Abstract

This study was aimed to determine factors that affect CPO export in North Sumatra. This research was mainly based on to increase export volume and economic growth of Indonesia and specially North Sumatera beside to develop CPO industry. Secondary data of the time period of the years 1980-2010 were applied in the analyses and collected from BPS, Ministry of Agriculture and KPB PTPN. Ordinary least square (OLS) model used to see the factors that affected CPO export of North Sumatra. The results of study show that North Sumatera CPO exports was affected positively by Dollar exchange rate against Rupiah. It was causes the exporters gets a lot advantages from differences from Dollar exchange against Rupiah. The government have two assignment against, first make a policy to develop CPO export and the second make policy to protect the industries in Indonesia that used CPO as a raw materials.  Keywords: Affected, CPO, Export

Abstract

This research was aimed to know the difference of Work Performance level and the difference of Work Satisfaction within employees who have different level of education in General Affair and Human Resources Division of Inalum Co, Ltd. Kuala Tanjung. The variables are work Performance, Work Satisfaction, and employee’s Level of Education. Was done to employees of General Affair and Human Resource Division of Inalum Co, Ltd. Kuala Tanjung and used Proportionate Stratified Random Sampling Method.   The primer data of this research’s got from questionnaires and interview and used Likert Scale in measuring method. The data’s analyzed statistically by using SPSS 14.0 for windows program such as Classic Assume Test, Homogenity of Varian Test, Analysis of Varian, and described the respondences’ perceptions in the questionnaires descriptively.            From the result of this research, We know the F distribution value of Work Performance variable is 1,913 points. It is lower than Ftable distribution value which means that there’s no significant difference of Work Performance within employees who have different Level of Education. Where as the F distribution value of Work Satisfaction variable is 16,484 points which is higher than Ftable distribution value. This means that there is difference of Work Satisfaction within employees who have different Level of Education. Keywords: Work Performance, Work Satisfaction, Level of Education

Abstract

The Purba District is the largest central areas of vegetable production and is one of the local areas in the development of vegetable crops at Simalungun Regency.  This research uses field observations by the questionnaire and interview research instruments, this research is descriptive quantitative. The population were all the tomatoes, cabbage and potatoes farmers at 3 (three) sample villages at the Purba District. The respondents were 70 people farmer scattered samples at Nagori Tiga Runggu, Pematang Purba and Hutaraja. Data collected by interview, questionnaire, and study documentation. The data analysis used the multiple linear regression analysis estimated by the Cobb - Douglas production function. The results shows that the variable cropping patterns and organic fertilizers and pesticides had a signficantly effect on land productivity of vegetables farming. Then the chemical fertilizers and labour variables had a non significantly effect on the land productivity of vegetables farming at Purba District of Simalungun Regency. By this study had been conclusion that the vegetables productivity of vegetable farming highest obtained at the cropping pattern of land planted with cabbage 3 times in 1 year. The productivity by 59.988,98 kg/ha/year. The highest revenue for vegetable farmers on cropping pattern obtained 5 where the land planted with tomatoes and potatoes 1 times in a year. The income average of Rp. 100.895.515,7/Ha/year. Keywords : productivity, production, vegetables, Cobb-Douglas

Abstract

Tanjung Tiram District is the central areas and the potential for development of coconut commodities because of the natural conditions. The purpose of the study was to determine the coconut marketing channel system, to know the marketing margin on each marketing channel and to determine the level of coconut marketing efficiency. This research is quantitative descriptive by survey method. The research instruments used the interviews and questionnaires. The respondents in the sample used by 80 coconut farmers at Tanjung Tiram District of Batubara Regency. The result of study shows that the most small marketing margin at channel 3 (coconut farmer - retailer - consumer) of Rp. 700/piece of coconut, while the most of marketing margin at channel 2 (coconut farmer - wholesaler - consumer) and channel 5 (coconut farmer - trader - merchants of the city - town factory or retailer - consumer). The conclusion of this study is there are 5 types of coconut marketing channels at Tanjung Tiram District. In terms of the coconut marketing margin that channel 3 most efficient compared  to channel 1, 2, 4 and 5. The farmers choose the channel 1, channel 2, channel 4 and channel 5 even buy coconut at a price lower than the channels 3 because of the four marketing channels to absorb any coconut production whenever farmers at harvest time. Abstract

The  Development of  Sheep in  palm  oil plantations in Asahan Regency has a promising future  and comparative advantage with  DRCR > 1 ( Domestic Resources Cost Ratio ) as the standard of competitiveness. The  potential  supported by the available forage on palm plantations shows the ideal reproductive potential with  litter size of 1.56 . From feasibility analysis there are NPVpositif,  B / C ratio  is 1.8 and 21 % of  IRR > discount rate (12% ).The result  indicated  that  feasible to develop . To increase competitiveness can be done by keeping production and population (1) and the quality standards of at least 25 kg live weight(2) and also continuity of the availability of effort to keep the sheeps throughout the year (3) .  To increase competitiveness by exploring local resources to provide additional development and theory of competitiveness, according to sheep farm development oriented agribusiness  is sufficient for domestic demand and also to prepare for export market standards.  Keyword : Competitiveness, Livestock Sheep

Abstract
