Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the fruit filtrate of the Phaleria macro as bioinsecticide for the larvae of Maruca testulalis in long bean plants Vigna unguiculata. This research was conducted at the Integrated Science Laboratory of STKIP Muhammadiyah Manokwari in June 2019. The population used in this study was 150 larvae of Maruca testulalis. 7 treatment groups were consisting of 4 replications. The P0 treatment group was given 0.1 ml of reagent solution, then for treatment P1, P2, P3, P4, P5, and P6 each was given the filtrate from the Phaleria macro with a concentration of 20%, 30%, 40%, 50%, 60%, 70%. The results of data analysis using the Kruskal-Wallis test 5.708 <12.591 so that there was no effect of the bioinsecticide of the crown of gods on the larvae of Phaleria macro these results are influenced by the dose concentration that is not quite right. However, if it is seen from the results of the research data, it can be seen that there is an effect of giving the Phaleria macro fruit filtrate on the mortality of Maruca testulalis larvae. This effect is due to the presence of saponin compounds found in the Phaleria macro.

Abstract

The research was conducted in the Maruni limestone forest habitat. The observation plots were carried out at an altitude of 35 masl to> 212 masl. Observations were made 2 times every day (day and night). The method of calculating diversity is done using the Shannon-Wieners Index and the species population is calculated using the Alikodra formula. 11 species were found that belong to the Varanidae, Boidae, Gekkonidae, Ranidae, and Hylidae families. The diversity of wildlife in the Maruni limestone location follows the altitude of the habitat. Reptiles do not differ according to height. The most common types are in the class of lizards, monitor lizards, and frogs. The types of herpetofauna that can be found are carnivores and are not protected. This type of monitor lizard can be found in abundance in low areas to an altitude of> 200 meters above sea level. Meanwhile, monitor lizards can be found in wet forests and near water sources. Similar to lizards, frogs inhabit wet or watery areas. The diversity of wildlife species in limestone habitats in each class of Reptiles is 18%. The population of herpetofauna species found varied between 25-1200 individuals.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the types of ferns found in Padang Pelasan Village, Seluma Regency, Bengkulu Province. The research was conducted using a qualitative descriptive method, namely research by collecting data or words. Sampling Pteridophyta was done by the Cruise Method. Data obtained from ferns (Pteridophyta) was then identified by observing samples consisting of roots, stems, leaves, and spores. The ferns found were brought to the nail cultivation site and the planting process was carried out. Based on the research results, the results of the inventory of ferns in Padang Pelasan Village, Seluma Regency, found 30 species of ferns consisting of 12 families, namely 3 species of Blechnaceae, 2 species of Selaginellaceae, 1 species of Dennstaedtiaceae, 1 species of Gleicheniaceae, 6 species of Pteridaceae. 1 species of Lygodiaceae, 4 species of Schizaceae, 1 species of Davalliaceae, 1 species of Athyriaceae, 1 species of Aspleniaceae, 7 species of Polypodiaceae, and 1 species of Equisetaceae. The most dominating ferns are the Polypodiaceae with 7 species.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the water boiled leaves of Clidemia hirta on blood sugar levels in Swiss Webster mice (Mus musculus). This research using a completely randomized design research design (CRD) with 5 treatment groups namely; Aquades control group (P0), 3 g sucrose treatment (P1), 3 g sucrose treatment + boiled bristle leaves boiled water at a dose of 0.13 ml/KgBB (P2), 3 g sucrose treatment + boiled bristle leaves boiled water at a dose of 0.26 ml/KgBB (P3), 3 g treatment of sucrose + boiled bristle leaves boiled water at a dose of 0.39 ml/KgBB (P4). Before administration of the extract, mice in the treatment groups P1, P2, P3 & P4 were induced using 3 g of sucrose for 5 days. Then after 5 days for groups P2, P3, and P4 followed by giving boiled water leaves for 7 days. The analysis result of One Way Anova Test shows that Fcount > Ftable (18.86 > 2.51). This shows the boiled water affects the blood sugar levels of male Swiss Webster mice. The concentration of extract at P4 (0.39 ml/KgBB) was more effective in reducing blood sugar levels.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of giving boiled water leaves Clidemia hirta on the levels of male webster swiss mice cholesterol. This type of research is an experimental study using the Completely Randomized Design (CRD) method which consists of 5 treatments with 5 repetitions. The experimental animals in this study were male mice which were divided into 5 groups namely P0 (aquadest), P1 (MDLT + PTU + boiled water 0.13 ml/bb), P2 (MDLT + PTU + boiled water 0.26 ml/bb), P3 (MDLT + PTU + boiled water 0.39 ml/bb), and P4 (Simvastatin 10 mg). The treatment was carried out using the gavage method using a gastric sonde device, giving boiled bristle leaves boiled water in the morning for 7 consecutive days carried out in the morning. Retrieval of blood cholesterol levels data by cutting the tail of mice and the next drop blood on the cholesterol strip Autocheck tool. Based on the results of the Kruskal Wallis test calculation states that Hcount <Htable (4.626 <9.49), it can be concluded that the provision of boiled water leaves of Clidemia hirta does no effect significant in reducing levels of male Swiss Webster mice (Mus musculus) cholesterol levels.
