concluded that the existence of Jambi as Minangkabau ethnic rantau been going on since long. In general phenomenon driven by the Minang ethnic wander. Natural factors, economic, political, social and cultural education. Especially for the area of Jambi process to migrate is because the two regions is a geographical entity united by Batang Hari river. In addition to economic factors and trading mainly mining and gold trade has triggered a wave of ethnic Minang migration in large numbers, especially to the area of Jambi Hulu. The development of education in West Sumatra since the mid-19th century, which goes hand in hand with the development of the bureaucratic system of colonial rule, a new driving factor in order to seize opportunities as employees, bureaucrats, teachers, and other professional workers The existence of ethnic Minang Jambi region coupled with the interaction between them and the local community . That caused a lot Jambi region receive the influence of Minangkabau.The effect is especially apparent in the field of social and cultural life .

Abstract

Parenting parents is very important for children to provide encouragement or motivation in learning. With parenting a good influence for children, although many types of parenting applied parents’ of children dependent parents’ upbringing is applied parents to children.. The purpose in this research want to know whether there is any correlation between Parenting Parents’ and Students Motivation in learning English on43rd Semester at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) University Batanghari Jambi Academic Year 2016/2017.This research is quantitative research. The population of the research is 60 students and the samples are 30 students. The data collected by questionnaire.Then, Questionnaire used Scale likert with data ordinal. The result of data questionnaire parenting the parents' highest obtained amount is 60 parents. This research, there are validity and reliability namely, validity used content validity with statement positive and negative of questionnaire and reliability the used internal consistency with formula Cronbach Alpha and correlated by used Spermant Rank correlation formula with SPPS Statistic 20. The correlation between parenting parents; and students motivation retrieved value 0,000 ˂ real level 0.025, so is mean Ho is rejected or Hi is accepted , so have correlation between parenting parents and students motivation learning English on 4rd semester at the Faculty of teacher training and education (FKIP) Batanghari University Academic Year 2016/2017. Abstract

This research is motivated by the ability of students' understanding of mathematical concepts Low. One contributing factor is the teacher's teaching style or learning model that is still in use still live where there is a tendency to minimize the involvement of students. While teachers are more active in the learning process. One model that is expected to improve students' understanding of mathematical concepts is mind mapping. Mind mapping learning model is the submission of ideas or concepts and problems in learning then discussed in small groups so that gave birth to the various alternatives to solve. This study aims to determine the ability of students understanding of mathematical concepts between that learned to use mind mapping learning model is better than the ability of students' understanding of mathematical concepts that learned by direct learning model. This study used an experimental method with quasi-experimental design (quasi research method) with a student population of SMP Negeri 3 Tungkal Ulu Academic Year 2015/2016. Sampling using random sampling and sample drawn is a class VIII D as an experimental and VIII C as the control class. From the results of research conducted average scores for the experimental class was 78,15 with a standard deviation of 12,13 and the average value of the control class was 69,23 with a standard deviation of 15,22. As well as from the hypothesis test obtained at 2,655 and 1,675 on the real level of 0,05 . From the calculation it is seen that greater than it received. Based on the final results can be concluded that the ability of students ' understanding of mathematical concepts that learned to use mind mapping learning model is better than the ability of students' understanding of mathematical concepts that learned by direct learning model in class VIII SMP Negeri 3 Tungkal Ulu. Abstract

Penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas. Bertujuan untuk menemukan peningkatan kemampuan siswa dalam menulis teks deskriptif pada mahasiswa semester dua di universitas Batanghari tahun ajaran 2015/2016 melalui mind mapping. Datanya diperoleh dari pre-test dan post test dari masing-masing siklus. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa ada peningkatan dalam kemampuan mahasiswa dalam menulis teks deskriptif. Hal ini dapat dilihat pada rata-rata dari pre test dan post test. Pada siklus 1 rata-rata pre test dan post test adalah 57.03 dan 65.15. Rata-rata dari pre test dan post test pada siklus 2 adalah 64.05 dan 73.00. Proses penelitian ini berlangsung selama empat minggu. Mahasiswa bisa mengikuti proses belajar mengajar dengan baik. Mereka tampak tertarik dalam pelajaran. Berdasarkan analisis, peneliti menyimpulkan bahwa mind mapping bisa meningkatkan kemampuan mahasiwa dalam menulis deskriptif
