Abstract

One of the dakwa organizations which continues to grow with quite a large number of followers and spread in some parts of Indonesia is a religious school of the Indonesian Islamic Dakwa Organization (known as LDII), In West Kalimantan, especially in the city of Pontianak, the LDII is growing fast just as in the other areas. The religious activities indicate an attitude which is also exclusive, extreme and tends to blame the practice of the religious teachings outside of the congregation. The religious attitude of the LDII in Pontianak, has not led to rejection, but the spotlight and syndrome of refusal from some communities have started to emerge especially around the neighborhood of its preaching center. The purpose of this study are: 1) to describe the nature of LDII in Pontianak, 2) to describe the LDII doctrine and its application in public life in Pontianak., 3). to reveal the efforts of the government and the public in addressing the organizational activities of LDII in Pontianak The procedure used in this study was the approach of Case Study. The data sources consist of primary and secondary data sources. Data collection techniques used in case study were observation, in-depth interviews and analysis of documentation. The results of the study, as follows: (1) The LDII in the city of Pontianak has spread across several districts i.e. 11 (eleven) locations that serve as the gathering of the congregation of LDII. The places are equipped with mosques as a place of worship and boarding schools; the Government and the public are still in the process of monitoring and preventing conflict or disputes and violence between fellow Muslims or within the community; by studying the development of the Indonesian Islamic Dakwa Organization (LDII) in Pontianak, which in general is still under control, this research will be a major contribution to the government in making policies.

Abstract

This paper discusses the Bugis people in West Kalimantan. The author seeks to see what sets the identity of the Bugis apart from the Malays, and what basis that can be used to identify their characteristics. The data were collected in Dabong village, a remote village in Kubu Sudistrict of Kubu Raya Regency, West Kalimantan, which takes 7 hours by public transport from Pontianak. The data were collected through field observations on people's lives as well as interviews with community leaders and some residents of Bugis descent. The interviews obtained information that the Bugis people had settled in Dabong for 6 generations and mingled with the local community. The Bugis descendants in Dabong have now become Malay. They introduce themselves with the Malay identity, and known as Malay to outsiders as well. The option to become Malay was made as a pragmatic consideration that in the village, the Malay society and culture was dominant. However, despite their Malay identity, the Bugis remain recognizable in terms of identity, which is reflected through cultural activities. Some Malay customs that they practice still exhibit obscure Bugis characteristics. The choice to preserve the traits of Bugis among people of Bugis descent is not because of ethnic consciousness, but rather due to cultural awareness, the awareness of their obligations to implement what has been practiced by their ancestors, and the belief that every ritual performed has consequences.

Abstract

The Bugis philosophical values about monotheism, i.e. God almighty, come from ephos Galigo, namely Dewataseuae (the Only God), Datu Palanro (the Creator), Aji Patoto (the Law Giver), La Puang e (the Owner), he is the first, who provides grace and punishes the guilty. These values are in line with the values of monotheism in Islam. Islam entered South Sulawesi in the early seventeenth century brought by three Datoks: Datok ri Bandang, Datok ri Tiro and Datok ri Patimang. These three ulemas spread Islam in the palace. Therefore, the growth of Islam in South Sulawesi never had a clash between religions (sara') and the ruler (royaltycustoms). Customary people (nobility) and the religious (sara') supported each other in the spread of Islam. Once Islam had been accepted, the Bugis philosophy namely pangngaderreng/ pangngadakkang which consists of ade', wari, rapang, talk) was finally added with sara' as one of the elements of pangngaderreng / pangngadakkang.

Abstract

Standard clauses are an accumulation of business and non-business factors, and follow a uniform pattern. The principles of consumer protection contract, either introduced by Law No. 8 /1999 or by experts, have yet to contain standard contracts and clauses. As a result, even though Laundry Q combined three principles of the contract, the composition of standard clauses consist of exonerated and prohibited clauses. Besides containing the internal weakness, this law has weak supervision not to mention law enforcement. Standard clauses only covers a small part of clauses on the formulation of business actors. The executive and legislative body should act. Certified standard clauses, the revision of Article 18 of Law No. 8 /1999, and judicial review of this article by the Constitutional Court needs to be done.
