Abstract

Preschool is an important period in a child's development. In reality, not all children can go through their growth and development period optimally because they experience disturbances in the growth and development process and various other factors. Parental parenting styles in child development really help children achieve and undergo normal growth and development according to their age level. This research aims to determine the relationship between parenting patterns and the development of preschool children at Al Amin Kindergarten Mojoroto Kediri. This research uses a cross sectional approach. Sampling used a total sampling technique with a total sample of 48 respondents (parents and children). The data collection technique was carried out by distributing parenting style questionnaires and observing the child's development. The data results were processed using univariate and bivariate analysis (Chi-Square). The research results showed that 43 (89.6%) mothers implemented a democratic parenting style and 21 (43.8%) children had development appropriate to their age. Based on the results of data processing, there is a relationship between parenting patterns and the development of preschool children at Al Amin Kindergarten Mojoroto Kediri (p-value 0.013). Based on this research, teachers are expected to carry out regular development assessments every year and provide education to parents about how to apply parenting styles and how to stimulate children's development so that activities to stimulate children's growth and development can be carried out in a coordinated manner in the form of a partnership between teachers and parents

Abstract

Integrated healthcare center (Posyandu) is an important health service for babies and toddlers at the earliest, visits by toddlers at the posyandu are related to the role of the mother as the person most responsible for the health of her toddler. Visits by mothers of toddlers are influenced by education, employment status, income level, level of knowledge, age of toddlers, and number of toddlers. This research aimed to determine the relationship between the knowledge of mothers of toddlers about posyandu activities and visits by toddlers in North Tanon Hamlet, Tanon Village, Papar District. The research design used correlation analysis with a cross-sectional approach. The sample in this study was 44 respondents taken using a purposive sampling technique. Data collection uses a questionnaire. Data were analyzed using the Spearman Rho Test. The research results showed that most respondents had insufficient knowledge, as many as 27 respondents (61.4%), and most respondents made inactive visits as many as 21 respondents (47.7%). The analysis showed a significant relationship between maternal knowledge and toddler visits at Posyandu (p-value = 0.003; α <0.05). Mothers' knowledge about Posyandu and the benefits of Posyandu can influence mothers' motivation to bring their toddlers to Posyandu visits. Mothers with poor knowledge about Posyandu can reduce toddlers' visits to Posyandu.

Abstract

Patients who undergo elective surgery are still anxious about the action that will be carried out when they enter the operating room, even though the surgeon has explained it as the Doctor Responsible for the Patient. The patient's anxiety in the operating room is characterized by frequent questions about the progress of the operation and a lack of cooperation when preparing a series of operations in the operating room. This research used a correlation research type, a Pre-Experimental research design with a population of elective pre-operative patients in the operating room at HVA Kediri Hospital. The total sample was 25 respondents using a sequential sampling technique. The data collection method used a questionnaire. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon test. The study results showed that before being given information and education to preoperative patients, almost half, 11 respondents (44%) experienced moderate anxiety. After being given information and education, it was found that the majority did not experience anxiety, 15 respondents (60%). There was a significant difference in anxiety between before and after being given education and information (p-value = 0.000; α <0.05). Education and information before the patient undergoes surgery can reduce the patient's anxiety level. Sufficient knowledge regarding the actions to be carried out means that the patient knows and does not ask questions about what will happen to him in the operating room.

Abstract

Pregnant women are at risk of experiencing anemia, which can have health impacts such as bleeding and giving birth to low birth weight babies (LBW). The global prevalence of anemia is 43%, while in Indonesia it is 37.1%, and in the Rantau Pulung Community Health Center (Puskesmas) area, it is 39.3%. Efforts to address low hemoglobin levels often involve regular consumption of iron tablets during pregnancy. Non-pharmacological interventions include the consumption of dragon fruit, rich in vitamin C, vitamin B1, vitamin B2, vitamin B3, and protein, to increase hemoglobin levels. To determine the influence of dragon fruit on increasing hemoglobin levels in pregnant women with anemia in the working area of the Rantau Pulung Community Health Center. This study utilized a quasi-experimental design with a pre-test post-test non-equivalent control group. The study population included a total of 26 pregnant women with anemia. The sampling technique used was total sampling, resulting in 26 participants divided into an experimental group of 13 and a control group of 13. The measurement tool was observation of hemoglobin levels. Data analysis employed paired t-tests and independent t-tests. There was a difference in hemoglobin levels before and after the administration of iron tablets combined with dragon fruit by 1.1692 g%, and a difference in hemoglobin levels before and after the administration of iron tablets by 0.7077 g%. The administration of iron tablets combined with dragon fruit was effective in increasing hemoglobin levels in pregnant women in the working area of the Rantau Pulung Community Health Center in East Kutai Regency, with a p-value of 0.004. Consuming 500 g of dragon fruit daily can increase the hemoglobin levels of pregnant women due to its content of vitamin C, vitamin B1, vitamin B2, vitamin B3, and protein. The administration of dragon fruit effectively increases hemoglobin levels in pregnant women.

Abstract

Massage is the oldest method of treatment in the world. Massage encompasses both healthcare and therapy. There are many benefits obtained from performing infant massage, one of which is the improvement of infant weight gain. One of the issues concerning the growth and development of toddlers in Kutaikartanegara, East Kalimantan, is the prevalence of underweight toddlers at 17.5% and wasted toddlers at 9.0%. The aim of this study is to analyze the influence of infant massage classes on infant weight gain. The research design is a quasi-experiment with a Two Group Pretest Posttest design. The research subjects are divided into two groups: the control group and the treatment group, and both pretest and posttest measurements are conducted. Based on the results of the t-test using paired t-test analysis, the significance value is p=0.000 (p<0.05). This indicates that there is an influence of infant massage classes for infants aged 1-6 months on weight gain. The average increase in infant weight after the intervention is 5200 grams. There is an influence of infant massage on infant weight gain at PMB Andi Herawati in the year 2023.

Abstract

Breast milk (ASI) is the primary source of nutrition for infants as it can fulfill all their needs. However, the current rate of exclusive breastfeeding is still low. In Kutai Kartanegara Regency, the coverage of exclusive breastfeeding is only 47.5%. One of the reasons is insufficient breast milk production. Various efforts have been made to enhance breast milk production, such as providing papaya fruit dessert, as it contains lactagogue compounds that have the potential to stimulate hormones like oxytocin and prolactin. Compounds such as alkaloids, polyphenols, steroids, flavonoids, and other substances are believed to be most effective in increasing and facilitating breast milk production. To analyze the influence of papaya fruit dessert consumption on the enhancement of breast milk production among postpartum mothers in the working area of Sungai Merdeka Community Health Center in 2023. This study employs a quasi-experimental design with a "Pretest-Posttest, Control Group Design." The population includes all postpartum mothers who have given birth normally in the working area of Sungai Merdeka Community Health Center, with an average of 30 deliveries per month. The sample size was determined using the minimal sample size formula by Lemeshow, resulting in 26 participants. The measurement tools consist of observation sheets and a real bubee electric breast pump. Data analysis involves an independent t-test. There is an influence of papaya fruit dessert consumption on the enhancement of breast milk production among postpartum mothers in the working area of Sungai Merdeka Community Health Center, with a p-value of 0.000. The breast milk production in the group provided with papaya fruit dessert was significantly higher, with a difference of 39,231 ml compared to the group without papaya fruit dessert. The presence of compounds like alkaloids, polyphenols, steroids, and flavonoids in papaya fruit can enhance breast milk production.

Abstract

Breast milk is the best food for infants as it can fulfill the baby's nutritional needs comprehensively. Breast milk production can increase and decrease, and one of the factors is stimulation of the mammary glands, especially during the first week of lactation. This stimulation can be enhanced through oxytocin massage and lavender aromatherapy, as they stimulate the oxytocin hormone. Objective: To determine the effect of oxytocin massage and lavender aromatherapy on breast milk production in postpartum mothers at Klinik Pratama Triana Nur 2 Sangatta Utara. The research design is a quasi-experimental Pre-test Post-test Design With Control Group. The population of the study is all postpartum mothers who gave birth at Klinik Pratama Triana Nur 2 Sangatta Utara. The sampling technique is consecutive sampling, with a total of 34 participants, 17 in the experimental group and 17 in the control group. The observation of breast milk production is the measurement tool. Data analysis techniques involve the Wilcoxon test and Mann Whitney test. There is a difference in the smoothness of breastfeeding before and after the combination of oxytocin massage and aromatherapy with a p-value of 0.000. There is a difference in breastfeeding smoothness before and after without the combination of oxytocin massage and lavender aromatherapy with a p-value of 0.008. There is an influence of the combination of oxytocin massage and lavender aromatherapy on the improvement of breastfeeding smoothness in postpartum mothers at Klinik Pratama Triana Nur 2 Sangatta Utara with a p-value of 0.003. Discussion: Oxytocin massage and lavender aromatherapy trigger the oxytocin and prolactin hormones to stimulate production due to their relaxation effects. The combination of oxytocin massage and lavender aromatherapy can increase breast milk production.

Abstract

Anemia is a condition in which the number of red blood cells (erythrocytes) is less than it should be even though red blood cells contain hemoglobin which is responsible for distributing nutrients and oxygen throughout the body Anemia in pregnancy can cause miscarriage, premature birth, low birth weight, bleeding before and after childbirth can even cause death of mother and child. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the incidence of anemia in pregnant women and LBW births at UPT Puskesmas Kaliorang in 2023. This research is a type of analytic observational research with a retrospective approach. The population in this study were pregnant women at UPT Puskesmas Kaliorang. The number in this study was 15 people, the sampling technique used was total sampling. The instruments in this study were observation sheets, medical records, laboratory results sheets. Data analysis using chi-square. The results of statistical tests using the Chi-square test on the variable anemia with LBW incidence showed that the p-value = 0.001 and the Odds Ratio value (OR = 27.500). There is a relationship between the incidence of anemia in pregnant women and LBW births with a risk level of 27 times greater. Anemia can be prevented by consuming a balanced nutritious diet with sufficient intake of iron to meet the body's needs. Iron can be obtained by consuming meat (especially red meat) such as beef.

Abstract

Several factors influence the achievement of Exclusive Breastfeeding, including the presence of mothers experiencing nipple soreness, which consequently leads to discontinuation of breastfeeding; insufficient breast milk flow resulting in a switch to formula milk. One alternative to improve breast milk flow is through the application of Woolwich massage. Woolwich massage therapy is a technique that stimulates breast milk production in nursing mothers. To determine the effect of Woolwich massage on the improvement of breast milk production in postpartum multipara mothers in the postpartum room of Kudungga General Hospital. This study employed a quasi-experimental design, specifically a non-equivalent control group design. The results of this study revealed a significant effect of Woolwich massage on the improvement of breast milk production (p-values of 0.008 and 0.005) with α value of 0.05. The increase in breast milk production can be attributed to the process of milk formation that occurs after stimulation through massage. Contraction of these specialized cells then propels breast milk from the alveoli through the lactiferous ducts to the lactiferous sinuses, where milk is stored. In the first week after childbirth, around 6 out of 10 postpartum mothers commonly experience insufficient breast milk production. Woolwich massage intervention is necessary, with the expectation of enhancing breast milk production in postpartum mothers.

Abstract

The rate of births through cesarean section is 17.6% (Riskesdas, 2018). Uterine involution is the process of the uterus returning to its pre-pregnancy state in terms of both form and position. Early mobilization is a policy aimed at promptly guiding patients out of bed and encouraging them to walk as soon as possible. Failure to engage in early mobilization can result in an increase in body temperature due to inadequate uterine involution, preventing the removal of residual blood and leading to infections. The objective of this study is to determine the effect of early mobilization on uterine involution in patients after Cesarean Section at Kudungga Kutai Timur Regional General Hospital. This study employs a quasi-experimental research design in the form of a two-group posttest-only design to assess the impact of early mobilization on uterine involution after Cesarean Section at Kudungga Kutai Timur Regional General Hospital. The study includes a sample size of 10 respondents in the intervention group and 10 respondents in the control group. The consecutive sampling technique is used for sampling. Research instruments include observation sheets. The results of the Mann-Whitney test show a significance value of 0.008 (p<0.05), leading to the rejection of the null hypothesis (H0). It can be concluded that there is a difference in uterine involution after early mobilization in patients after Cesarean Section in the postpartum ward of Kudungga Regional General Hospital in 2023.
