Abstract

This writing tries to look for the most appropriate definition of art to examine the art phenomenon with hermeneutics/ interpretive perspective. Some definitions considered include art as mimetic, art as language and art as presentational symbol. In order to get conformity with the approach used in a research, discussion concerning definition of culture, particularly cultural theory emphasizing on the symbol system, is also included in this study. In the last section, the conclusion is conveyed by balancing between definition of art and definition of culture considered as appropriate to use as the footing in hermeneutics/ interpretive perspective-based study. Abstract

The presence of Dutch in Indonesia resulted in the acculturation between two different cultures. Colonial culture (European) and Indonesian culture, each of them is supported by different ethnic has also different social structure and encounters the long assimilation process. The convergence of two cultures leads indigenous culture (Indonesian) to encounter a significant cultural transformation, this occurs because there is colonial (European) culture’s influence entering Indonesia. The influence gradually becomes greater and the effect is widespread reaching various sectors and cultural elements. Among colonial effects evolving in Indonesia there is the effect in architecture development.Key word : architecture, Colonial

Abstract

This art works research entitled: “Environment Imaging by Virtual Reality Photography” aims to obtain an appropriate technique to take a 360 degree photography and to get a photography that can image the environment virtually, so that it can be developed in advanced application as an interactive visual element and to be appealing in interactive CD or website.This study was conducted in the form of technological experimentation and image technique in virtual reality manner. The result of research shows that the photography making of VR panorama requires the good mastery of photography technique through proper engineering of photography equipment and various photography technical experiments and digital imaging mastery and image developing by multimedia authoring technology, particularly with Virtual Reality software. And the VR panorama photography can create a more comprehensive environment because in its enjoyment it involves hands, eyes and even ears, hence creating the integration of physical, immersive and enjoyable activities.Keywords: Imaging, Environment, Virtual, Reality, Photography

Abstract

People as human being separated in two which are male and female, the difference called gender. Those differentiation base from biological function especially reproduction. Derivation from the natural aspect of male and female is bearing the gender concept that was effect from social construction. Once form of social construction that has relation with the differentiation gender peeping out gender term.Study cartoon and caricature means to look out on visual sign and word. This study use critical study with aims to unfold the meaning of sign or symbol. Unfolding that things isn’t easy because there are a lot of problem expanding in society especially social and politic problem. Other, the cartoon and caricature element are complex. It’s consists from many science, for example fine arts, art, linguistic, etc.Cartoon is a picture that represent symbolic sign, consist insinuate, joke or humour. On publication cartoon attend in periodic time, almost of them focus with political and public problem. Rarely social problem became a target, example the society behaviour, gym or someone personality.Keyword: Gender, Cartoon Editorial, Metaphor

Abstract

Rivalries among national and local TV companies have led to strategies and tactics as to how to seize and maintain potential viewers. If a company maintains its potential viewers it will receive increased revenue. If its competitors suceed in grabbing its potential viewers it will be in great loss. It is essential therefore that a television station company see the strategies and tactics utilized by its competitors.
