Abstract

Communication is equalizing the meaning between the two parties between the communicator and communicant. Each has the same function and role when dialogic communication occurs. The communication we do with others has created various forms of communication that exist such as interpersonal communication, persuasive communication, coercive communication and others. This can be seen from the process carried out when the message is delivered to others. Situational and conditional factors in Interpersonal communication can affect a person in communicating with others. This can be seen in the communication process as long as the communication takes place with others. This condition can be analyzed to determine the quality of our communication with others. The process and mechanism of interpersonal communication can be seen from the perspective of the Social Exchange theory, reinforcement theory and Equity theory. From the analysis of various theories, we can find the strengths and weaknesses of Interpersonal communication during the process and the effects that occur after the communication occurs. Abstract

The phenomenon of the use of the internet as a learning media at the Al-Ihya (Unisa) Islamic University of Kuningan is increasingly passionate about the existence of hotspot facilities, so students can access the internet anywhere and anytime as long as they are active on the Unisa Kuningan campus. This interesting phenomenon is investigated because every new use of information and communication technology will have social consequences for the Unisa Kuningan academic community. The results of the study show that there are accessibility, frequency, and duration of internet usage by students who are quite high among students in accessing the internet. The social consequences that arise have not shown the existence of negative trends such as internet addiction and social alienation. Keywords: Internet, learning media, social consequences.

Abstract

The research is conducted by researcher to identify and describe the meaning of kinesics in contemporary music for the composers. The research questions are: 1) How the contemporary musical composers interperet the kinesics messages through facial expressions. 2) How the contemporary musical composers interperet the kinesics messages through gestures. 3) How the contemporary musical composers interperet the kinesics messages through its artifactual. This research used a qualitative method with the interpretive paradigm through a phenomenological approach. Research subjects consisted of seven contemporary musical composers as informants taken purposively. In-depth interviews and field observations conducted in this research to gain the needed of research data. The results show that the composers of the contemporary music, the informants, construct the kinesics meaning in contemporary music subjectively. The variety of Kinesics meaning in every kind of contemporary musical creatures represents the confirmation of communication which has a different verbal expression. The theatrical type in the contemporary show must prominently be more dominant than instrumental type of the contemporary music show. The combinations of the three non-verbal Kinesics communication components, namely; facial, gestural, dan artifactual, deliver the results of the constructed kinesics meaning as follow: (1) The Kinesics messages in facial aimed to expresses the meaning of sadness, anger, and happy, especially through the composers mimic. (2) The kinesics messages in gestural aimed as a confirmation to communicating the dialog prominently through their body as expressed in the composers eyes, hands and lips movement. (3) The Kinesics messages in artifactual aimed to represent the identity as it is functioned as a ‘marker’ particularly through its dressing or costume, make up and through the instruments. Abstract

Satya Wacana Christian University is famously known as mini Indonesia, this is because students who pursue their education in this campus come from various regions, tribe and ethnicities in this country. On one hand this condition brings diversity that characterizes Indonesia. On the other hand, diversity requires the existence of mutual adjustment, adaptation and respect. Therefore, understanding how each ethnic group adapts becomes an urgency. In Satya Wacana Christian University, from the various tribes and ethnicities, Papuans and Malukuese ethnics are two fairly large ethnic groups that are in this university. Through a qualitative descriptive approach, this paper seeks to express acts of communication by migrants (especially Papuans and Malukuese ethnics) when adapting in cultures. The results of this research are divided into 3 phases, first phase or the first year of the informant or students from ethnic outsiders still huddle or socialize with his group, the second stage or second year they already want to open up more to blend in with other groups, and the third stage is a stage where they're really able to master themselves and adapt to new environments. Abstract

One important element in public information disclosure is the Information Commission. the information commission has a function in conducting mediation and adjudication. The Cirebon Regency Regional Information Commission is one of the commissions authorized to resolve information disputes in Cirebon Regency. the important thing in carrying out its duties is the Cirebon Regency Regional Information Commission's performance. The performance will be related to human resource competencies. The formulation of research is the competence and performance of the Secretariat and the Regional Information Commission of Cirebon Regency in resolving information disputes. The purpose of the study was to determine the competence and performance of the Secretariat and the Regional Information Commission of Cirebon Regency in resolving information disputes. This study uses a quantitative approach. The research data was taken through a questionnaire with a total sampling method from the secretariat elements and commissioners. The results obtained that human resource competencies secretariat unit and commissioner have very good competence in resolve information disputes. the performance of the secretariat and commissioners based on statistical calculations is stated to be very good.

Abstract

Political education is one of the important factors in determining the attitude of a voter in the conduct of elections. Beginner voters with low levels of political education tend to have voices that are still floating or called swing-voters. If it is not able to be convinced, the swing-voter can become a golput, but if it can be convinced, the swing-voter can be an additional vote for a candidate or party in the final result of the vote count. The phenomenon of political apathy can be reduced by providing political education to beginner voters, one of the methods is through interpersonal communication. The exchange of values ??that form the basis of interpersonal communication can also occur in the family. This study aims to determine how the role of interpersonal communication in the process of early voter political education. Using the interpretative paradigm and descriptive qualitative research methods, by conducting observations, interviews and documentation studies. The unit of analysis under study is individuals, namely beginner voters at Pramuka Island, Thousand Islands, DKI Jakarta Province. The results of the study show that the role of interpersonal communication in the process of political voter education at Pramuka Island is to conduct discussions, exchange information about politics, and conduct political socialization, this will affect the process of political voter education and political participation in the 2019 Election. Abstract

Power relations reveal hidden things that occur in the Works process between agents in Social practice related to media political economy practices. Media competition requires agents (workers) to compete with innovation and more creatively giving birth to program that are able to attract a large audience. So editors become depressed in producing a program content. Every agents in television media conducts Social practices to channel the relationship between relations which directly or indirectly, or equal or not equal, this indicates the existence of Power. The Research has conducted in the critical paradigma domain, with the Robert K Yin case Study method, where the The of Research was explanatory study regarding the Power relations between manajerial teams and editor Liputan 6 Pagi teams using the theory of Foucault’s Discourse of Power and Knowledge. The Result showed that there were elementer of combination of dominance Power relations and unequal govermentality of Power. Abstract

This study examines the Political News Analysis of the Sovereignty of the People's Sovereignty on Eradicating Corruption as the Independence of the Mass Media in Proclaiming the Performance of the Jokowi-JK Government which focuses on 1 year of its administration (20 October 2014 October 20 2015). This research is based on two things, namely: first, how is the analysis of the political news regarding Corruption Eradication in the local mass media (Kedaulatan Rakyat) in reporting on the performance of the Jokowi-JK government; second, how the independence of the local mass media in reporting on the performance of the Jokowi-JK government in the area of ??corruption eradication. Media independence is seen from the method of Qualitative Approach with Critical Paradigm namely Critical Discourse Analysis; using Teun A. van Dijk's Model Analysis of text production involving aspects of cognition and social context. The production of text in the political news regarding the Eradication of Corruption in Judging the Performance of the Jokowi-JK Government presented by the Kedaulatan Rakyat SKH is a strong text structure. The Kedaulatan Rakyat Daily Newspaper is able to provide detailed Semantic Structure and more coherent relationships between words / sentences. In addition, the Kedaulatan Rakyat Daily Newspaper minimizes graphics and metaphor as rhetorical elements so as to be able to present more real and factual news. starting from text, social cognition and social context. The news on SKH Kedaulatan Rakyat is able to present the factual news objectivity in accordance with the truth and relevance. Not only that, the objectivity of the news about justice is able to be fulfilled by the People's Sovereignty SKH by presenting balanced news and explaining it more neutral without the support of the mass media. Abstract

The existence of radio segmented by women makes new hope for women's public space to form a positive image for women. Through the Santai Siang di Woman Radio program the formation of a positive image of women was developed in the presence of various different topics that were presented to support women's independence in the process of forming a positive image of women in the community. Researching the Sanatai Siang Thursday Financial Edition program program by discussing regulating family finances. Using feminist discourse analysis in the Santai Siang program. The research approach is a qualitative descriptive method developed by Sara Mills, which is also often called critical discourse analysis with a 'feminist' perspective. The results showed that Woman Radio in the Santai Siang program tried to position women into a positive image, women emerged as not inferior to men, but in the domestic sector women still carried out their responsibilities to carry out their roles as working mothers, housewives and wife. Abstract

Crowdfunding is a new method in fundraising activities based online. Moreover, the level of penetration of social media to the community is increasingly high. This makes social activists and academics realize that it is important to study social media communication strategies in crowdfunding activities. There is encouragement to provide an overview of crowdfunding activities. So the author conducted a research on "Crowdfunding Communication Strategy Through Kolase.com Through Case Study on the #BikinNyata Program Through the Kolase.com Website that successfully achieved the target.
